LadyGuinivere: Please I need an advice on something. Now here is the thing: An uncle of mine who works with American Army and also a citizen want to send me an invitation letter to the USA, 1. What kind of visa do I need to apply for? 2. I want to apply with my wife together because we are young couple, can one invitation letter cover for both of us and what is our chances of getting a visa? 3 I am the one financing it and my salary is about 150k per month. Do I stand a chance with this salary base? Again, my wife works and she is also contributing to it. Please what are our chances. Please help it urgent. |

sweetseth:I really want to bless God for today. I also appreciate the initiator of this trend. Am a silent reader I read from part 1 to 3, its actually not easy but it was fun. At times I will read and be scared, at times I will laugh out loud all by myself. But truthfully I learned a lot from different transcripts here. So I decided to share mine. The interview was scheduled for 9am. My husband, myself and my 2 boys. We got there by 7. The tension was so much especially when we saw so many people denied. The interview goes thus: V.o: can I av ur passport Me: Gd morning ( passed d passport) v.o : What are you going to do in Rolando florida? Me: we are going to visit disneyworld for family vacation V.o : what do u do ( she faced me) Me : I am bla bla I work with bla black V.o : what are ur specialties Me : I started blowing grammar. ( no oyinbo can know my work pass me so the v.o cuts in) V.o : do u av any other kids Me: no V.o : (turns to my husband) what do u do? Hussy: I am bla bla V.o : which company? Hussy mentioned it v.o : what does the company do ( hussy explained) V.o : how long av u been working with them Hussy: 11years. ( the v.o asked again after some seconds) V.o: how long are u staying Both: 7days V.o : any travel history? Both: no V.o: do u plan to av another kid or are u pregnant? Me: no V.o : what if u change ur mind because every woman will like to give birth to girl. Me: (very serious at this time) ( for my mind : what do u mean?) We agreed to av two so we are okay with them. Thanks V.o : if u get pregnant will u like to give birth on d u.s Me : not at all. I am a very busy person and I can't leave my job and my families. V.o : she asked again. How long do u intend to stay? Both : 7 days V.o: Gave out the white paper and said ur visa has been approved. pick up ur visa...... I no hear again. 17 Likes 3 Shares |

1. No one knows your chances. You can only improve them by self-assessment. What do I have that will make someone else believe that I will return back to Nigeria. - do I have a well-paying job, that I have worked in for years. - do I have a family, that I can't afford to leave for long. - can I afford this trip. - does the purpose of this trip rhyme with my age, with the weather, with my job etc. 2. Lets say Miss A entered the US legally, and has made plans to get married legally, and wishes to invite her family to the US - unless all the invitees have STRONG TIES to Nigeria, her parents may be given visas and her siblings rejected. The idea is that these siblings will be 'ties' for the parents to return to Nigeria. So its usually better for the parent and at least one sibling to apply, preferably a sibling with STRONG TIES to Nigeria. A VO would surely understand why the presence of parents, is important in a marriage ceremony. My opinion o. |

YankeeJJC: Hi YankeeJJC Thank you for replying and assisting me when I needed help. If it were not for these phone numbers, the passport no. issue wouldn't have been sorted out. The feedback form I was filling kept giving me automated responses. I'm grateful for Nairaland. I have acquired more knowledge about visa applications on this platform than anywhere else. I applied by myself, filled my form on my phone and booked my appointment. No agent was needed (who agent epp?) Visa interview was in Abuja. Window 8, Man Lasted approximately 3mins ( I think they assess applicants prior to the interview) my transcript may not help so much but here it is; Me: Good morning VO: Good morning. passport please. VO: Why are you going to the US? Me: I'm going for bla bla bla conference in NY VO: what does your job position, Medical House Officer mean? Me: I explained though I was surprised he asked. Told him it's the same thing as internship like it's called in the US VO: why are you going for the conference, it's for only University students? Me: I stammered a little because I wasn't expecting the question but I continued to maintain eye contact while telling him that I was a recent graduate and the conference was for both University students and young professionals under age 28. VO: which country will you represent? Me: xxxx VO: Tell me about xxxx? Me: Moved the stuff confidently. I somehow expected the question. VO: Have you travelled before? Me: Yes to Canada and Italy for the same conference.(stated the year and the conference name clearly) VO: Do you plan on seeking medical care in the US? Me:No VO: Do you have any relatives in the US? Me: No Makes a funny face and types for a long time. VO: Congratulations, your visa has been approved. Me:Thank you very much I guessed he didn't hear cos he had to repeat himself. Omo!! I just shouted the thank you very well before he changes his mind. Collected my white paper and left the embassy in awe of God's glory. No documents checked. It was just God. The guy he interviewed before me was going for the same conference. It was his second application and he was still refused. I felt sorry for him. I listened to another interview. The guy is a student of my Alma Mater. The VO asked him what the conference he was going for was all about. He said, education. "What about education?", she asked. He still repeated, "education". I think he was very tensed and that messed up his interview. My advice to other intending visa applicants, be genuine (don't have bad intentions), be confident, maintain eye contact, know what you're going for, and above all trust God (if you're a believer) I acknowledge God's grace in my interview. It wouldn't have been any better without Him. Please is it possible for my passport to be ready for pickup at VI, Lagos tomorrow since I had my interview in Abuja on Friday? 9 Likes |

@seyewest @omobendel24 Dear Nairalanders, my uncle invited us & we were denied, my wife & 2 sons in Jan 8. 2018. Am planning to reapply alone before July 2018 because my cousin will be graduating from University. My questions are: what type of document can I request from my cousin? I have been to South Africa in 2016,Benin Republic & Dubai in Nov. 2017. Thanks |

Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by OmoBendel24: 6:53am On Mar 07, 2018 |
careerwoman: Great! Congratulations to you. Canada travel history particularly and backed too by a schengen - Italy - visit isn't a joke (especially if one should consider what the purpose of such visits were vis-à-vis your proposed US visit), weighty. Your passport should very likely be ready for pick up today, Abuja takes 2-3 days normally.... 3 Likes |

max1981: Letter from his/her school inviting you to his/her graduation which most likely may not be looked at anyways. Travel history building fine and also not bad. Did you do those journeys with your family? Is their a transcript for your previous application interview that got you refused? But why just land from UAE and then apply to the US in less than two months, making it then look like those are too deliberate travel history being built just for US application? What were the reasons for previous travels too? Just looking for correlation. Why the haste to get back in there with another purpose of travel soon again? Do you yourself see desperation in this if I may also ask? Finally, the grounds for your kind of refusal may not be far from your your employment type and pay, financial standing, travel history pattern and surely your intent to travel with all of your family. How did your uncle get into the US? At least, the plus you are having now is you want to go this alone without family, probably wise.... Regards Let's see your refused visa transcript sha, loads there methinks 1 Like |

Good Day House, I applied for US Visa and I think the Visa Officer was convinced of my application and answers. However, I was given a paper to forward my Bank Statement to ascertain my capability of sponsoring my trip. Note- I didn't go with a bank statement How long do I have to do this. I intend sending it in 3days time. Anybody been in this situation before? |

Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by OmoBendel24: 2:23pm On Mar 07, 2018 |
max1981: Just had a glance at your previous posts and could roughly notice quickly that your timing of your US embassy visits as per your visa application interview dates isn't likely sitting right. Just came back from SA you applied, again, just arrived from UAE you rushed to apply again. Yesterday it was conference purpose, today it's for visit with uncle, tomorrow is for cousin's graduation. You have really put in a lot of commendable efforts, but calm down, coming across as just doing this travels for nothing but getting a US visa. Sit back, visit the drawing table afresh, and re-strategize properly. Key in this in my opinion is that you should apply alone next time sha, or at most just you and your wife (at least it is now clear to them and on record that you have two kids having seen them with their eyes during your last interview, let your kids serve as extra tie). 5 Likes |

captainbj007: 221(g) - Administrative Processing. You are in order, 3 days time is yet okay. Only advice is ensure your bank statement is legit, also don't go about doing last minute account stuffing, that will then constitute a major red flag and set back! |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by captainbj007: 2:43pm On Mar 07, 2018 |
OmoBendel24: Sure don't intend funding it late minute but i've used the funds for an investment that will surely give me my profit and capital before my trip. However, my family's passport was also withheld (they have their visas already. and i showed them that we are travelling together as a family. During their interview, no document was asked Meanwhile, How do we get the document across to the embassy? By DHL? or in person? |
