idu1:I think there is ASCPi. you will sit for the exam in Nigeria, but the final part of it would be completed in the US.we have in the UK also. Its kind of a country's professional licensing exam that any immigrant would have to sit for, inorder to practice in the said country. |

Is it possible that I can study microbiology yet be certified as a med lab scientist after getting a PGD programme in med lab science?? |
Re: Medical Laboratory Scientists Forum by opera1(m): 3:15pm On Apr 02, 2018 |
pinkylovely: Yes if it's Medical Microbiology and NO if it's other types of Microbiology. In addition, nothing like PGD programme in MLS, U can only obtain DE form & start from 200L. |
Re: Medical Laboratory Scientists Forum by pinkylovely: 3:18pm On Apr 02, 2018 |
opera1:Oh! Really? So basically, what job opportunities are there as a microbiologist |
Re: Medical Laboratory Scientists Forum by arinzos(m): 5:45pm On Apr 02, 2018 |
pinkylovely:You can do a PGD but you will not be certified as a MedlabScientist. The first cliteria to become a medlab scientist,is to possess a B.MLS |
Re: Medical Laboratory Scientists Forum by nelszx: 6:07pm On Apr 02, 2018 |
pinkylovely:You can study microbiology but you'd never be certified as a MLS even with a PhD. Basic requirement to be certified a MLS is only through a BMLS degree any other thing aside that is invalid. |
Re: Medical Laboratory Scientists Forum by pinkylovely: 6:21pm On Apr 03, 2018 |
Is it possible to change course from microbiology to med lab science in RSUST while in year 1 |
Re: Medical Laboratory Scientists Forum by arinzos(m): 6:40pm On Apr 03, 2018 |
pinkylovely:You have to find that out yourself. Go to your academic advicer and ask, also go to MLS department and confirm if they will accept you. |
