Thanks so much for this piece. I really can't fathom what kind of pleasure people derive from demoralizing job applicants. At least you should have waited till when they are done calling people. It's only after that you can pass your judgement on whether the recruitment process was merit based or otherwise. At the moment we really don't need such posts please.

You can not dump anybody from Abba kyari's (presidency) list to say he/she didn't perform well. Except you don't want the recruitment to hold. The DPR team can say anything to an outsider to keep his cool about the whole thing. The young lad that was presumed to be rejected due to poor performance I believe is either the name came in late or the politician that brought the name is not really a top man. My brother, you won't understand until the APLs begins to roll out. It would shock u. FYI, even the candidates with "top connections" (according to you), were told to make sure they score high during the interviews. If u know any, pls confirm this information.

We're stuck in this phase as a country because we have made demigods out of the same people that have oppressed us. Nepotism is the order of the day but that does not mean that political office holders or the supposed cabal cannot be defied. You might just see this as theoretical bullshit considering it can't be applied out there. But until there's a paradigm shift away from such views and an ideological revolution of some sort amongst we the younger generation we'll continue to wallow in suffering as a people and the bad news is that it isn't going to get better . Point to note that not everyone is getting the job, we're all just "hopeful" and since the recruitment process has not showed signs of going down the path of the regular civil service recruitment, allow people to bask in the hope of landing the job at last regardless of any body's manipulations and tyranny. Hope it doesn't hit 500 before APLs start rolling. God have mercy on your children...whether merit based, wayo based, connection based...anything based, they should just release the list so that the unsuccessful ones can move on..I hope next would be the final week...

Even if youre connected you have to do well to be considered. Do well in both exam and interview. Everyone just likes to speculate without knowing much. Most people will be taken on merit. This isnt speculation, its facts cos i know and ive seen

This doing well in exam is what I am yet to relate with. Other than those with special circumstances, was there anyone who didn't meet the cut off bench that they contacted for interview after aptitude test. So except for those with special circumstances that they opened their portal afterwards, everyone did well in the test

I like ur view. Well said. dunno why some pple r always trying to put negative vibes on others. We believe in transparency of dis recruitment to some extent n its a fact dat dere is some transparency. NIMET have recently recruit, av u heard of d advert, so does NCC, BOI, NAMA n so on. At least with DPR,dey gave us a fighting chance, lets respect dat. Rather dan saying what we not sure. Yes we know some pple will definitely be pardoned, bh even even in d after life, nt everyone wil go to paradise on merit.

its a cummulative score. u can easily relate it to when a university put its cut off mark at 200 for eligibility for post jamb. both 201 and 300 scores will b assesed but those scores will b calculated together with their post jamb score.

There is no general cut off mark. It depends on the performance of candidates from your state.

Anambra or Enugu could be as high as 65% and another state could be a low as 15%.

There were other factors involved as well depending on how the state performed overall. For example if a state did well overall theyd have a higher cut off mark or if the quota for that state is small then their cut off mark is higher.

Someone told a friend of mine that the marks allotted for the test and interview were 50 each and according to him this is how we were graded at the interview:
Comportment -max 5 mks
Communication skills - max 5 mks
Professional questions - max 25 mks
General Questions - max 10 mks
Additional qualification -max 5 mks
Total marks for interview - 50

In most cases, they r weighted equally. 50% each.
However, d test and interview score is used for GT.
As For EH, its entirely based on their interview score.

The average of the test and interview is taken. Thats your average mark. Theyll be added and divided by 2. So for example if you got 53% in your test and 60% in your interview, your average is 56.5% and that is very low.

Do you have an idea if the invite for interview was based on a general test performance cutoff score or on state-based cutoff score..

Interview was on general. Had nothing to do with state. The only that mattered for state was the test cut off mark

That's what I asked..

Before we were invited for the interview, I believe there were parameters for cutoff score based on performance in the test.
