cindermum: Apply as soon as you possible. If they ask why you came all the way to Nigeria to apply, tell them it was because you wanted your mum to apply with you. 1 Like |

kafcakes: Airbnb can be a gamble but you can try again. Always read other peoples' reviews and don't pick a place that is newly listed without reviews. Also choose superhost if possible....superhosts have a reputation to protect...and check the cancellation policy o...for some places the first 28 days rent is forfeit even if you cancel. Sorry about your experience. |

julzz: I think they are referring to the letter of consent that shows that the father/parents are giving their permission for baby to apply for visa. 1 Like |

Hello Gurus in the house, I must thank you all for all the good work...this thread has helped thousands! Thanks again. Please I need advice to resolve issues surrounding below experience: *Please bear with me I'm not too sure if this is the right thread to post this* My wife on a B1/B2 visa had her baby in the US in December 2017 and we made sure to clear all the medical bills (zero balance). Before she traveled, we wrote the US embassy in ABJ to notify them of our intent of which they responded that it was OK to have a baby on that class of visa as long as we can cover the bills. Fast forward, just last week, I landed Heathrow to connect a flight to JFK New York. At the airline desk, a gentleman, probably an airport official or immigration officer (not sure who he was working for) approached me and asked directly "Your wife just had a baby not too long ago in the US, YES or NO?" I answered YES that I was infact on my way to the US to bring them back...that I was only staying for 9days (showed him my return ticket). He asked me to wait and got on the phone then came back to me after ~10mins and told me unfortunately I would not be allowed to board the aircraft to JFK, that that's the directive from Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and that my VISA has been cancelled . When I asked why? He said I should direct my question to the US embassy in my country. So my brothers & sisters, that is how I was put on the next flight back to Lagos (had to wait for 4hours). I arrived Nigeria the next day and called the ABJ embassy, I was redirected to Lagos embassy...the lady that I spoke with apologized for any inconveniences caused and asked me to send a mail to LagosNIV and copy the ABJ address too stating what actually happened. Lagos responded with a directive to contact DHS TRIP, that they alone can resolve this issue. I have filled out a complaint form on the website and have been waiting for their response. Is there any other thing thing I can do? What does this really mean? cos up till now e still be like Nigerian film to me. Gurus in the house, abeg over to you. Many thanks in advance. |

kalelbinl: Hmmm Na wah o! Your name must have been flagged by homeland security, for whatever reasons I can't fathom at the moment. Was your wife asked if she was pregnant when she applied for the visa? I think you are on the right track in trying to get answers. At times these people make mistakes too. I've heard of someone who was sent back as a result of a mistaken Identity,so if you've checked yourself and can't truly find any reason for this, then I'll advise you follow it up to a logical conclusion. Best of luck |

Hi all, Does usa give ban if u dont declare purpose of travel and for how long? Scenerio- all birth payments were made and user did not overstay. A friend of mine birthed in usa 2015 on a b1/b2 visa . she lied she was not pregnant during the interview and poe. She paid all hospital bill and also did not overstay. There is a training opportunity in her office but she is scared to indicate interest cos of visa stuff. |
