Ifu is wrong about Africa not contributing majorly to global warming. I feel Africa (Nigeria) especially is a prominent contributor to GW for one simple reason. We as a country of 180 millon citizens with the worst power supply in the whole of Africa, at least not less than 60 million people have generators. They born fossile fuels in other to operate. Some of us use it 6hours a day, 31days a month, etc. I think this is enough to put us in the spotlight for contributors to GW.

Because we use generators then makes us major contributors? Do you know that there are less than 10 states where you will find such scenario in Nigeria? If you have been to other states you will find that asides from the capital the rest of the state don't use that much electricity even during the night. Meaning a larger percentage of Nigerians don't use generator sets as we may like to think. Which is why pressure are on certain states and capital of most states.


To prove to you we don't contribute as much, you will notice that the weather is usually cooler in those states than populous state. You can't compare harmattan in Ife to harmattan in Lagos. It's so thick in Ife you can't see the end of the street.
