3. KARASHIKA

A typical Nollywood movie on witchcraft and juju, the 1996 movie revolved around Satan and his followers, including Karishika, who was sent to the world to initiate men; tempting them with money, sex and their heart desires.

Apart from its disconcerting soundtrack that goes:"Karishika karishika! Queen of Darkness, Lucifer Lucifer King of Demons," "Karashika" delivered steady flow of frights that kept most viewers awake at night.

lol you sabi movie

I used to be scared sh*tless of Nollywood films back in the days, I used to hide under duvets and cover my ears to avoid hearing the soundtracks because the music could sometimes be scarier than the movie itself shocked
Koto aye comes to mind

The movie soundtrack send shivers down my spine till today grin

Yes, wow! I remember that.. If my memory serves me correctly.. Teju oyelakin and is it Bimbo Akintola...were in it..
For me, that wasnt as horrific though..

Yeayea. That's it, I didn't find it scary.
But lots of people say it's scary, I just thought I should chip it in.
I have karashika on my phone currently and nothing scary about it. I guess we outgrow the fear grin

greiboy:
Yes, I couldn't sleep well for like two weeks back then
it didn't help that there was a white garment church always drumming at night near where we lived then grin
hold on I thought you are igbo
So you understand yoruba cheesy

Sorry ehn, now you can sleep. Thinking of it now, I wonder what I was watching/listening to in that movie. Because I am sure I didn't really understand what they were saying.

7. LAST BURIAL

Ogbuefi Ozor Nnamani... The greatest on-screen cultist, who refused to be buried.

With several fear-inducing scenes and an famous bone-chilling soundtrack, "Last Burial," a film by Lancelot Imasuen, is a classic with great impact on the horror genre.

There's also the unforgettable image of a dead man sitting in his coffin. The basic premise of "Last Burial" was enough to rob a child or adult of a night rest.

Which of these films are your scariest horror nollywood?

thumb up to the op

I understood the movie perfectly, the soundtrack was my greatest fear but the koto ( well or pit) and the witches parade around it scares the shii out of anybody. The movie was too deep.

Ti Oluwa Ni ile is a movie i cannot forget. When i was still a boy, whenever i saw that scene of that demon eating agidi or eko, she will put a handfull in the mouth and then turn to look at the camera and then a sound follows like "hun-hunnnnnn-unnn" i shriver and ran out of the palour. And the worst thing is that it was during the night when everyone is back at work that we played the VHS. Mehn…it was hell. I dare not stay alone in the dark. Baba Wande really made that movie jare.

Yes, because you ain't Nigerian tongue but the movies were scarier than your average Hollywood movie to most Nigerian kids back then i.e. more scarier than chukie and " I know what you did last summer", or that movie where the kid says" I see dead people"

6. AGBARA NLA

A faith-based movie packed with surreal and still shocking imagery, "Agbara Nla" and most movies by Mount Zion Ministry were so heaven oriented that they left viewers constantly thinking about heaven and hell.

Its scenes were so eerie and unsettling that they are impossible to forget even years after we first saw it.
OP this is the only one i know was kind of scary to me all the others you mentioned were even sort of funny cos they looked faked... Aro metta

The movie that gave me nightmare isn't even on the list: WITCHES. It features Liz Benson and Zack Orji as a couple whose baby is from a demonic group that Liz was once their princess or smth.

Other movies:
IZAGA

SCORES TO SETTLE.

True that! We outgrow many of our childhood fears. But if na for cry..mehn! I won't lie..there are still many movies that their endings make it impossible for me to hold back tears... Infacr those are the only kind of things that has made me cry since childhood... shocked
