That’s why we call it GK crisis. Who should we celebrate? Mention one GK

Oasis007:

Bravo!

It's really baffling we are celebrating Rookies on this Thread....... U18 Keeper, 3rd Choice GK and Team B first Choice as Nigerian best GKs for the World Cup?! LOL!

We've been asked to deal with it, and we gonna deal with it.

One PK? Hmm not enough to rate him on.

To say Akpeyi is only better than Ezenwa in the area of PK sounds strange.

All the same, let the friendlies come so we see who's prepared among them.
Sir are we going for penalties at WC cos you and humility017 have entered another segment.

I don't think the two are better than Ajiboye when it comes to penalty but we want all round keeper not only penalty saver.

Penalties might be important if we get to the knock out stages so you need a good penalty keeper.

Oga you all should stop complaining about Uzoho's clip. I believe that you of all people should know that you don't judge a keeper by the goals he conceded only as that doesn't tell true picture.

Do you want me to show clips of goals conceded only of top keepers worldwide?... Starting from Jorge Campos, Oliver Kahn, Dida, Casillas, Great Edwin Van Der Saar, Almighty De gea, Neur, Peter Cech,...? All of them, from their goals conceded only, they look amateurish! Every keeper looks incompetent at any goal he concedes... FACT! angry

To judge a keeper from clips, you have to see he saves and goals conceded.

Coming to Uzoho, this is a keeper with 10 clean sheets out of 15 games. You didn't ask for clips of his saves from the cleansheets matches, rather you asked for the goals he conceded and you are judging him from that.

Newsflash,.. I will take a goal keeper who let's in a goal in 1350 minutes of football /divide by 9 goals conceded, which is an average of 150 minutes to the world cup anyday anytime especially when the keeper is a young lad because he can improve on his mistake.

I am terribly disappointed about you and every other adult casting doubts because of the clips of Uzoho posted here. With all your experience and age in watching football, you don't know a good keeper when you see one.

As good as Peter Cech is, I have seen him concede goals that I wonder WTF

I have seen Courtoise conceded goals severally and I wonder where he went AWOL to.

Give the young man a break.

In the whole top 5 leagues in Europe, they are no African keepers in the top flight. It tells you something is wrong somewhere, but not that Africans are not good in terms of goalkeeping... No!.. Rather it tells you that something else apart from ability is wrong.

Yet here is a small boy trying to break barriers to get to the top and all you do instead of acknowledging his efforts so far is to berate him.

I repeat! Give him a break!
This is very impressive !

Rohr Keeps To His Promise : Amkar Perm Defender Brian Idowu Receives Nigeria Call-Up

Amkar Perm star Brian 'Abuja' Idowu is set to add to his solitary international cap for Nigeria's national team, with manager Gernot Rohr inviting him for the upcoming Pre-World Cup friendlies against Poland and Serbia.

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands Idowu is the only Amkar Perm player in contact with the Nigerian Federation, meaning Aaron Samuel and Fegor Ogude are set to be omitted from the list of invitees.

Idowu was part of Nigeria's 23-man squad for the friendly against Argentina on November 14, coming on at half-time as replacement for left-back Ola Aina.

The Saint Petersburg-born defender scored eight minutes into his debut to give Nigeria a crucial 3-2 lead against the two-time world champions.

The 25-year-old has played as a central defender, left back, left midfielder, right midfielder and right back for Amkar Perm in the Russian Premier League.

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr earlier stated that Idowu will be part of his World Cup squad and will act as the Super Eagles interpreter as he speaks Russian language.

John Ogu, Chidozie Awaziem, Oghenekaro Etebo and Daniel Akpeyi are confirmed to be named to the roster that will be announced in the coming days.

OK if that's the case Ajiboye should be on his way to Russia as penalty keeper not necessarily to be the first or second choice just for penalties, another scenario of Enyeama coming off for Aiyenugba when it comes to penalties.but i don't believe in this idea.

Sir i think we need balance keeper who would give us good 90 mins and solid when it comes to penalty decision during the course of a match or penalties shootouts.

Its like you people haven't learned anything.... All the hardwork done by Pinnick, all the labor of the players during the qualifiers, every hope we have had on this team,... These are all what you will see vaporize before your very eyes when you put Akpeyi in goal at the world cup. Every shot, every nodding will be a goal.. The only ball he will be able to keep out in the GWG is a back pass... Even dat one too na prayer! embarassed

Maybe you like to endure pain, maybe you like to have an open disgrace but not me

I would take either an Ezenwa, Uzoho or Alampasu in goal any time anyday at the world cup than Akpeyi heck! I will even be comfortable with rookie Maduka Okoye than Akpeyi.

Akpeyi should be left out of the Super Eagles to go sort out his physiological issues, else playing him further would make his case worse, he will keep posting below par performance, and he will end up ridiculed, he will be dejected and his self-esteem will plunge further.

Save the poor man now and end his misery!
Where did you see me say I want Akpeyi in goal?I only said I feel he'd be in goal as our number one. But apart from that, Rohr definitely sees something you and I are not seeing if not why does he always invite Akpeyi whenever we have a match and Akpeyi is fit?. Chew on this.

Me, I am at peace. Whosoever is in goal, I will support. At this rate even if na Maduka. Man must have peace. No need giving ourselves high on things we cannot help.

What an insightful comment.I never thought of this and to be candid you are not far from truth.

1.Peter Rufai was the first keeper to travel out for professional career, first with Dragon of Benin and moved to Lokeren in Belgium later Go ahead eagles in dutch league, fareinse in Portugal and Deportivo LA coruna in Spain.

2.Wilfred Agbonavbare moved from BCC lion of Gboko straight to Rayo Vallecano as number one and had a great time in la iga, remain the best Nigerian keeper in LA liga history followed by Peter Rufai who also had a stay with Deportivo LA coruna.

3.Alloy Agu moved from ACB if am right straight to starting eleven of MVV Maastricht in dutch league and had a great years before moving to Turkish league.

4.Ademola Bankole moved from shooting star to English championship club as number one and was damn good for his club, remain only local breed to move to England and command regular shirt as a keeper.

5.Ike Shorunmu moved from shooting star straight to swiss giant fc grasshopper as number one and was very solid for the club

6.Murphy Akanji the father of Dortmund and Switzerland CB Manuel Akanji moved from Julius Berger straight to Malta as number one and almost keep for Malta national team but already cap by Nigeria.

7.Willy Opara moved from Nigeria league straight to Orlando pirates as a starter for long before he quit the game.

8.Peterside Idah moved from Iwauyanwu nationals straight to south Africa league as number one

9.Greg Etafia moved from here and team up with marrowka swallo as number one before he quit the game now one of the technical member of the team.

10.Vincent Enyeama moved from Nigeria and command a regular shirt for his club in Isreal for so long before moving to French league also as number one.

11.Austin Ejide left Nigeria straight to Do sahel as number one and later to Bastia in French division two before moving to Isreal,in all these sojourn he was a regular now in Isreali second division.

12.Dele Aiyenugba moved from Enyimba and replaced Enyeama in his former club as number one for so long and still active as number one in Isreali league till dates.

13.Sunday Rotimi left plateau united straight to Isreali second division league as number one and came back home when the team got relegated meaning no space for thorough professional in division three. He came home spent a season and moved back and spent another three seasons before returning to NPFL and still remain solid.

14.Daniel Akpeyi moved from Nigeria league and straight as number one of chippa united in South Africa league, presently eagles keeper.

15.Dele Ajiboye from Nigeria to Spanish division three and command regular shirt until he moved back to Nigeria and sort his career out with shooting star,Nasarawa united and now with Plateau united, presently one of the five Rohr is considering, good decision for him to come back instead of wasting in division four league.

16.Ghanian international Edward Ansah was so solid with Leventis United for many years but went straight to claim Ghana number one keeper ahead of his Europe based counterparts, just to tell us talents abound in Nigeria league.

17.Fataou Dauda another Ghana international in Nigeria league and doing well with Enyimba.

Mike, truly Nigeria goalkeeping future is bleak with our keepers keeping for reserve teams and youth teams in Europe.

Presently Uzoho is number four cos Deportivo recently got another keeper on loan from Russia league instead of promoting the young lad to the main team.

Alampasu third keeper in Portuguese league after some years with the club not encouraging.

Well Maduka is still growing cos we don't know what future hold for him being a German which will definitely shape his future.

Honestly i don't think these guys are better than what we have at home but do we blame Rohr cos Alloy Agu failed to produce a solid keeper for the team if not how on earth will Super eagles be chasing goalkeepers who are under tutelage for Eagles.

Abeg stop misleading people, just because you don't have faith on Uzoho, shouldn't make u sale false news about him. Uzoho is Deportivo's third choice goalkeeper, he was at a point, the second choice (when Ruben was injured). When Costell Pantillimon wasn't pulling his weight, Uzoho rose to the rank of first choice for Derpor's first team until Pepe was sacked and he got demoted to third choice again with the arrival of Przemysla on loan. Maybe u didn't know Pantillimon's loan deal was terminated. Derpor's first three goal keepers are Przemysla, Ruben and Uzoho. With the fall of Ruben, Uzoho is now viewed as the second choice within the Derpor fraternity though Ruben retains the title.

Dele Ajiboye was never the first choice of Pandevedra CF when he left wikki for Spain. In fact, his European sojourn was a total fiasco.
