A Friends Interview Experience At Pals Concierge. by Hankonyibu(m): 6:57am On Mar 08, 2018 |
Good day all, My friend was invited for an interview at Pals Concierge, a company that deals with travel and migration services. The company advertised a position for a Customer Relationship Manager, which he applied for, only to be told upon arrival that the job position was actually for a Social Media Content Writer. This is wrong on all fronts. Why can't the company advertise the position they actually require? My guess is that they want to draw in a large number of applicants to choose from, as not everyone would consider a Social Media Content Writer position seriously. My friend said that was the first disappointment he encountered, but he persevered. In the waiting room, there were over thirty job seekers. Each person was interviewed one after another until it was his turn. During the interview, he was questioned by a knowledgeable man who initially asked relevant questions. However, the interviewer then began asking about his physical appearance, which made him very uncomfortable. In my opinion, this was highly inappropriate and disrespectful. How could someone ask about physical appearance for an in-house job? It's not a modeling position, so the question had no relevance to the job. After the interview session, the same man addressed the group, thanking them for coming and congratulating them for making it this far. He then informed them that there was only one slot available. I was shocked to hear this. So, you mean to tell me that people traveled from far and wide, up to 30 in number, were baited with the wrong job position, and yet there was only one slot available? This exemplifies a significant issue within Nigeria, where empathy is lacking, and individuals are driven by their own selfish agendas at the expense of others. For the final stage of the employment process, my friend said they were asked to provide relevant answers to two questions. He did so, submitted his responses, and left feeling disappointed. He already has a very bad impression of the company. Not only is integrity absent, but he also feels there would be too many antics and games played, with staff being mocked for their appearance. This is not something he wants to be a part of. Additionally, the company is located in a far-off area in Lekki, so if you do get an invite, think long and hard before spending your transport fare on a time-wasting event. Michael. |

Reminds me of an interview I had early last year, time was for 9am but we were left unattended to for 3hrs. we were given a test which had questions drawn from mathematics, physics and calculus for a Customer Care job ! haba ! None of the other guys could say anything and just kept sweating. I got up and went to the invigilator and told him I wasn't interested in taking the test anymore. The next thing he said was ' see you, there are no jobs oh so stop playing dumb or GO OUT ! Chai the thing vex me ehnnn and immediately the spirit of Great Ife aluta came upon me, i turned to the other six guys and lady and said asked if this was how they want to be treated should any of them get the job ? two of them nodded in agreement and also protested and so we left. later that evening I got a mail from the company apologising and inviting me back for another interview. I didn't attend because it was just me they invited leaving the other guys out from what I gathered. 9 Likes 1 Share |

Kalapizim:I like that . I hate it when graduate don't know their onions and shiver at the mercy of some of this scavengers called recruiters and employers alike. They treat job seekers like trash over peanut salaries. I don't blame them sha. Our problem is as a result of our shithole leaders that turned us into a shithole country. 8 Likes |

Hankonyibu:What do you expect? Nobody is putting all this private companies on check on how they treat job seekers and their staff. Imagine the deceit from the beginning. At the end the salary might just be a peanut with hard labour and inhuman treatments. I don't blame them sha. 1 Like |

The best is to become your own boss. After spending 4 years at the university, completing your 1 year service only for you to come and be telling someone goodmorning ma, sir, dix dat. More reasons I dnt blame all these yahoo boys. Nobody wonna become a slave. As long as you are under someone, you are a slave. Forget about how much they you are being paid 1 Like |
