This should be my second or third post on this thread but I think this particular one is necessary

I like your tenacity.

You've pitched this idea in 3 different sections on NL

You have a cumulative of 1,929 views

I understand and appreciate your cockiness

I like your determination

You're so resolved not to 'hussle' to get your goal, you just want to get it the easy way out?

What's the big deal in getting a rental while waiting for a principal?

I think you should consider the under listed

1. Your first post on this issue was on February 17, if you started doing rental then and was saving 20k a week (since you've a target) you should have saved up 60k by now! Half bread is better than donuts. Plus any principal you tell you've 60k and you're currently driving a rental now will definitely take you more serious than your well detailed proposal

2. Experience! Never joke with that. It's on this same platform people are making over 100k a week working barely 10 hours a day.(CC Romeo3 tongue tongue) Some people do almost 14 hours daily and struggle to kiss 80k. grin Doing rental will help you with the learning curve as HP is not beans. If you've driven before, things change daily, eg the new taxify promo

3. Principals understand only one language - money! I must commend your proposal, very articulate, guess what? That proposal, as good as it is won't give you a loan in the bank if you don't have equity contribution. So why should an individual part with hard earned 2m when a bank cannot?
The language principals understand is cash liquid cash not potential! Try and learn it

4. Your cockiness may depict pride. An interested principal can easily confuse your cockiness for pride and guess what? most business men will never do business with 2 set of people a. Anyone who exhibit any atom of pride and people who call themselves pastors, evangelist etc,( am sure we'll know why). In fact, if I've got any car down minimum I will collect as down payment from anyone that's proud is 50% with plenty abeg ooo. So thread carefully

5. Wrong impression
Your responses is giving everyone a wrong impression about you! You might be a very fine young reliable gentleman but your English has masked all that.
Stop the subliminal side kicks in your responses. Try and align your strengths to 'what's in it for the principal'
E-hailing business is pure street!

Finally
You see, some of these principals you want to attract, have cars on rental on Uber/taxify yet, we sold our personal cars (SUVs) and bought Uber compliant cars to make small cash after work and some weekends!
I can't count the no of times I've picked my junior colleagues as riders! Some of the cancel immediately they dial and my no pop up, as far as am concerned, it's all about the Benjamins! I no send anybody!
Imagine gazzuzz with all the money he makes still drives, why?

Nothing beats when you're involved hands on!

Well I took my time to type this very long message because
1. Am on vacation grin and
2. I see you as a great guy who might just have misplaced priorities

Abeg lemme go online I heard the movie Gringo will be in cinema today, lemme set my destination to surulere make rider pay for fuel, ticket and of course pop corn!

In Lagos state they all ve different charges for different authorities, Lasma once held me sometime last year, for seat belt offense, i ignored anything he said about negotiations, coz am like WTF, so bcoz of seat belt u want me to pay sort you in my street, the mistake I made was going to there office, on getting to there office, I was thinking it’s same price for FRSC this guy posted above, that’s seat belt offense 2k, LASMA own is 20k then you will go for training 10k then everyday ur car spends in there office you will pay 1k. Everything I paid was 35k, not to talk of time wasting, my car spent 3 days there, for 2k I could ve given the guy there and left, now I paid 35k since then no office again.
heheheh.... Dem don blow you cos you don't know their functions.... How can LASTMA charge u cos of seat belts? Wonders.
Ok... Before i started uber, me and my cousin where going to tejuosho market... Then she didn't want to use the seat belt again cos she was pressed. Ok LASTMA showed up.... He asked us to park. Then my coz ask why? He said why didn't she use the seat belt? My coz yelled at him- "is that ur job? Don't you know the meaning of LASTMA? Its lagos traffic management authority ok. Ur job is to make traffic flow. Are you road safety officer? You can't do the job thats not yours? Blah blah blah" ... I was just looking at how the LASTMA guy chickened out.. All he could say was "all these small small girls, if una don go school small na so una go dey claim right".

Udo nwanne'm

Hello!

Again, thanks for the post. I will comment on your observations even though I have decided hitherto to abstain commenting on retorts that are not intrinsic to my quest.

1. The "easy way out" is a relative term. You talk of "hustle"? I won't even start on that. Suffice it to say that you're addressing a man who from his early teens has been putting in work in the "streets" as you so term it. Assisted in paying my way through all levels of my education thus far juggling three/two jobs simultaneously (God is my witness as so is my parents [God bless them for their strength, sacrifice, love and never ending prayers]). I knew privation extremely early...in fact let me stop here...this is not a tear-jerking soap opera and my life will not be fodder for NL discourse, thank you.

You talk of hustle? I'm one who knows the value of hard work, tenacity and faith. He that sees a job or task beneath him will be above doing it well. This is my mantra. You probably see me as some pompous, misguided, and lazy commentator on the affairs of this world-business or otherwise. You can't be farther from the truth. I will not toe the rental path as reiterated earlier for cogent reasons. If this declaration makes me a lazy, pompous individual looking for charity (as one commentator put it) and the easy way out (as you put it), so be it. A man chooses to cling to a creed despite all society says to change his mind, while he may be genuinely stupid and shortsighted, there is just that possibility that there is something he knows that everyone doesn't. Always ask the question "what if?". Those words have changed the course of time. I never judge anyone based on truncated facts (as is obtainable in a forum such as this) even though I am being judged based on this. Each to his own.

2. I do have experience relative to this business. Over four years and two vehicles worth of it. (Kindly see some of my other post).

3. " So why should an individual part with hard earned 2m when a bank cannot?"

Because he is an individual whose decisions can be informed by a myraid of impulses-decisions that sometimes go against all grains of common sense but turns out right (or wrong) at the end. If the former, his hunches has been proved right, if the latter, he has learnt a bitter lesson and how not to go about that same situation again. Banks don't work on impulses, they work on proven or historically verifiable and exhaustively researched facts and scenarios (not a banker, but just alluding to sound business process that any formal institution would consider relative to the subject in discourse).

Like I reiterated, one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. I might be coming out as a totally deluded, lazy, and cocky individual (funny enough, I introduced this term into the whole mix and you upped and ran away with it...what does that tell you? I second-guessed a lot of the thoughts of readers of my posts hence using that word). You see, resolve is often mistaken for braggadocio, stubbornness and pride thus the outcome of such resolve will either vindicate the antagonist or protagonist (in my case, we are yet to see the outcome but speedily it approaches). I understand folks feeling that way about me giving the way they say I write (don't see anything peculiar in my writing style) and my not considering the rental option. I NEVER come to the obvious conclusion given a scenario. I ALWAYS sit back and reason, think, think and think some more about why the scenario is like that, the forces at play, some serious brainstorming etc. This has helped me a lot in my dealings with man and nature. Do you really think I have not considered the Rental option?

4. Addressed part of this in three (3) above. Really informed individuals won't see any pride in my quest (hopefully). Yes, you tried playing it safe by using the word "may" in your post because you are aware that you just might be wrong.

You are.

Some folks have reached out to me and we discussed business, strictly business. I know they found no trace of pride in my business submission to them (and I believe I gave reasons why a deal wasn't struck with them in some other post). Deal with me and discover for yourself if you're relating with a cocky individual. Pastors et al, wouldn't know much about that. Each to his own.

5. In one vein you applaud me, in another you take a slice at my ego (was the former meant to be a soothing salve to numb the pain caused by the latter? I wonder...)

Impression? what impression? from the outset, my posts has been about my proposal. there was NOTHING personal in it save my declaring my philosophy about hard-times and second chances. Sir, you really have to go through my posts all over again with a fine tooth-comb and try to figure out where all the "side-kicks" are.

When I respond to statements (not just NL) I always draw examples from the vast repository of experience that life has made available to the seeking and discerning mind. If your side kicks refers to me preempting what detractors would say and telling them not to travel that road, it was done to keep my thread and posts focused as we all know how lofty threads can be derailed into a dance of the macabre in NL with innocent forefathers abused and not-in-the-know spouses persona reduced to levels below that of the basest of animals.

In fact, I keep copying and pasting responses across the rooms in a bid to get folks to restrict their comments to the business at hand an not go on rehashing what has been said before; no personal diatribes and whatnot (the forum seem to be famous for attacking people's personalities with shocking words of insults and mind numbing sarcasm being flung about. It seems we just can't resist the temptation to infuse sarcasm into our responses even if it is a laudable and insightful one). I nearly stayed my hand from publishing my post as I know I'll be ridiculed and my ideas rubbished justifiably or not but then, I'm a winner, never backing down on a quest hence my going ahead to publish my proposal. I understand the country is hard and people are bitter but, taking it out on folks is not the way to go and everyone must not see it your way.

In this quest of mine, it's either I remain foolish in my own counsel (HP) or become wise by listening to others (Rental). I have made my decision. And it is not Rental.

My English making people get the wrong impression about me? This is how I write and speak in business and personal life. It wasn't designed for NL. The circumstances dictate my approach to language and manner of speech. I believe I've been addressing educated folks so, what is the whole hullabaloo about my English about? This is me. This is who I am. An open book with nothing to hide (I hope this comment is not mistaken for cockiness....again).

6. I do not understand where you're coming from with "...You see, some of these principals you want to attract, have cars on rental on Uber/taxify yet, we sold our personal cars (SUVs) and bought Uber compliant cars to make small cash after work and some weekends!
I can't count the no of times I've picked my junior colleagues as riders! Some of the cancel immediately they dial and my no pop up, as far as am concerned, it's all about the Benjamins! I no send anybody!..."

If I can recall correctly, I intend driving the car myself and no where in all my posts have I remotely insinuated at what you're trying to imply with the quoted comment. Sir, please consider your words before publishing lest you pass out erroneous information.

And finally, I am not a man with mis-placed priorities (yes, the word pain me). You don't know me my good Sir at all! No Sir, you just don't.

N.B: This will be my final response to commentators whose posts are not edifying, who seek to pick on my words, read meanings to them that aren't there and use them against me. All this negative energy is taking a toll on me. Fighting real hard to maintain my equipoise and sense of purpose. I have been tagged as Lazy, Cocky, In-experienced, Not walking-the-walk, One with misplaced priorities, Deceitful (via usage of flowery words, yes, a commentator said that), Stubborn, Unrealistic etc. just because I insist on not going on the Rental platform. Only one commentator thus far has asked why by stating I should run the figures here.

I agree. You're all correct. Can we rest the case now please. All I seek is just one Principal and he/she will come. As sure as the sun rises every morning, he/she will come. I will keep asking till he/she comes or till other developments that negate my toeing this path arises.

Thanks everyone for all the comments both inspiring and otherwise. I have learnt much, picking the good and discarding the bad.

My Principal lies just about the corner. Soon we shall meet. Soon.

Regards.

Soon.

Regards.
