My problem is not constructing it but utilizing and maintaining it!!

Was at National stadium surulere on Sunday but guess what?

It has become a beehive of entertainment and eatery activities..

Bars and life band..

In a national stadium!!!

All the facilities are nothing to write home about...

They have been maintaining the nest of champions, at least it's now the home of super eagles.

In the same vein are you saying all district or village in akwa ibom has a stadium?
Should spots development wait till all bridges and roads have been built?
If this administration builds all the needed infrastructure in the state ,what will the next administration do?
No, I am saying Akwa Ibom already has a stadium in Uyo. They do not need another one in Eket. Instead of spending money building a second stadium, Udom should spend that money on hospitals, roads, bridges, buses, boats and other infrastructure that would add value to the lives of its citizens. It is clueless to spend money on a second stadium, when a tertiary hospital in the state that could provide quality healthcare to the public, is closed down, due to lack of funds! The next administration will continue from where the former one left off...

I just gave you an example of good maintenance culture in sports infrastructure in Akwa Ibom. But you are ignoring that glaring fact!

The only reason you are ignoring the evidence before you is jealousy and hate has over ruled your sense of reasoning.

Hate Who?

I never go akwa ibom before and will probably never go there.
But the question I dey ask Una be say na stadium be the problems of Nigerians at this moment?

Listen Akwa Ibomites wants stadiums and churches. He promised a stadium last year and is following through. He could do other use projects likr you mentions but it doesn't grab headlines like a new stadium would.

•The governor could use money to upgrade the power plant he's bragging about. He has license to generate 685 MW.

•They could use cash to upgrade airport so it can take international flights outside if pilgrimages. The Akwa United team flys to Lagos to leave country.

•might be able to improve Ebughu fishing terminal if they work with federal government.

• deliver 24/7 power to 5 Local governments like promised.
If the governor promised stadium/stadia and churches, then he is clueless and those who voted him into power based on such promises, need to have their head examined. undecided

If the funds for building stadia or churches, were used to provide 24x7 power or stable electricity, upgrade the airport to international status, or improve the fishing terminal, would it not have a greater beneficial impact upon the people of Akwa Ibom, than the construction of a church or a stadium?

Why dont you go advise your governor?Dont you think youths from your state will benefit from a project like this?

Am sure the youths of Eket are super excited about the stadium, thats who the project is built for and not you. so stop taking panadol for another persons headache.

And it is only the feelings of the youths of Eket that matter? What about the feelings of the mothers in Eket that need good ante-natal care to reduce maternal mortality? What about the pensioners and aged that need access to good quality healthcare, that does not cost an arm and a leg? What about the men who need an improved fishing terminal that could provide jobs for them to feed their families? What about the unemployed in Eket, that need good jobs to fend for themselves?

Have you heard of our Darling team, Akwa United the Number one soccer team in Nigerian Leauge? if you haven't, may I inform you that the team is currently in the City of Sfax in Tunisia representing and flying the flag of Nigeria in The CAF confederation competition as we speak.

The Nest of Champions is the Home Of the two time NPFL confederation cup championship team, and games are played there weekly.
Besides there is Akwa Ibom Youth Sports festival that you choose to ignore, is ongoing at the Beautiful stadium as we speak.

Keep hating Akwa Ibom Is moving forward.
tnx 4d info. Thats what i expected of u in d first place not these ur petty responses of badbelle and hating. There's a difference between having a healthy conversation and engaging in ridicule

Before All the badbelle people arrive on this thread to do the usual hating like they did when Gov. Godswill was building the nest of champions.

Let me add to Their pain by submitting that the same day the artifical turf,Seats and tartan track for this new eket stadium arrived in uyo from Germany, the same material also arrived for the renovation of the old Uyo LGA stadium so the old uyo stadium will also be renovated alongside this new stadium in Eket.

Also, Gov. Udom Is building 10 mini sports stadiums in 10 public secondary schools in each of the 10 federal constituencies of Akwa Ibom state, one has been completed and put to use in West itam Secondary school. and 9 more are under various stages of completion.
For these feat, the minister of sports honoured the gov. with diamond award for sports development. thats from an APC FG to an opposition PDP Gov.!

Now over to you Chairmen and members of Nigerian haters club, Please do your thing ! LOL. grin grin grin grin
akwa ibom is gradually turning to a stadium state.

Whats bad about that? At least we are know for something, being known as the home of good sporting infrastructure is not a bad thing.

But Stadia are not the only thing in Akwa Ibom, But if thats all you choose that see its ok. at least you are seeing something.

really?
take a look at abuja stadium
or is it Lagos with its national stadium or teslim balogun or is it that the uyo stadium is small.

and the gov is building another one and eket?
do you even have an idea how is been spent on that project?

in akwa ibom there are a lot of things that can be put on ground that will be beneficial to the state and to the people at the same time and the govt of the state will get return of investment and get nothing less than a sustainable 2000 indigenes been employed

Stadia are clearly achievements for our politicians smh unlike factories or better still creating a conducive business environment that can put people to work or provide jobs

May you live long! sad The money Udom is spending on that stadium would construct enough factories to reduce unemployment in Akwa Ibom, by at least one-third, and even add revenue to the pockets of the govt.

So would you rather have politicians loot money than build a stadium that is tangible?

So in other states where they are not building public infrastructures are you saying they are not stealing?

FYI the AKSG has done more than what you are suggesting visit the state website @www.akwaibomstate.gov.ng and get informed .

How is a stadium tangible? Smh

I can guess that Ogun and Anambra States also built stadia to attract factories to their states abi following your logic?

This is what I have been saying about most Nigerian voters needing social orientation re-engineering smh

is it wrong to make another stadium? NO !

It's obvious you don't reside in the state. Akwa Ibom talk less of Eket doesn't require another stadium. Better a community centre. Instead of constructing roads with high standards, ensuring street and traffic lights work efficiently, power plants producing power in the state and lots more. But no! Udom won't do that.

Wonder what he went to learn in INSEAD. He comes across a cretinous fvcktard to me.

The gov. Is grabbing headlines because he is doing great things, Greatness grabs attention. Live with it.

You come across as a cretinous fvcktard! I'd do better in defending Udom. Even a top academic in Uniuyo is disappointed in him. Yet, you come to praise the man.

Nonsense!

Akwa Ibom comes amongst the top three states with high gas reserves, but electricity is a problem in the state. And this disrupt businesses and further induces a downturn in the economy. Result? Unemployment! What's the fvcktard from Onna doing? Building stadium and ecumenical centres!

Eket is a rundown town claiming a city status. No pedestrian tracks, nothing! The road to Ibeno, how far? Since ages, no headway. What about the perennial flooded IBB Way near the secretariat? Dude, Udom is a disappointment! Take it from someone who had high hopes considering his antecedents in Unilag, Zenith, PwC and INSEAD.

You forgot to add that the largest gas processing plant in Nigeria is situated within Akwa Ibom state. The $600million Uquo gas processing facility, supplies gas to the IPP plants in Calabar and other places, yet Udom cannot tap into this to construct an IPP plant for the Ibom Specialist Hospital, (and its' environs) which would have supplied stable electricity to the hospital, and revived one of the centres that could provide the public with medical care, in the state.
