ALCOHOLKILLS: I don't need Oduduwa republic from your Ojukwu or from you Igbos.. When the time is ripe, I will get Oduduwa republic and more without war or blood shed. A republic owned and controlled fully by Yorubas and not outsiders. Yorubas never asked Ojukwu to start any war on their behalf. So stop trying to whip sentiments in your favor. I'm 100 times smarter than you'll ever be. 5 Likes |

Alariiwo:It's on record that Banjo retreated from Ore with little or no opposition from the federal side that was pretty much in a dispirited retreat, his reasons for doing so are open to debate but let posterity be the better judge of history. 2 Likes |

Alariiwo:LOL revisionist of history, typical of your ilks. Unfortunately these are the distortions and half truths you will feed to your children and co-gullibles... thus passing on the torch of ignorance... pick up a book on the Nigerian Civil War and read, I can recommend several unbiased accounts of the Midwest invasion that were authored by people who actually saw and experienced the war, of course I expect you to lash back at me with the usual ipob nonsense, but I can assure you that I'm not going to debase myself to that level. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Igbos, Hmmmm. In Nigeria, The people with the best hands are the Igbos The people with the best brains are the Yorubas The people with best mindset are the Hausas The people with the worst mindset are the igbos. No matter what a man has or can become, as long as he has a poor mindset, you can as well forget him. 5 Likes |

humilitypays: Pls shut up!!! How did d pogrom start?...... "And following the coup, the Igbo in the North became too celebrative; dancing and singing to a Rex Lawson song and telling their Hausa neighbors that the bleating of a goat in the song was Ahmadu Bello (the most important Hausa/ Fulani leader) howling like a goat as he was being killed by Major Nzeogwu. It was the discriminatory killings and gratuitous mockery of the memory of their most important leader, amongst other reasons, that set the stage for the July 1966 anti-Igbo coup and the attendant anti-Igbo riots" Simply put, the Igbos incite the violence that befell them... 4 Likes |

Not only his tribesmen abandoned him, his family also abandoned him. He died in a pitiable circumstances. The internet doesn't forget and doesn't lie. Just try and google the keywords. |

Most part of Nigeria only heard of the war on radio, Just d sight of Few Fulani herdsmen, or d sound of a busted tire, you run, with ur heel hitting the back of your head.... The same greediness exhibited by your forefathers will continue to haunt you.... After occupying sensitivitve positions, even in the North, yet you want more, making you to come up with that selective coup... Other tribes are wiser now, sit your lazy a**es down there looking for unholy alliances or for the Presidency to be handed over to you like a plate of abasha.... 3 Likes 1 Share |

emmachukwu99: Read the truth from my previous post. No revisionist will tell you the truth. Banjo and Ifeajuna cut a deal with the federals to go back and kill Ojukwu in exchange for safety. Instead of progessing to lagos which they had all means, they took the easy way out, and turn back. There was little or no resistance at Ore as against the lies peddled by the revisionists and anti-historian scoundrels. If there was, Banjo or Ifeajuna would have died fighting. Soldiers of those days (especially Biafrans) fight to the last man. That was the principle. Nzeogwu himself died fighting in Biafraland. They simple cut a deal with Gowon and awolowo to kill Ojukwu and bring his head but it backfired and they had to pay with their lives. If Achuzie had led that troop, Lagos would have fallen within few days. Throughout the course of the war. Patriots like Achuzie never retreated in battle, you cut him in he cuts you out. Always ready for ambush. 5 Likes |

humilitypays:Some things happened before the pogrom. The killings of the leaders from the north and south west by soldiers of Eastern origin and sparing of lives of the leaders from the eastern region. Two, the taunting that followed the killings of northern leaders and the failure to punish the coup plotters and killers. |

Paretomaster: Of course documented in yoruba languange by yoruba revisionists in peak period of yoruba anti-Igbo revisionism. That period of revisionism is over. Truth ti take over. Banjo cut a deal with awolowo backed by the federals during the war. This was documented by western journalists who wrote about the civil war. It was documented in British secret archives on the Biafra war which have now been decommissioned. Go read up the book 'Biafra: Britain's shame' by Auberon Waugh and other foreign pressmen who wrote about the war. 1 Like |
