Pls what has been Etebo performance in eagles of recent? Ogu had two solid games against Algeria and Argentina, meaning Ogu is ahead but now a talented midfielder in Joel Obi is coming in and barely injury the guy is solid meaning any of Ogu,Etebo and Agu could be dropped if they don't measure up

Claude Puel 'happy' with speculation surrounding Wilfred Ndidi's future
16:38, UK, Thursday 01 March 2018

Leicester boss Claude Puel is happy with recent speculation surrounding Wilfred Ndidi’s future because it shows the midfielder is performing well for his team.

In recent weeks, Ndidi has been linked with a big-money summer move to Liverpool amid speculation Reds midfielder Emre Can could depart Anfield for Juventus when his contract expires at the end of the season.

No player has made more successful tackles than Ndidi's 116 in the Premier League this season, and Puel says interest in the midfielder is a testament to how much he has come on since joining Leicester in a £15m deal from Belgian side Genk a little over a year ago.

"We spoke about Wilfred, the other week it was about [Harry] Maguire and last week it was another. Every week it is a different player," Puel told reporters ahead of Saturday's visit of Bournemouth.

"I think it is a good feeling - also because if there is speculation around a player I think all of this shows they have progressed in the team.

Puel is delighted he can call upon the 14-cap Nigeria international

"They [all] have to continue to work with us, and of course I am happy about [speculation regarding] Wilfred, Harry, Riyad [Mahrez], and Jamie [Vardy].

"I think it is also a good thing to have players of this quality in the interests of the team."

Ndidi had a difficult job to emulate the success enjoyed by N'Golo Kante, who left the club for Chelsea six months before the Nigeria international joined and went on to win the Premier League for the second season in succession.

Puel added: "I think since the beginning of the season Wilfred is perhaps the most important and most consistent player [for us] because he has played well [and] recovered a lot of balls.

Ndidi's skillset is unique compared to Leicester's other players, according to Puel
"Perhaps his last game [Leicester's 1-1 home draw with Stoke] - like his team-mates - he was not fantastic, but since the beginning of the season I think he has improved a lot.

"He has continued to work with a very good spirit in training sessions but he is a valuable player for us because we don't have a lot of players with those attributes. He can recover a lot of balls he is strong in the duels and he plays it simple with good quality, and gives our play a good start."

I think Shehu is not just a RB, he can play MD too.
Yes but check out Nigeria midfield, Mikel,Ndidi, Onazi,Ogu,Etebo,Agu and now Joel Obi.

Better for Shehu to concentrate on RB and my fear again is Rohr testing Brian and Aina at RB cos those guys too are solid RB.

I don't think our Midfielder option will be more than 5.
2 players are likely to get dropped from the players you mentioned.

3 Goalkeepers, 8 Defenders, 5 Midfielders and 7 Forwards

Hardly does d 2nd Gk get to play at d tournament till it ends, let alone of d 3rd gk playing... To me,I c it as a waste of slot wink

After the friendlies against Poland and Serbia, Uzoho, Ezenwa and Akpeyi acquit themselves respectably between the sticks. I am wondering what the narration will be. Its obvious some posters here are more knowledgeable than Rohr and his crew. I will state it again WE ARE OUR OWN PROBLEM.
Good if they come good in the friendlies and build on it then we all be happy.

I'm a real fan of Akpeyi but after Argentina match i dropped my sentiment and face reality, hope to see him come good in the friendlies.

I don't rate Ezenwa before but his performance against Angola changed my mind and hope to see him in friendlies.

Oh Uzoho i think his Argentina performance still speak for him and hope he continue from there which would be great considering his age.

The three are the solutions if they can do it but any flops my man it would be disastrous.

etebor.

gonna be a bomb.
I like the competition we have got in the midfied...unlike the days of Gabriel Reuben and ramon azeez.

but it will be difficult to drop etebor especaliy if he come good in camp...wit his current la liga experience...playing against the likes of Madrid and berca is not an experience any coach will like throw to the dustbin

One PK? Hmm not enough to rate him on.

To say Akpeyi is only better than Ezenwa in the area of PK sounds strange.

All the same, let the friendlies come so we see who's prepared among them.

Na just your question make me reply oooo Egbon. wink

What I mean is simple. Right now, Rohr seems to have his eyes fixed more on Uzoho and not Alampasu due to the former's active form for club this season (two LA liga games and lots of Division 3 games) and also his recent involvement and decent showing in the Argentina friendly.

The only thing against Alampasu is that he is not as active as Uzoho at club level. Now that makes Uzoho ahead for now. I do not speak of talent but I speak of development of both goalies at The moment. I know Alampasu have played Cup games and even kept clean sheet against FC Porto in previous seasons but right now, Uzoho also got two topflight games in the world's best technically proficient league.

On the national front, Uzoho has been tested for 45 mins in a game against Argentina while Alampasu was tested in game against Togo where he came on for Ezenwa and played 21 mins+ making a top drawer save too.

Uzoho seems ahead in Rohr's decisions map. I only based my deductions on his recent actions and Uzoho's recent rise but Alampasu remains a top prospect like Uzoho.

Alampasu came to the national team before Uzoho but right now, you have to admit that Uzoho seems to stand a better chance of making the Russia plane than Alampasu. Just for now.

In all, the friendlies will decide... because the goalies tested in these games will have no place to hide. It is make or mar.

which attackers are you raising the bar higher for? And if they don't reach your bar, wetin go happen?

There are 32 teams going to the world cup, do we start comparing our players performance to that of players from the 32 teams? Griezmann scored four goals, na today? Do we have any attackers of Griezmann's quality or experience? No. So, what are we comparing?

Abeg, let them be playing actively where they are. How many goals did Iwobi score for Arsenal before sending two inside Argentina's net? How many games did Kelechi play before the Argentina game?

Match situations are different. Griezmann can score four today and none for another four games.

Make we dey face front and stop unnecessary comparison.

I've noticed you always take opposing opinions too personal.

I mentioned something I observed. Nobody is saying our attackers should also score 4 goals bit at least a goal or an assist every week isn't too much to ask.

As griezman score 4 goals now make we fry beans?

He scored hatrick in the weekend followed by 4 goals making it 7 in 2 games but before then griezman had only 4 goals in laliga all season.

Our striker no need 4 goals abeg, abi u wan dey compare french payer and naija players.

Chairman, nobody is saying you should fry beans, what happened to yam or Amala?

On a more serious note, what I'm saying isn't meant to make unnecessary criticisms on our players but just to motivate them to raise their game a bit.

We wish them well

This is the game Rohr will most definitely watch to see Etebo's current form and mentality against the big guns of world football... wink Go get them Etebinho! cheesy
