Is peace that costly for Muslims

Muslims fight Christians in Nigeria!

Muslims fights Hindus in India!

Muslims fight Budhas in Sri Lanka!

Muslims fight atheists!

Muslims fight scientists for western education and innovation!

Those who have earned money by facebook, whatsapp and instagram, please let us hear your stories.
A lot of us waste so much money buying data to run these social media services but in reality no money comes in from the other end.
We just continue living up to the hype of "having" social media. Swipping and swipping day and night.

ClintGist:

The Sri Lankan government has banned the use of social media networks, including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, in order to quell violence throughout the country.

A 10-day nationwide state of emergency was declared in Sri Lanka on Tuesday amid increased violence between Muslim and Buddhist communities.

Sri Lanka’s Telecommunications Regulatory Commission, which had reportedly been monitoring social media for hate speech related to the violence, has temporarily blocked Facebook, Viber, WhatsApp, and Instagram in most parts of the country.

On Wednesday, Cabinet Spokesman Rajitha Senaratne said the government had asked internet service providers to block messaging apps after it was Facebook posts encouraging violence towards the country's Muslim population were discovered.

Mano Ganesan, Minister of National Coexistence Dialogue and Official Languages, also confirmed the government's social media ban on Twitter, saying the country had decided to curb "all communal hate speech posts via social media."

Senaratne said in a press conference Wednesday that officials have been investigating who is fueling calls for riots and that several parliamentary officials had been mentioned.

After a state of emergency was declared on Tuesday, curfews were instated in the central district of Kandy, a popular tourist destination that was the epicenter of Sunday clashes between the Buddhist Sinhalese majority and local Muslims, who make up about nine percent of Sri Lanka's population.

Travel advisories were issued by the US, UK and Australia.

Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena has called on religious leaders across the spectrum to promote peace among their communities.

Everything you said applies to me too.

This is just too good.

I keep reading about successful young people/youths on quora.com, one thing they have in common is this: "one thing I stopped doing to focus in my development is that I deleted my Facebook and Instagram accounts."

Those things are nothing but waste of time. I can't even remember the last time I visited Facebook. I uninstalled the app over two years ago. I don't have an Instagram account, nor Snapchat. Even Twitter is once in a while just because it's matured.

Good that it was your decision and not some government forcing you to abandon them.

depends on what you spend your time doing on those social networks. They are no waste of time if you know what to do there... People make a living off them. Businesses are booming thanks to these networks. I dunno how useful snapchat is for business but I can personally say I have benefited alot business wise from Facebook and Instagram especially...its just sad people waste their data and time there when they can make a living off it... Can't remember the last time I opened my personal Instagram account. Just know what you're doing and you'll discover social media is a blessing!

i spend quality time on QUORA website, and i wouldn't agree less with what you said as regards successful people spending less time on social media. but on the flip side; social media when judiciously used can skyrocket your sales as an entrepreneur, can make the right people find your talent, can give you on-time information/idea that can transform your life in general. Thus to summarize, Social media is not a waste of time, its indeed a gold mine when used rightly.

lol. deleting your Facebook doesn't guarantee success. you can delete Facebook but yet be wasting away on nairaland, school or anywhere else. just know what exactly you're doing.
BTW, people are making millions just because they're on social Media.

It takes 2 to tangle . In southwest Nigeria, Muslims tolerate the Christians there . Government made law that there should be no preaching in public places but Christians in Southwest will disturb your peace in a public bus , yet Southwest Muslims will not attack them despite the fact that they are infringing on Muslims right.
