I am EH and I uploaded my Postgrad Degree when we were asked to update our profile. During the interview I was asked for professional membership (the panelist specifically asked for ACCA, ADA or ICAN) and Postgrad qualifications. I do not have any of the mentioned Professional membership but luckily for me, I have my MSc in Oil and Gas Business and the head of the interview panel looked at the other panelist and said that will do. I deduce therefore that for EH, Postgrad Degree and Professional membership are determining criteria for success. I left the interview very happy that day.

Not so for GT o! As a GT, you can't upload anything other than Bachelor's degree but yet they were asking for 2nd degree.

As a GT I was asked if I have any degree in view to which I told them yea and currently on PTDF scholarship.

Hello fellas, could it be that the non passage of the 2018 Budget is affecting this recruitment? A couple of weeks ago the Senate committee on Petroleum Upstream questioned the top management of DPR on how the new recruits will be remunerated since the amount appropriated for is the same as that of last year (N34billion) and the Department told them they will augment with the leftover of last year's Budget to cater for us. Therefore, I think one of the major obstacles slowing our possible resumption is the Budget. Until the Budget is signed by Mr. President, my gut feeling is that we've got to be very patient.

If that's the case Sir, don't you think the OND guys would still be waiting?

Hello guyz,

Does anyone have an idea how DPR would balance the need for diversity (FCC/State quota) with the vacancies needed to be filled for each discipline?

From my understanding of how the system runs, it may not take much funds for the OND guys who number about 100 to resume work unlike over 300 GT and EH who will require an average of about 5mil each (just being conservative here) for start up. Considering that there is still a balance from the 2017 budget, I guess the ONDs can easily be absorbed at this time but for the graduates, more funds are needed for them to resume because up-front and some other allowances must be paid to the new entrants. This is just my humble logical opinion.

I understand ur viewpoint Sir, it carries weight. However, In my humble opinion the department can still absorb the remaining man power needed (GT & EH) and start us up. The incoming budget will serve to cushion the effect (if any) caused by the intake requirements. Well, whichever the case, debating such won't hasten or slow down the process. Let's just remain optimistic, the pieces of the puzzle are coming together and the picture is almost complete. Congratulations to us in advance.

All these unnecessary arguments are boring cry,
Good morning,
I would like to call to your attention that this is a very insensitive comment.
No one forced you to be here, so if you find the arguments unnecessarily boring, do the needful. And by the way, it all these arguments that you called unnecessary have kept this thread alive for like two years now. If not for them, this thread would have been somewhere on nairaland rotten away.
Another thing is, years to come, this thread will help the new applicants greatly. Imagine we have a thread this long from other recruitment years. At least our anxiety will be reduced as we will know how patient we should be.
You can't just come here and ask question without due regard for the people like we owe you an answer. Even if you read some pages before commenting, I am sure you must have seen enough speculations about 'possible dates' they will contact, but no, you sha won show over seriousness.

But I think what they need to pay just 2-3 months salaries and some other things should not be a problem, they should be able to accommodate the new recruits before the signing of this year's budget.
For them to suggest first quarter, I think they know for the past may be 10 years, no budget has been signed within the first quarter.
I don't think resumption has anything to do with budget signing.
just my opinion...

Were you asked for professional membership?
I was asked, though someone (DPR staff) said it is not one of the metrics for assessing GTs.

Trust me, when shove comes to push, it will become a criteria. for those that were asked about their masters, it was because they provided that information on their portal. if you were in human resource and you had two candidates to access, both scored the same in the aptitude test and interview, and they were also both high. If you had to pick one candidate, what would you do?

In my own opinion, apart from Gods grace, the interview and the aptitude test score, some other factors will definitely affect the fate of a lot of candidates. if you saw the way DPR went about that documentation on interview day, you should realize by now that the status of a candidates documentation will ultimately affect the candidate's chances of success in this exercise
