Doesn't make any sense to me at all?/!

No 1 at this harsh economic times, this would lead to increase in rents and other costs

No. 2 it would discourage investors

No. 3 it would affect the real estate market as you can see a lot of people are going into the real estate sector

No. Contrary to government speculation of it increasing the revenue in Lagos, it will lead to massive decline in revenue as many average citizens can't afford living in Lagos

My verdict! the government should reconsider this decision as it's not investment and peoples friendly.

For all those fools thinking that this decision is a way of keeping other tribes in check, let me remind you that Lagos is what it is today because of its population, if you introduce this law it will have an adverse effect on Lagos economy

Can someone help to explain ,what if the value of the property is only about 3 million ,do we have to calculate it by 0.076% ?

my thoughts exactly. in the example given, 20m was used as estimated value. what if in real life the valuer says its 90m?

if you check these fees are paid by tenants not landlord plus, you will need to do your research well B4 speaking like this.
Yesterday someone told me there was too many tax to pay in the UK compared to the rest of the west, I asked him to name just three taxes he knew he went mute.
We pay way too much tax as it is with nothing to show for it The govt is taking us all for a ride.

all the money the state have been generating what have they done with it?, does it not end in tinubu pocket?, the state is fast loosing it.

Nigerians don't mind paying tax, but the issue is that some of these corrupt leaders keep looting our scarce resources, my sympathy to logosians, they are in for a big ride.

Ambode is on the right track , if you can't pay move back to your village, Lagos is too congested anyway.

Other parts of Nigeria need to develop similarly.

Are you aware that citizens of Nigeria actually provide their own power, security, water, and fix their roads? I know people who got together and funded the road construction to their houses. So what are we on the receiving end of? Is there anything ordinary or extra that the government is doing that we are benefiting from?

Truthfully, whenever I read comment like yours I just feel that the person is either a squatter with friends or still lives in their parents house. Coming here to talk about advanced countries when you've not even left your local government.

The timing of the law us not right. Its implementation if signed should be suspended until Nigeria is out of the economic danger zone. In fact, Governor Ambode should refuse to sign it for this reason.
