Agu in a 23 man list? Is Agu even likely to make the 23 man list in the first place?
Loogan:

We don't have any AM good enough to do the job apart from mikel, so he would not be affecting an AM but a DMF. Out of the DMs Agu looks the most likely to lose a place, etebo's dynamism is crucial.

This was a young goalie majority of us here were carrying head high as the best choice for Russia, just because of 45mins action from a friendly.

Some even said he had no weaknesses.

It is obvious we did not know him well enough
It's obvious now. We don't have gk. That's our fate. It's unfortunate that such a fine team should be open at the back. But I still believe oo. I believe in the team

Shehu is not a RB, he's just a makeshift RB. Ndidi also played there once and if not for just one blunder that almost led to a goal against Zambia, He had a great game as a RB.

Before the double header against Cameroon, Shehu didn't impress most of us as a RB, as he hardly contributed anything to the attack in our game against SA thereby leaving the Simon stranded most of the time.

And till date he's not the perfect RB.

I've seen some analysts come up with analysis that makes me wonder. Shehu is best suited for a 4-man defence and Ebuehi is better off with a 3-man defence. NONSENSE!

Ebuehi at his club plays at the right side of a 4-man defence week in week out for his club. He adds more to the team attackwise not forgetting his primary responsibility as a defender.

I'd definitely go with the full package if presented with a choice, giving no space for sentiments.

Either will an an Hausa man who was born and raise in Anambra win a councilor ship post there. we have no identity as a unit for now so it will continue.

Until we have one major factor that unites us more than our ethnic affiliation, this won't change.

America have one unifying factor which is to be great and remain a world power as long as possible and that alone succeeds who you're as a person as long as you are fit to make this factor a reality.

The major unifying factor of a nation is Language. The major dignifying factor is multiple language language.

God self knows hence he disunified mankind through language. Gen 11 vs 7. Oyinbo self no this hence the the amalgamation of Nations to form countries which is bringing confusion.

Seriously I never took TheSuperNerd's gospel of Etebo (Man with 10 lungs) seriously until I saw his showing against Barca.

It is on this basis that I have come to believe he can cause problems to opponents by making them commit fouls against him.

Believe me Etebo has the energy that when properly channelled by the technical crew can cause a lot of problems to opponents.

The energy level wey Etebo get de learn for Iwobi side gringrin

Hey guys plsss come on... Give Etebo a break aiit... We know his recent games in the GWG was nothing close to spectacular but don't forget how good he came against Algeria in Uyo. Please.

Etebo's problem is that he is a Jack of all trades and master of just 2 (CDM/box2box and LM). In other roles, we only get to see a below average Etebo who may make some of us ask what the f**k he is doing wearing our national team jersey.

Etebo is a special talent aiit... A lad with 8 lungs (Sir Terzurum5 think I said 10... Well maybe it is 10 afterall)... Onazi got 4 lungs... Ndidi got 7... Lol... Fact is Etebo is a true life power force and a super bull. Buuuuuuuutttttttt.....

But the thing is this.... WE GOT TO FIND THE BEST WAY TO PLAY ETEBO IN THE SUPER EAGLES... AND THAT I THINK WE HAVE FOUND ALREADY. Dude is more of an LM (Olympic games experience) and a CDM (his most effective role in the Super Eagles so far).
His experiment in the AM role was a failure. He doesn't have the creativity for the role. He is limited there.

In the LM/LW role (which he also featured in for Feirense in Portugal), we have options in Iwobi and co... So that leaves him with the CDM role(s) as a CM as part of a double pivot or as a box-to-box MF.

So plsss guys and ladies, cut Etebo some slack and understand that his playing in LA liga is actually an added advantage for our team if he makes the plane to Russia. I use "IF" coz I maintain for now that only Mikel, Ndidi and Onazi are sure bets for Russia in the midfield dept. The other 2-3 slots are still up for grabs among the likes of John Ogu, Etebo, Mikel Agu, Joel Obi and who again?

We hope Rohr limits Etebo to the C/DM role and make the best of him there as his boundless Kryptonian energy and endurance levels will be well channelled into our midfield as a solid back-up option to the undisputed starters. The LM/LW role is occupied. No space for him there in a 4-2-3-1 or even in a 4-4-2.

So that's it. Etebo is in with a shout to Russia based on his strong performances in LA liga but let the friendlies do the most talking.

Like a lady here wisely put it... Your club performances may get you invites but it is your performances in the GWG that earns you a shirt in the team in the long run

SO FREE ETEBO... He is doing well and we hope he brings that to the Eagles when given the chance to play again in the friendlies to convince us further of his relevance to the team. Thank you. smiley

Are any of these guys better than the Yobo of past.

The fact we are considering below average players as our first choice tells us something is wrong with our football.

We just don't seem to have the quality we once use to have.

It's a case of, if the desirable is not available then the available becomes desirable.

This same yobo was there when angola beat us to qualify for the world cup in germany 2006

This same yobo was also there when we were embarrassed at 2010 world cup against the likes of south korea and greece

The same yobo was there and played a prominent role in the AFCONs we failed to win. It was only when keshi gave him seat belt on the bench that we were able to win the 2013 afcon

If my memory serves me right mr yobo's last meaningful contribution to the super eagles was scoring an own goal against us for france. So please leave us to manage our so called less quality defenders

This is my prefared World Cup list. And I'm sure that the actual one that will be released by Rohr won't be very defferent from it.

GOALKEEPERS: (in no particular order because its the only department that is very much up for ravish by any personnel. About Akpeyi, I still believe he will make the cut but not as first choice because of his exploits at club level. And he will likely get over his psychological issues and lack roof confidence wearing the green jersey)
Ezenwa, Uzoho, Akpeyi.

DEFENDERS: Ekong. Balogun. Awaziem. Shehu. Aina. Idowu. Omeruo. Ebuehi

MIDFIELDERs: Mikel. Ogu. Ndidi. Etebo. Onazi. Joel

FORWARDS: Iheanacho. Moses. Ighalo. S.Moses. Iwobi. Musa

I totally unassumed Joel Obi's injury concerns which earned him the inclusion, with his undisputed quality and how much potency that he brings to our midfield.

Onyekuru Is another talent worth mentioning but his present injury issue which could affect his impressive form and jeopardize his World Cup chances, coupled with his inability to impress Rohr when he was called upon ruled him out for me.

Sadiq Umar just turned 21 years, still under 23.... He was 19 when he played the olympics. There is little doubt about his age, he is genuinely a small boy.
