Nigeria was created in 1914 and the First Capital was LAGOS. Calabar was capital of what is today the SE and SS until 1914 when Nigeria was created just like Zungeru was capital in the Nortth |

pazienza:Settled by whom for whom? It was settled in my mind a long time ago. Maybe it is now settled in yours. The issue of whether stealing is god or bad is settled,I am sure, for many but not for everyone no doubt |

From all I have read, Calabar was a capital of a region that became one of the constituents of the Nigeria that was amalgamated in 1914. The Northern protectorate was never administered by any government or governor seated in Calabar, just as an Amalgamated Nigeria was never administered by any government or governor seated in Zungeru or Lokoja. When Nigeria was amalgamated, the British chose to run it from the colony government that had been set up in the former colony of Lagos. Hence Lagos was the first seat of government for an amalgamated Nigeria. |
