Being like Christ (Christian) is not separate from who you are. It's a nature and not a tag. If the tag is vocalised does not mean it is actually a tag based on religion.

You missed a obvious point. It was people who observed the life of the apostles that called them Christians and they were right because they did the works of Christ. If you are sure of who you are in Christ you can call yourself a Christian.

Also kindly note that we as humans are the ones who are what we call "insults". They are nothing but descriptions. God does not see such words as insults and would call a spade a spade. If one acts like a fool God would call that person a fool.
If one acting foolish same is applicable
If one acted deceptive they are called brood of vipers
If they made a business of the things of God, he would call them thieves etc

Condemnation is different from the usage of those descriptive terms we call "insults".
