This story is based on my imagination and i need your comment to keep posting.

Episode 1


He waked up late in the morning very exhausted, yawning heavily he mumbled to himself.

‘’omo nah waoo, how I take commot from the club self’’. Kelvin’s mind went back to the club last night he went outside the school campus.



His so called friends were discussing about girls they have succeeded in talking to and they were also drinking.



Late into the night, his friend began to challenge him that he cannot drink, they put bottles of stars.

They told him that if he is able to drink 5 bottle without being drunk, they will drink 20 bottles.



Kelvin who was not used to drinking of alcohol, find an excuse to escape from the scenario. By the way he was forced to come to the club because his friends thought he was too shy.





Kelvin: Omo I deh go, I get lecture for 8 am tomorrow.



Jona: See you you wan run you be woman ni. You too the deh fear



Kelvin: ‘’You no say I be bad guy’’, he bragged. If no be say I get lecture tomorrow ehn. You for see wetin I for do to this bottles, with that statement he picked one and gulped it down. He continued like that till he finished all the bottles just to impress his friends.



He friends who looked puzzled; rather than being impressed were very amazed at the rate he took the liquor.



The next thing that happened was a long story for the gods, after taking numerous bottles he staggered to get up. Unfortunately, he started seeing stars, the next thing he could remember is total blackout.



That is how Kelvin found himself on his bed.



Kelvin mumbled again to himself. ‘’this thing I no go take am like that again ooh’’ He would have went a heard to prepare for lecture but the time for that day lecture has passed and he is very tired.

He cleaned the mess in his room and went to take his bath. When he finish taking his bath, he dressed up and picked his phone to do some chatting. He saw four missed calls on the screen of his phone.



This was from one of his friends who is trying to lure him into bad baddo baddest habits like excessive drinking and some science student mixing of grass you understand.



His friend tried to get him out of shyness, so one day when he gave him some drink, mhen, Kelvin was in another world he could talk to any girl without being nervous but when the thing fade away he came back to his normal self.



Kelvin called his friend back.



Kelvin: hello



Bob: Hello, how you deh now



Kelvin: my guy I deh ooh



Bob: Guy you nearly die yesterday night ooh, you got us frightened



Kelvin: Na una push me nah



Bob: you were quick to react



Kelvin: no be small thing, guy I come the see different types, colour, size of stars can you imagine to be a science student hard small ooh.



Bob: haha (he laughed) you have not even done anything yet and you are shouting science student the hard. Anyhow sha I called you that time just to know how you deh now. Make I no finish your card. We go see tomorrow in school.



Kelvin: Ok now, with that he cut the call and went back to his chatting after the phone cell got low. He dropped it and started thinking about tomorrow lecture, it gonna be nervous all through as usual, he thought. Which day I go change from this trait self no matter how hard I try the shy nature still deh.



When he was having this thought PHCN brought light. He played and sang along with Akon’s ‘’Locked Up’’.



He dressed up early in the morning for lecture. He checked his time now and then, because he don’t want to be late to classes especially Mr. Agbadi lectures. He could vividly remember the day he came late to this particular lecturer’s class. He walked into the class with his head bowed.



Mr. Agbadi who noticed called him.

Mr. Agbadi: You come here



Kelvin pretend to have not heard him, he called Kelvin again with a big word which makes the other students laughed so hard, for them they are enjoying themselves but for Kelvin it was a hell, he started sweating profusely.



Kelvin walked back to the lecturer and mumbled an apology. Mr. Agbadi who was very strict with students. But on seeing Kelvin he cautioned him against coming late to class, with that he summoned him to his seat. The other students were very amazed. Some whispers to themselves



Kate: Omo this guy get luck ooh



Vivian: if for say he deh for his bad self today throughout the semester the guy for stand out side the receive lecture. The lecturer on seeing the commotion barked.



Mr. Agbadi: Keep quiet, and every became quiet like a cemetery. If a person drop a pin you will hear the sound.



To the present, Kelvin trekked from Baba Yaro’s Hostel to the lecture hall, he came early but still meet other student. As a quiet person he took his phone and began to play with it. While others were discussing about the happening in Nigeria Music Industry or nollywood. He would have liked to join in the conversation but he just sat there with his phone.



Hello is the female voice he heard, he raised his head up to behold the owner of the voice

Episode 2

Hello the girl said again.

Kelvin: Hi

Emily: (Emily is the girl’s name) how are you doing.

Kelvin: Am am doing we……ll (he stammered)

Emily seems make things worse for Kelvin, when he was praying in his heart for her just go and leave him alone.

Emily: Can I sit down

Kelvin: (To himself) ‘’yawa don gas ooh), how I go take talk to her now’’, all these ran through his mind. Sure, you can sit.

Emily sat down leaving a little gap between them she started staring at him, maybe for him to raise a conversation but none was forth coming. He noticed that he is being stared by the girl.

Numerous thoughts ran through his mind. ‘’this girl fit the think say I wowo’’. Sweat started forming on his face.

He just sat there without raising any conversation. The girl was feeling bored so she took her cell phone and devouring latest celebrity news.

A few minutes later the lecturer arrived, all the students began to locate where to sit and were all settled down in some pace of seconds.

The lecturer began his lecture. He started with the definition of Political Science. He was a very lousy lecturer who likes to deal with any student who disobeyed him. One thing about Mr. Tobi is that he tries to go into detail in every of his lecture.

Mr. Tobi: I have stood here and lecture you about the definition, and all you need to know about Political science. So, I want a student to tell us what political science mearnt. A student stood up and gave the definition.

The lecturer was seduced by the girl’s prettiness. He devised a way to get her.

Mr. Tobi: That was excellent, What is your name

Student: Mirabel sir. She said seductively

With the intention still in his mind, another idea came to his mind.

Mr. Tobi: Students if anyone of you have questions or you need much explanation about any topic, kindly come to my office. He knew that Mirabel will surely come.

He asked another question this time very stiff, none of the student could give an answer. Kelvin knew the answer but he was feeling nervous of standing up to answer, ‘’make man no go fall hand, all this people weh feel lecture hall like this make I come stand the yarn rubbish. Make I sit jare’’. So, he just sat there staring at empty space.

Unfortunately, Kelvin tried hard not to have eye contact with Mr. Tobi. But there eye met, he changed his gaze immediately with his heart pounding heavily.

Mr. Tobi: You stand up (Kelvin just looked at him like he was not the one he pointed). Are you deaf am talking to you, he shouted this time around.

Kelvin with great difficulty stood up, he was becoming weak due to his nervous state. He managed to answer the question correctly amidst stammers.

The lecturer was amazed and stood still for a moment wondering how a student can answer a question so well.

Mr. Tobi: You knew the answer and you kept quiet. Now student he continued we are going to call it a day. He told them to go and make research on a topic and failure to give an accurate answer in the next class will lead to loss of marks.

Lecture came to an end, student’s disperse in various direction. As Kelvin was going his friend, the one at the club the other day called him.
Jona: Hey how far, you deh rush home without even looking for me again bah.

Kelvin: Why I go find you. Who you epp.

Jona: forget that slang joh. I wan yarn you something.

Kelvin: What again, the last time you yarn me something na faint I faint commot from the club.

Jona: This one no be drink again sha. This one nah about girl. See if you want a girl friend I can arrange one for you. You can’t be staying like this and you don’t have a girlfriend. Let me tell you something person like me bah I the control like 10 girls now and you deh here the fumble.

Kelvin: I no deh for that one. I no fit approach them not to talk of starting a conversation.

Jona: I fit talk to one for you.

Kelvin: No no (he shouted). As he was about to voice out the next statement, he saw the Emily coming to their direction. He just stood there staring, thinking of an escape route.

Jona: What are you staring at like that (his eye caught a glimpse of the approaching girl). He smiled like a fool. ‘’Abi you like her, make I arrange her for you now’’.

The girl got to the spot they stood.

Emily: Oga (talking to Kelvin) you no even look for me again.

Kelvin was like ‘’which day that one start’’. What do you? He pretended not to have heard her.

Jona who already noticed that Kelvin is nervous took control of the situation as a sharp guy.

Jona: Hi, am Jonathan, Jona for short and here is my friend Kelvin, Kel for short.

Emily: Nice to meet you (not even looking at him).

Jona: how was the lecture, were you bored about the lecture.

Emily: The lecture was good but when the man mention research I was like ‘’what is this’’

Jona: I can help with that. Kelvin knew that his friend was lying. His friend barely focus on his own book. He helped him out every time they is any assignment.

Emily: I appreciate that but I want this my guy.( Pointing at Kelvin some how seductively). to help me out.

Kelvin: Me ke, project ni (he managed to voice out).

Emily: please now, why you deh do like this

Jona gave Kelvin a hint to agree through eye contact.

Kelvin: ok ooh I hear.

Emily: where your address come deh

Kelvin: Address keh. We go use school library.

Emily: No it will be very noisy.

After much persuasion he agreed, but gave Emily a wrong address. He was very thoughtful of what will happen in close doors. Jona was very upset about what his friend just did.

Jona: Guy make I no lie you, you fall level.

Kelvin: How I take fall level now

Jona: So you no even know

It came to the place they parted ways. Jona went to a club nearby but Kelvin went to his lodge. He don’t want to engage in any club thing again.

When he arrived at his lodge, he just lied down on his bed thinking about all the scene that take place in the day. With all this thoughts he will not be able to sleep. The only solution for him is just to fantasize and in a little while he will fall asleep.

Episode 3.

The next day was Saturday, he was alone in his room, it was getting boring for him. It would have been better if they is light. But NEPA people no the help matter this days. He just laid on his bed contemplating whether to go out or not. One thought told him to go out, but the other told him that if he go out people will stare at him and criticize him, so he followed the first thought and just lay on his bed counting ceiling.

After many thought, and the boredom was too much for him. He decided to go to a nearby Bet9ja shop not to stake games but to just watch football match. The match was between Chelsea and Arsenal. Arsenal 3 goals to nil. Chelsea fans was so upset because to them the coach made a very huge mistake by dropping Batshuayi. Man United fans in the hall did not give Chelsea fans a breathing space.

Kelvin did not talk but just concentrate on his football match. He was very happy his darling Club Arsenal is winning the Almighty Blues. Some of the Chelsea fan who stake Chelsea to win were all shouting. ‘’Kai my ticket don burn, Conte e no go better for you’’, while all the Man U fans tease them the more.

It got to a point that fight wanted to break out, Kelvin was thinking ‘’should I go or I should not go, make I chillax joh.’’

The owner of the shop have to intervene before those planning to fight stop. The match came to an end and Arsenal take the lead by adding another goal to make four. Ozil was their hero, he scored all the goals in that game.

Kelvin hurriedly went out to avoid conversation about the football match. He don’t know how to keep up with conversation. So he went home straight and by this time the NEPA has brought light. He love to watch Telenovella and India films, he inserted 3 idiots in the CD. Whenever he sees girls in the film he develops this habit of imagining of being with them and every time he sleeps in the night he saw himself in a movie precisely the India movie with the same girls he imagined of been with in the day time. Half way into the film, he heard a knock.

He was taken aback because he was not expecting anybody so he was reluctant to open the door. ‘’make I open am or leave self’’. The knocking came again, he have to open the door. Reluctantly he heard the knob and open it gently. Who he saw makes him to freeze immediately.

By the door was standing Emily, ‘’What, who gave her my real address which kin wahala be this nah’’. Words were not coming from his mouth as he just stared at the floor like a child whose mummy is given instruction to. Emily was surprised.

Emily: Won’t you let me in or you wan make I stand here all day.

Kelvin: eh ehe ………… eh (he stammered) sorry come inside

Emily: You gave me wrong address. Why you deh do like this nah.

Kelvin: Wrong ke, address ni (Kelvin was surprised at the boldness he just displayed).

Emily: Anyhow, you got a nice room. What movie are you watching.

Kelvin: 3 idiots (he said this staring at the floor).

Emily: That movie those days when we were in secondary school.

Kelvin heart was beating fast ‘’make anything no happen, the way this babe come dress the tempt son of man bah’’. Emily noticed that he was always staring at the floor.

Emily: wetin you put for floor now, you no the look up. By this time the movie has come to a love scene.

She wanted to test Kelvin, she put her hand on Kelvin’s back.

Emily: That research you said you will help me with. You no even talk about am again.

Kelvin: nah me go talk about am or you (Kelvin is gradually dropping is shyness, this time he was ready to take action, he can’t stand the laughter Jona will give him, if he ever hear of it).

Emily was now rubbing his back, Kelvin too respond and they did what God said is necessary for man and woman.

After some time, Emily stood up to go.

Kelvin: When are you coming back for the research (He was again surprised for the second time on how he can say that; is this a miracle).
Emily: Every day.

Kelvin: What? (in his mind, ‘’you wan kill son of man).

Kelvin just bade her good bye. But Emily did not give in, she asked him to escort her to the main gate. But he refused. He can’t stand the stares from the his neighbours ‘’what will they think about me, that am now a bad guy’’. No I can’t escort her. This thoughts ran through his mind.

She just slam the door and went out.

Kelvin: Nawa ooo nah me carry you come. Mtchewww. See her back self’’.

After some time Kelvin think of what to do but. Every thought that came to his mind he threw it off.


‘’now ever since my birth have been cursed to whirl. In case I never got the chance to holla at my unborn child. Many things learnt in prison. Blessing still living. Trying to earn every penny am getting am reminisce’’. That was his phone ringing.

He picked the call.

Jona: Guy how far nah

Kelvin: Nigga I deh.

Jona: Emily come your side bah.

Kelvin: so na you tell her my address

Jona: She too the disturb me, she found out that you gave her a wrong address.

Kelvin: ok oo

Jona: So, what happen nah.

Kelvin: Wetin nah guy.

Jona: Guy no fall hand ooh, don’t let what am thinking be true ooh.

Kelvin: What are you thinking nah

Jona: you no do wetin they the do for under the duvet. (In Harrison voice)

Kelvin: Yes I do her do her (In Falz the bad guy voice).

Episode 5
The D-day was here, Kelvin woke up with a smile on his face not a good smile, but one that depict his stupidity in the last night.
As usual he was forced to go and catch some fun by his friend Jona, who teases him always about being shy; knowing in his mind that at heart Kelvin can be a very bad gee.
They went to a place called Love Paradise outside the school premises. Jona saw some of his homies and went to do obeisance to them before returning to his guy who has being standing like log of woods.
Jona: Guy nah flexing things ooh
Kelvin: What did you say (pretends not to hear him, cause he didn’t want to flex, he was feeling nervous already).
Jona who sited a very fine girl wearing a short skirt that shows her flabby laps and a show-me-your-back shirt passing by, he walked to her and started a conversation.
Jona: Hi
Rita (The girl’s name): hi, what can I do for you.
Jona: Nothing, is just that my friend there want to talk with you (he said this pointing at Kelvin).
‘’Ok’’, the girl replied and was coming towards Kelvin.
Kelvin who saw what was has just happened and the approaching girl, took to his heel and almost shouting. ‘’omo, see werey werey nah me this Jona guy wan kill’’.
The girl was so stunned, and a little bit embarrassed, she taught Jona and his friend was playing some kind of child game with her, but she got it wrong. Jona was only trying to help his friend overcome his shyness.
He couldn’t believe what has just happened, he went to apologize to the girl for his friend stupidity. When he was about speaking. A dirty slap landed on his cheek. All eye fell on him because the sound of the slap was too loud.
The girl hissed and went out.
Jona: Nah me this little brat slap like this because of this Jew called Kelvin, we go see nah, chai Jona, oga Jona you don suffer’’. He ranted a loud and went out very upset.
Kelvin smiling face suddenly turned to a sullen face, he just remembered that today the student in Political Science Department will not only submit the research they have made on the topic given to them by the lecturer but also stands to discuss about the research they have made in front of hundreds of student and that was what he dreaded most in his life.
He don’t feel comfortable talking in the midst of five persons not talking of hundreds of students glaring at only him.
He tries to give himself some courage, ‘’anyhow, I go still do am, people like the lecturer weh the stand the give lectures no get two heads, but come think of it ooh, the lecturer nah professional’’. Which kind thing be this self. All this thought played prank in his mind which left him very moody.
He dressed up slowly, this thought of facing a large crowd of students made him very weak.
After he dressed up, he put on his ear piece and hummed along with the beats of Eminem’s ‘’Am Not Afraid’’.
He arrived at the school premises a bit early, but few students where already they gisting and talking endlessly about trending issues as usual. Kelvin was thoughtful. ‘’instead to go think about this research saga, you deh their the gist about Banky W. weh marry Adesua. He hissed.
Jona walked into the hall with lots of swags, many girls were hailing him. This make him feel very big, he ignite more swags into his steps. He saw Kelvin and went over to confront him about the last night. Kelvin head was bent on his phone, jona tap him on his shoulder with a frown face.
Jona: Nah which drama you come do yesternight
Kelvin: Which drama now, I no deh for any drama club for school nah.
Jona: See, as a friend I go deh gentle with you that nah why I no go do you anything but your matter don the full cup ooh, wetin make you run from the club like person who the compete first position with Usain Bolt for Olympics. Kelvin laughed out loud.
Jona: Wetin the make you laugh now
Kelvin who controlled himself to stop the laughter a bit. ‘’so you wan disgrace me for the girl front, omoh liver no gum your guy ooh, that nah why I pick race.
The lecturer walked into the hall with enthusiasm like a person who just shop bet9ja.
Jona: Guy we go yan latter’’. He said after siting the lecturer.
Mr. Agbadi: hello Student, I hope you have all made research on the topic I gave to you people in our last lecture. So we are going to it this way, if the course rep calls your name, you should come and lecture us with that he went to sit down.
The first person name was called, he walked majestically mimicking the lecturer. He did his presentation well and he went to sit down.
The second person also did well.
Course Rep: The next person is (Kelvin heart was pounding hard, that his heart jump out of his chest) Kelechi, he heaved a sign of relief.
Kelechi walked to the stage sluggishly with his head bent, he was very stage fright in all his presentation he didn’t said a single word until he was sent out of the stage.

Course Rep: The next person on the list is Ayomide Kelvin
Kelvin was like ‘’omo I don happen’’ he summon little courage he has been trying hard to overcome his shyness’’. He tried to practice what he has being reading on ‘’Wikihow’’ on ‘’how to overcome shyness’’ one of the step is raising of head when walking.
He stood up, raising his head up, his posture was okay at first, but when he stared into his course mates peering eyes, he loses balance and he began to walk sluggishly, sweat was pouring out from his face and body like water.
He made up his mind not to have contact with them, he managed to walk to the stage.
Throughout his presentation, he kept his eye glued to his book. He walked back to his sit very elated this time around because the lecturer commend him for his good presentation.
He couldn’t believe he was able to stand in front of a massive crowd of students ‘’anyhow sha, I nno raise my head up, that nah why I no fumble’’. He told himself.
One student who was sitting next to him hailed him in low voice as he sat down.
Emeka: Guy you try ooh
Kelvin: omo no be small thing
Emeka: how you do all these research, you be book wizard
Kelvin: book wizard keh
Emeka: See as you analyze everything
Kelvin: ehh (he don’t know what to say further again).
The lecture came to an end with the lecturer commending and awarding marks to those who perform well.
He caution those who couldn’t even talk when they mount the stage to try to have confident.
Kelvin was on his way home, his friend Jona ran to catch up with him.
Jona: hey, stop there
Kelvin: Wetinn nah, I steal your pot of beans
Jona: deh the question me, about that last night saga
Kelvin: you still the remember last night (pretends not to remember but still fresh in his brain)
Jona: Ehen after you make the girl embarrassed me
Kelvin: Embarrassment keh
Jona: shu, she tear me slap you no go believe, sake of say I deh arrange babe for you. Your matter tire me self.
Kelvin: no vex guy, we be guy guy nah
Jona: o.k that one don pass, where you deh go now
Kelvin: Where should I go rather than my hostel
Jona: you no the tire for in doors, every time you deh lock yourself up. Doh for you ooh.
Kelvin: where you won make I go again.
Jona: see, e get this joint ehn, they is one correct babe there, she fine die
Kelvin: I no wan engage in babe issue again that last night own don teach me lesson
Jona: lesson keh, they slap you no be me they slap shu. Guy but make I tell you the truth, you yourself no say you the fumble

Jona: yes nah you deh fumble, don’t you know that almost the girls for class the trip for you. Deh the lose guard (he was determined to help his friend out of his shy state).
Kelvin: how I go do now
Jona: ehen nah now you the talk, see no worry, all you have to do is follow me, first you have to make eye contact with her and second walk up to her and start a conversation. I think you go know the rest. Kelvin nodded but not too sure
Kelvin summon some confident, he told his friend that he is ready.
At the restaurant, the place was very friendly and welcoming. They was a lot of decorations, and the D.J was slamming to the beat of ‘’Chop Am’’ by Reakado Banks.
They located a sit and sat down.
Jona: How you see this place
Kelvin: Here set ooh
Jona: you no ask of the girl again
Kelvin: which level nah (he was feeling nervous)
Jona: see the girl don show.
Kelvin raised his head up to look at the girl.
The girl was very beautiful that her beauty makes Kelvin drool
Jona: you like her bah, go reason her now
Kelvin stood up acting on impulse, he went and stood at the counter.
Kelvin: Hel ………… (his voice was low and some how stammering)

Kelvin: Oh yah eh………….. I want eh (he don’t know the right word to say).
He looked back at Jona to get a hint on what to do next, Jona made a sign to him telling him to tell her she is beautiful.
Rita: What are you saying (looking surprised).
Kelvin: Em am be liking you oo, can we be in a more sensual relationship I mean em friendship.
He regretted saying this but he can’t take back the words.
Rita was stunned. She gave him a very hot hot slap on the left cheek, kelvin saw multiples of stars, the earth was turning round about him.
Rita: What? Do you see as a cheap girl.
She walked out of him,
It was like what happen to Jona the last night, was playing itself again on a screen in the very front of Jona.
Jona was not too disappointed because he could remember vividly the embarrassment Kelvin made him pass through last night.
‘’make him brain reset small’’. He thought.
To Kelvin he was thinking. ‘’let the earth open up and swallow me’’. Because all eyes were on him.
He didn’t bother to look at his friend, because, to him, he was the one that put him in this mess. He walked out of the restaurant with his head bow.
Jona took a sip of his holandia yoghurt juice and went after his friend.
Jona: guy what happen na
Kelvin: you deh ask me you no get eye
Jona: I mean what lead to the girl giving you a hot slap (he was joking).
Kelvin: ehen she give me hot slap abi
Jona: guy I get another way
Kelvin: am not interested in this whole girl matter again, please make I rest for girls matter joh.
He went home angrily without saying good bye to his friend.
When he was returning home, he met some of his neighbour partying. It was inform of a birthday party.
He was not a party type. Some of the student who were already high due to intake of some substance, called on him to come.
Student 1: hey, come here were you the go
Kelvin pretended not to here.
Student 2: guy you deh deaf, no be you they the call.
Student 3: Leave that guy, by the time we handle am ehn he go know.
Kelvin heard what the 3rd student just said and he turned and went to were he was called. He don’t want wahala.
Student 1: so me the call you, you deh do anyhow ba, oya kneel down
Kelvin: bros no vex wetin I do now (he was speaking with the vexation he got from the restaurant).
Student 1: (the first student just shake his head, ‘’this guy the try me’’). So you get mind the ask me question abi. Spider show am shege.
The student by the name spider was coming towards him to give him a beating but with the effect of the alcohol he was staggering.
A girl came to the rescue of Kelvin.
Sharon who was the celebrant did not want any problem, even though she was troublesome.
The first student was her boyfriend.
Sharon: guy make una melo down na, see the guy na JJC.
Student 1: na because of this my babe I the release you I for teach you lesson. Gerrara here (he said this alcoholically).
Kelvin turned and heading direct to his room.
