kennysville: Fast counter attack from the wings with fast and skillful wingers will force the team with 3-5-2 formation to concede goals or park the bus. And ones the wing backs are forced to stay back, you don't expect any attacking moves from them. This will make dem redundant. 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 are good for such formation.. |

Obi Absent Over Injury In Torino Defeat At Roma Super Eagles midfielder, Joel Obi, missed Torino’s 3-0 away defeat to AS Roma in Friday’s Italian Serie A clash at the Olimpico Stadium over injury, reports Completesportsnigeria.com. Second half goals from Kostas Manolas, Danieli De Rossi and Lorenzo Pellegrini ensured Roma maintained their third spot in the Seria A table with 56 points from 28 games while Torino remain in the ninth position. The 26 year old Nigeria international who was called up by Gernot Rohr for the forthcoming international friendlies against Poland and Serbia reportedly missed the game on an account of an injury. It remains to be seen if the former Inter Milan midfielder will be fully fit for a return to the Super Eagles with barely two weeks to the games against Poland and Serbia in Warsaw and London respectively. Obi’s invitation to the Super Eagles was his first in two years, since he missed out on the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. He has scored four goals and provided two assists in 18 Serie A games for Torino this season. https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/obi-absent-injury-torino-defeat-roma/ |

Nwakali Nets Brace In Maastricht Win; Ujah Subbed Off, Balogun Absent As Mainz Lose At Home 0 March 9, 2018 11:27 pm Nigeria midfielder, Kelechi Nwakali, opened his goals account for MVV Maastricht scoring two goals in their 3-1 home win against Jong FC Utrecht in the Dutch second division on Friday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports. Nwakali who is on loan to Maastricht from Arsenal, scored in the 23rd and 48th minutes, which saw his side return to winning ways following their last defeat to Fortuna Sittard. He has played seven league games for Maastricht since joining them in January. Attila Yildirim got Maastricht’s third goal on 89 minutes while Nick Venema was on the score sheet for Jong FC Utrecht on 69 minutes. Maastricht are 12th on 38 points in the 20-team league table. And in the German Bundesliga, Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun was not in Mainz squad who lost 1-0 at home to Schalke 04. Balogun’s Nigerian teammate Anthony Ujah was in action for Mainz before he was withdrawn on 81 minutes. Mainz have now failed to record a win in their last three league games (two draws, one defeat). They have 25 points and occupy 16th position – a relegation play-off zone in the 18-team league table. https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/nwakali-nets-brace-maastricht-win-ujah-subbed-off-balogun-absent-mainz-lose-home/ 1 Like |

Puel: Ndidi Deserves To Be Named Leicester City’s Best Player 5 March 09 2018 Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi deserves to be named Leicester City’s best player this season, according to The Foxes manager, Claude Puel. Ndidi joined Leicester City just over a year ago, filling the void left behind by Ngolo Kante who joined Chelsea after helping the club win the Premier League title in 2016. The 21 year old has featured in all Leicester City’s English Premier League games so far this season and has won more tackles than any other player in Europe’s top five divisions. His 116 tackles is 21 more than the next most successful ball-winner, Everton’s Idrissa Gueye. “Since the beginning of the season, Wilfred is the most consistent player because he plays well, he recovers a lot of balls and he deserves to be the best,” Puel states in an interview with Leicester Mercury. “But since the beginning of the season, he’s improved a lot; he continues to work with good spirit in the training sessions, always correct. “He is a valuable player for us because we didn’t have alot of players with the same attributes. He can recover a lot of balls, he is strong in the duels and now, when he plays simple with quality, he can give a good start in our play.” Puel is regards the speculations linking his players away from the club as compliments. Harry Maguire, Riyad Mahrez and Ndidi have all been linked away from the club. “We speak about Wilfred, last week we spoke about Maguire,” says Puel. “Every week, it’s a different player. It’s a good feeling, because if some players can have some speculations around them, all this shows that they progress in the team. “They’ve got to continue to work with us, of course. “I’m happy about Wilfred, like Harry, Riyad, Jamie, all the players. It’s a good thing also to have some players with this quality and about the interest of other teams also.” Ndidi is yet to score for Leicester in the Premier League this season, despite finding the net in the FA Cup at Peterborough. Puel also confirms that Daniel Amartey may be sidelined for a month, while Shinji Okazaki is available for the game against West Bromwich Albion. “It is a hamstring injury. Other players, like Shinji, are available and fit to come back into the squad. “[It will be] one month [for Amartey]. He can come back after this injury. There is an interesting competition in the squad and players show spirit to fight for their places.” “We have some players starting a lot of games, of course, and I think about the other players who are in competition to find a place. “It’s about our play, it’s about the confidence and finding the clinical edge.” https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/puel-ndidi-deserves-named-leicester-citys-best-player/ 1 Like |

somehow: 4-2-3-1 can change to 4-5-1 when defending and also match the 3-5-2 in the midfield. The 3-5-2 formation is meant for dominating the midfield and it can change to 5-3-1 when defending and 3-1-6 when attacking. So, the 4-2-3-1 will help you contain their midfield and attack when it changes to 4-5-1. As you can see, it will change to 4-3-3 when on the counter attack or 4-1-1-4. It's very flexible. |

No one is saying corruption has disappeared from nigerian football but at the moment those who merit call ups for the most part are being invited.
