As we speak the akwa ibom youth sports festival is ongoing in uyo, where 12,000 athelet's from all primary and secondary schools in the state are in camp competing for laurels at a world class facility. Tell me how those kids will not grow up dreaming to do great things.

And I know you have been watching the Nigerian super Eagles play and qualify for Russia 2018 with pride from that stadium.

Stadium and churches get people excited in the state. The project is popular from Nairaland consensus last time I checked. The state building 8500 seat church as well. It's amazing what you see prioritized.

I would rather have them upgrade airport, upgrade power plant and break ground for industrial city, Get OGFZ approved, pressure FG on ALSCON etc. Who cares about jobs and infrastructure. We have God and football.

They end up burning diesel to compensate.

The international airport operation will save state money flying players and save Travelers like myself time. I won't need to stop in Port Harcourt if I can get nonstop flight to Akwa I wanted to go to. Thing MRO and cargo operations at airport don't make headline even though they are more useful.

I think no need for a stadium since it's a sort of suburban settlement .A recreational community center with track & soccer field, swimming pool,Basketball court, Tennis courts etc, with a few 100 or thousand seats ,perhaps indoors would be much better at the same price. It could serve a population of at least 70,000. A place for public recreation,Olympic trials, and could also be used for minor tournaments such as All African games. Those of you who live in developed nations know what i'm talking about .
And the roads should have markings ,sidewalks and basic traffic signs such as :Stop , School zone, speed limit .Don't forget to cover the drainage (gutter) with the sidewalk . Examine my sketch and go do your homework. Replicate that in all the communities or towns .

Also ,do not forget to ban and criminalize street hawking ,child labor,littering, and just random street loitering .

Bros, save your energy defending Udom. When Akpabio was there, he didn't employ marketers to market his image; he wasn't spreading billboards everywhere to tell people what he has done for Akwa Ibomites. When a government start struggling to let the people know what they have done only means there is something wrong with them and that is the government of Udom. Udom's government is simply media hype. If he can abandon Uyo - Ikot Ekpene Road that neared completion by Akpabio then I'm afraid of him.

He has virtually abandon all uncompleted project of the last administration to pursue his own which I know he'll never complete many of them till he leaves office. But I don't blame him, I blame the man that foisted him on Akwa Ibom people. Even him is also regretting his actions today. So spare me all these, it doesn't change the fact that he's a failure.

As much as i like Akpabio, his one great fault is that he talks too much. Udom on the other hand is a much reserved gentleman. I appreciate him for that.
Akpabio was a master in using the media to promote himself and even promote incomplete projects as if they were complete, If the world knew 1/2 of what Udom is quietly doing in less than 3 yrs in Akwa ibom,they will be amazed.

What will you say if i tell you that this is not even the only stadium under construction by Gov. Udom. remember the former Uyo township stadium that was banned By NPFL from hosting matches before former gov. Akpabio was forced to build the New Nest of Champions? Yes Gov udom is renovating that old stadium in Uyo with new tartan tracks, artificial turf and seats all brand new.

He is also building 10 new mini stadia in 10 secondary schools in each of the 10 federal constituencies in the state.of which one has already been completed and put to use, and 9 others are in several stages of completion.

Have you heard of our Darling team, Akwa United the Number one soccer team in Nigerian Leauge? if you haven't, may I inform you that the team is currently in the City of Sfax in Tunisia representing and flying the flag of Nigeria in The CAF confederation competition as we speak.

The Nest of Champions is the Home Of the two time NPFL confederation cup championship team, and games are played there weekly.
Besides there is Akwa Ibom Youth Sports festival that you choose to ignore, is ongoing at the Beautiful stadium as we speak.

I just gave you an example of good maintenance culture in sports infrastructure in Akwa Ibom. But you are ignoring that glaring fact!
