This is my prefared World Cup list. And I'm sure that the actual one that will be released by Rohr won't be very defferent from it.

GOALKEEPERS: (in no particular order because its the only department that is very much up for ravish by any personnel. About Akpeyi, I still believe he will make the cut but not as first choice because of his exploits at club level. And he will likely get over his psychological issues and lack roof confidence wearing the green jersey)
Ezenwa, Uzoho, Akpeyi.

DEFENDERS: Ekong. Balogun. Awaziem. Shehu. Aina. Idowu. Omeruo. Ebuehi

MIDFIELDERs: Mikel. Ogu. Ndidi. Etebo. Onazi. Joel

FORWARDS: Iheanacho. Moses. Ighalo. S.Moses. Iwobi. Musa

I totally unassumed Joel Obi's injury concerns which earned him the inclusion, with his undisputed quality and how much potency that he brings to our midfield.

Onyekuru Is another talent worth mentioning but his present injury issue which could affect his impressive form and jeopardize his World Cup chances, coupled with his inability to impress Rohr when he was called upon ruled him out for me.

Etebo will outmuscle Messi for us.
Etebo what else can I say.

Vote Etebo for Super Eagles World Cup list

Iwobi does that well enough, so, Etebo cannot convert free kicks?

We don't need to outmuscle Messi, Messi no even get muscle.

Can Etebo convert free kicks? We are lacking there

Can he goal keep? We are having a crisis there.

No dey publicise campaign wey no get strength.......Etebo fit reach Russia now, Rohr no go know wetin he go use am do.

Did you watch Etebo against against Barca?

Seriously I never took TheSuperNerd's gospel of Etebo (Man with 10 lungs) seriously until I saw his showing against Barca.

It is on this basis that I have come to believe he can cause problems to opponents by making them commit fouls against him.

Believe me Etebo has the energy that when properly channelled by the technical crew can cause a lot of problems to opponents.

The energy level wey Etebo get de learn for Iwobi side gringrin

Again check his stats since he got to Las Palmas.

What else does he need to do to convince the tech crew that he is up to the task

Exactly. My major problem with him is his lack of confidence, and it's a big problem for a goalkeeper to have. He may not be as poor as we think he is actually, but there is this fear in him which could be psychological.

Anybody mention Akpeyi here again, I’ll write Rohr and campaign for Chigozie Agbim or Baruwa to be included in the final list.

If a gk can’t deal with his psychological issues when he is between the goal post, what is he doing in the field? Akpeyi should focus on club football.

VAR, Additional Substitutes Approved For Russia 2018 World Cup

The International Football Association Board (IFAB), the body that makes football laws, has approved the use of the Video Assistant Referees for the Russia 2018 World Cup, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

VAR has been heavily criticised recently after its use in the English FA Cup led to delays, yet FIFA will now use the system in their competitions.

The system uses video to immediately review unclear calls during games, with qualified referees taking a second, third or more looks to significantly reduce controversy.

“The International Football Association Board (The IFAB) unanimously approved the use of video assistant referees (VARs) at its 132nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) that took place at FIFA’s headquarters in Zurich today,” IFAB stated on their official website on Saturday.

“This landmark meeting, chaired by FIFA President Gianni Infantino, represents a new era for football with video assistance for referees helping to increase integrity and fairness in the game.

“Prior to taking its decision, the members of The IFAB (the football associations of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, as well as FIFA, representing all other national football associations) were presented with the results of the independent analysis of the use of VARs conducted by Belgian university KU Leuven since the beginning of the VAR experiment in March 2016.

“The philosophy of VARs is ‘minimum interference – maximum benefit’ which aims to reduce unfairness caused by ‘clear and obvious errors’ or ‘serious missed incidents’ in relation to:
Goal / no goal
Penalty / no penalty
Direct red card (not 2nd yellow card/caution)
Mistaken identity (when the referee cautions or sends off the wrong player of the offending team).”The principles of a VAR Implementation Assistance and Approval Programme (IAAP), to be overseen by The IFAB in conjunction with FIFA, was also approved to ensure consistency and quality in competitions that want to use VARs. The IFAB members approved a draft VAR Handbook containing compulsory protocol, principles and requirements, as well as advice on the implementation of VARs, to enable competitions to complete the rigorous mandatory approval process.”

The law-making body also made changes to the use of substitutes during games stretching into extra time, approving the use of a fourth substitute.

“Additional decisions taken at the AGM included allowing the option of an “additional” substitute to be used in extra time, following a two-year experiment conducted in over a dozen competitions around the world, as well as approving the use of electronic and communication equipment in the technical area (small handheld mobile devices), strictly for tactical/coaching purposes and player safety,” IFAB added.

“Members were also updated on the FIFA Quality Programme for electronic performance and tracking systems (EPTS), and confirmed the revised wordings on `denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity (DOGSO)` and `stopping a promising attack (SPA)` which have addressed the so-called “triple punishment” of sending off, penalty and suspension."

VAR was also used at the FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil last year and it has been used in Italy and Germany.
Infantino said during a press conference to announce the decision that “VAR would have a positive impact on the World Cup”.

Mujtahida:

It's very regressive kind of thinking. And yet we'd attack the white man for charities we cannot even extend to ourselves.
Safarigirl look at this scenario: an Igede man is born and brought up in Ondo State and has lived there for 17years.He has very little link with Benue State except the nominal fact that he's from Benue State. Now it's admission time. He wants to apply to Adekunle Ajasin University, Ondo State owned institutions yet they don't want to admit him cos he's not an indigene. He'd have to back to Benue or any Federal University within his catchment area if he is to go to university. Why all the suffering when we can make things easier for ourselves?

Let's change the policy first for the man who has put roots down in a place. After that we have gained that foothold we can proceed to make laws for the waka waka man. Incremental changes. You get?

Lol, so na me you want take do example abi? hahahaha.

As an Igede man, I was born and bred in the West, I have never spent up to a year in Benue state, I've also spent more than a decade in the North as well. And a some time out there, so you see, it's kind of difficult for people like us to identify with one of those cultures we've been exposed to.

It won't be as easy as you're suggesting o, with how complicated the country currently is.

Our major problem is the enormous level of illiteracy in the country even within the schooled. If we have an appreciable number of us were literates, we would have challenged the status quo years ago and made necessary changes.

We're paying for the lackadaisical attitude of our past leaders in securing our borders against those foreign hooligans who had always been trouble and had continue to be troublesome, they corrupted our people closer to them and as a result all we have for them alike is animosity.

Those who would take advantage of this won't be who you'd like, since some set of people believe the country is theirs to dominate, they would use any means necessary to achieve their goals which only favors the ruling Class amongst them

The Monarchs and religious leaders are not even helping matters.

I'm trying as much as I can do be reserved with my diction, because I know where I am and what I've seen.

Truth of the matter is, Nigeria is not ready for such and the bitter truth is that we'd never be ready.

somehow:
If Etebor is to make the list to the WC, which position is he likely to perform best at and who's to be sacrificed for him?

Because it seems Amadu and the NFF indirectly wants him in Russia based on the fact that he gets to play against major players from our group opponents and he's also doing well so far.
Box to box or left/right attacking midfielder. The position will enable him run like he likes to, attack, shoot and it would fit his defensive contribution. Thereby limiting his weakness in terms of creativity. With his recent performance he's improved on his creative side greatly. I would not rule him out of the AMF role, one bad game dosent mean he can't do it. He would prove doubters wrong like Awaziem.
