The only things i submitted was my trv forms, sponsor letter, sponsor account statement(personal and company) , sponsor cac documents, my nysc discharge, waec certificate, degree certificate, diploma in telecoms certificate,my personal account with just 170k closing balance, ielts, identification letter, my bsc school transcript, evidence of paid 2kcad, admission letter, accomodation offer letter from school and above all THE G FACTOR(GOD). this are just what i used in applying for the first time and getting it.. i think a simple and genuine application makes the job easy for the vo. i applaud these guys frank, iyjuwa, chuks and many others i cant remember their names i dont reply nor comment though but i follow your posts and comments and you give really good advices and una dey try e no easy to dey give . advice abeg so GOD bless you all and reward you all ur heart desires .. for those expecting it will be your turn soon..cheers yall and all the best to you all.

Boss, this has been answered severally and it depends on the individual, the online is easier with comfort from home, usually allows only a few documents and should be brief while the paper route supports bulk of documents and lots of explanations can be done with proofs.

Please anybody with a solid sample letter on Home Ties... what I mean is a convincing letter that explains home tie to a VO when you don't have a good job or assets and which also explains how best to present your parents and siblings as Ties!

Both are ok, online is good if you don't have much documents to submit(as there's a limit to what you can submit) while paper can accommodate even a trailer load of documents.
if you are in Lagos or Abuja I will advise you go for paper route as it is straight forward (you get to do your biometric immediately ) unlike like online that you will have to wait for biometric invitation (which isn't on the same day of registration).
Also due to the exchange rate, online is more expensive compare to paper route.
But in all, the route you decide to use has nothing to do with the processing time or outcome

Sample letter for home tie kwa? Ok, keep waiting. Nobody here knows you more than you know yourself. What is that thing or people that will give you reason to come back to Nigeria after your studies? family, void you intend filling here in Nigeria after studies etc.

Original passport is what they will ask for (cos you should still have it with you). vfs won't collect it from you until cic ask for passport submission

It gladdens to see that there is progress and the good news are already coming in this part. Like i have repeatedly mentioned on this forum, Life will most often give to us what we demand and not necessarily what we deserve. There is always light at the end of the tunnel.

This forum has changed many lives and is still changing. There is a wealth of information here that are very useful depending on what you seek. What ever information applies to you and your case, always endeavour to cross-check with those on CIC's website.(This cannot be overemphasized) Read up as much as you can, it is actually for no one's good except yours. Eventually, you will need that skill. So hone it while you make progress at different stages of your application.

To the newbies and silent followers, never be in a position of helplessness. You have help here. Use it and in so doing endeavour to ask questions that suggest you too have done a little research on what you are asking. This way, folks here who can proffer any solution, suggestions or advice will readily come to your help. Some questions have already been answered and with a clearer purview. I suggest you quickly skim or glance through previous pages to abreast yourself with these information. It's understandable that the voluminous nature of the thread would require an arduous effort on your part in sourcing those information already addressed. You can simply use the 'search bar' on the thread, type in a 'Keyword' or a phrase of what you seek, it will direct you to the pages and there would be suggestions to guide you. If you are still confused, you can ask directly from what the confusion is. People will respond to you in this situation faster.

Remember this is a very important decision you are making or have made. It certainly will affect your life moving forward. You must ensure you have a good level knowledge of what you are indulging or involved in as you strive.

A refused application is NOT the end. The Canadian visa officers have a strict mandate and discretion at their beck and call. Do not give them more reasons to use it/them to your disadvantage. Pay attention to ALL areas of a reapplication. Do not think that it is only the previous refusal reasons that would be reviewed on a reapplication. Times have changed and it is becoming very stringent especially for Nigerians applying for the Canadian study permit. Pay attention to ALL areas as though it is a fresh application. Take your time, do not rush a reapplication. In actual sense, officers look out majorly for applicants that most likely would not depart Canada at the end of their study. You give them more assurances that you won't depart if you show any form of desperation. It is a temporary resident permit and you must convince them that you will depart.
Choose your program wisely. Show that you truly need the program you are going for and show how it will benefit you progressively. Use all available, genuine resources and evidence to prove this. They are not in a hurry to let you into their country. You can give them a reason to see you as a great asset not just for Nigeria but Canada as well. They have incentives awaiting your arrival that would lure you to their Country on a permanent basis. See yourself as a student first before an immigrant. The rest will sort itself out after the hurdle of issuance of the study permit is crossed.

Tuition = 18,000CAD (First year tuition), Living expenses = 10,000CAD(First year)... Total = 28,000CAD. Your sponsor needs to have money than the total figure shortlisted and have some left for his business, dependants and personal life. The number of dependants will determine how much your father should have in his account. If your father has many dependants, he should show funds X3 of 28,000CAD... i.e 84,000CAD. Preferably, personal and company bank statements should be submitted along with your application.

Visa will be issued based on the length of your program.

Edited: now using WEIRDPC figure for tuition.

Who are considered dependants? What if the mother is the one sponsoring her kid. Can the dependants be under the father only?
