First of all I must disclaim that I am not a Buhari supporter, never have been, never will be. He's government is one of the worst, if not the worst in recent times and actually having him in government for another 4 years could be a disaster.
How ever as with all gambits for those conversant with the game of chess, it involves making sacrificial moves which could make u lose the battle but win the war in the grand scheme of things.
Here are my reasons below
1. Shock value: We all know that given Buhari's character of fighting his perceived enemies, one would have expected that GEJ would either be behind bars or have agencies on his tail by now....but his shocking move of simply conceding defeat disarmed him from doing that
2. The Biafran Theory: There has been a theory going on that Buhari's presidency will quicken the disintegration of the nation as we know it. This theory can only be ascertained if Buhari safely remains in Aso rock by 2018
3. Nothing to lose: No other candidate out there can be as VINDictIVE as Bubu. In the event he wins, He won't understand the sudden massive support from his sworn enemies...in the event He loses, south east won't still have it as bad and even if the East does have it bad in the unlikely event that the new leadership is as wicked and vengeful, at least the zone can't be predicted.

Ladies and gentlemen, what are your thoughts with these few points of mine.

Your points are inconcise.
What gambit?

Sitting on the fence is no crime. Jumping into harmful actions is. That's why this nation is where it is today. Decades of not carefully analysing before making decisions has led us here today

Presidency doesn't ever benefits the masses. Good policies do. The south east shouldn't be beclouded with that as a reason to vote him in. That's not why I opened this tread. And I am sure most Igbos realise that winning the sit at Aso rock is a pyrrhic victory with no real tangible benefits except for those yeye politicians hence the voter apathy.

All we want is Biafra, not zoo presidency.

Any Igbo man seeking Zoo presidency is on his own because the wickedness and sabotage GEJ faced during his time as president will be a child's play. It is not worth it.
