The Egyptian league is not as bad as you guys are making it seem! It is probably the most respected and best league from Africa. The same league where the legendary Egyptian goalkeeper spent his career and he was still class even after coming out of retirement, Ramadan sohbi came straight from Al Aly to stoke city and he dosent look out of place in the league.
Ajayi of two years ago is not the same now. he's experienced, scored goals, won cups, became the best player of arguably the best team and league in Africa! That's not a small feat, most importantly he improved his game in such a short time. He made caf team of year, yes he's not the best striker Africa has, but he's the best striker playing in Africa.
From his recent games I watched He's a complete forward, he's very good in the air, effective on the wings, good movement, decent technique, super hardworking and he's very strong and fast! He's a goal scorer and a creator. Most important he's Team player! never gives defenders a moment of peace.
The friendlies will be a chance to show the stuff he's made of!
I know I'd prefer him to ideye!

You mentioned he is a team player. That trait may be what gets him a seat on the plane to Russia, ahead of Simon Moses. The one weakness in S. Moses’s game is his inability to “play with” the team. He is way too selfish on the pitch.

In that case, Ahmed Musa might miss his chance if Ajayi performs. Unless Rohr receives an order from "above" to keep Musa to support federal character.

O pari

Ahmed Musa is going to the world Cup on merit.

Simon is no longer selfish like before... After that SA game he has been playing more with the team... Checkout his performance in our last 3 WCQ...

And pls hold ur chill on Ajayi..let's see him play first before making conclusions..

Modified...
just like Thesupernerd said, barring any last minute injury, the following players are our choice for the attacking role: Moses, Iwobi,Iheanacho,Ighalo,Simon,Musa.. If Ajayi or another attacker should join d list then we will b taking just 5 midfielder to d Wc

Yes i see some comparing Amuneke and Ajayi, have watched Ajayi this season, for now he can't cut it in eagles.

Eze,some say is another Oboboana, likely to give Omeruo threat?he can't cos he need to refine his game and not ready for this WC.

Gabriel,nothing to say.

What could Moses simon have done to ANS that fake news website? They have a really poor credibility!!

If he contacted the infectious disease 2years ago and he could infect his teammates, why didn't his club quarantine him? I know oyinbos don't joke with stuff like that.

I think this is just a poor attempt to damage to poor boys image..

Musa is better than Ajayi..

Yes, he could be frustrating but he is important.

He gave 2 assists coming in as a late sub against Algeria and Argentina
Musa is better than Ajayi?not debatable and who was comparing the duo?

If not for club issues do they think Aayi is better than Ideye and Kayode even Nwakaeme.

Truly he deserve the call but very nauseating,Musa and Ajayi debate.

I wonder why some people think Ajayi will just come and gatecrash d WC list.. The Opari master even recommended dropping Musa for him... very funny something...

Anyway, there were higher expectations from d likes of Nwaekeme,Onyekuru and Kayode when they got their own call ups...
Onyekuru wasn't really given the chance to show his stuff.

Did anyone watch that tottenham-juventus game today..just see how the coach changed their formation from 4-3-3 to 3-5-2..the 3-5-2 effectively stifled Tottenham out of the game...this new formation made sure juventus stayed compact in every area of the field.. Tottenham would have won this game easily but thanks to a smart coach..

I do hope the Nigerian team perfect that 3-5-2 formation b4 the world cup so we can use it to surprise our opponents..we can keep our default 4231 formation and just switch up on our opponents at some point..

It means at this point we know over 90% of those that will make the final list.

It is really not likely that any new players will break into the team.

Rohr made it clear that this March friendlies are to assess new players. It doesn't necessarily mean they will get game time o. Maybe just to assess them closely in camp. Some, if not all may not even make match day squad for the Poland and Serbia friendlies.

Joel Obi may be a new comer to Rohr's team but not a new comer to the Super Eagles. IMO he was the only quality player that can add value left to be featured by Rohr. And with some good showings in the friendlies he stands a good chance of making it to Russia.

If we are going to play the 3 CB formation then we should play Balogun in the center. He is better in the air and does not have to chase anyone. He can focus mainly on interceptions and headers.
Exactly what he knows how to do best because his reading of the game is top notch.

A few comments
1. The under17 WC (then U16) started in 1985.
2. What exactly is gra gra football? There was no proper definition.

Actually I posted it for fun sake. There's really no merit in what he wrote. It's just the effusions a fan with very fertile imagination.

Because Agu is still yet to impress since Rohr first gave him a chance. However, reports have it, that he should have made list if not for passport renewal issues.

andrew444:

Agu is getting regular time at besiktas until the last 2 games he came from the bench, onazi has not come of the bench for the last 3 games for trapzonspor,go and check and see for your self,so if so then why can't you say onazi should forget about the World Cup because he has not been that regular.

The list is a good one with all the usual suspects. I do specifically pray that Joel Obi gives a good play. I wish every invited player the best. Stiff competition is good for the team.

Yea I think we should master switching from one formation to the other.
1 defender joins the midfield and a midfielder goes forward to support the player who was a loan striker — or switch formation in reverse order.

Rohr mentioned it before. He said the team will have to master like 3 formations that could be used in the WC. I suspect that is why he introduced the 3 5 2 formation against Argentina. He will probably try out another new formation in this round of friendlies.

yeah.. If only he could improve on his team play. He's A fine player with very good dribbling ability , and energy too.

Another issue is his low scoring ability. He's not much of a goal threat as a forward that he is. Unlike the other forwards we have.

His goal scoring ability is my only concern about him, just imagine we needing a goal at the world cup and he is needed to be an impact sub,do you think he can deliver a goal like iwobi did when he came on against Zambia in Uyo?

Shebi we have drummed on the need for balance and dynamism. We just have to be fluid. We have the personnel. Most if not all of our players except Gks can play at least in two positions.

the guy sef na gamble for coach Rohr. It's more like purchasing a non-tested electronic item... Nobody really knows if it's good or not in the market, until it's being taken home and ultimately tested... What you see is what you get. LOL

I hope he comes good anyway... It will be a big asset for the team. He's a tall and promising defender.

My enerst prayer is that Joel Obi shouldn't melt down during the friendlies because a melt down is a melt out. He won't be given any new opportunity if he screws up.

Out of the new faces invited, He's the only one I am much concerned about.
