ChrisKels:For real Kalu is hustling for a call up. This guy and Simon play in the same team and he constantly outshines him in almost all the matches. His crosses are a beauty to watch. Impact player! Good end product. I like simon but he's not improving his game. What's more baffling is that if you study very closely Our young talents in Belgian pro league like kalu, bonaventura, onyekuru and olyinka all seem to have a better football IQ than simon. This simon needs a coach like pochettino or klopp who will work the potential out of him. 4 Likes |

Thank you! That's his best position, to be quite honest with you. Mikel could be our Andre Pirlo at the World Cup. Normally, when a player begins to age (Wayne Rooney) for instance, he would be moved further down the field, where he could use his experience to control the game without having to deal the pace. In a perfect world, that what we should do with Mikel. The likes of Iwobi, Moses, Iheanacho, etc can handle the AM role. O pari Joebie: |

Actually, it wasn't just Reuben alone. We can excuse him if he had fumbled on only one or two players, but Keshi fumbled on: Michael Uchebo Shola Ameobi Ejike Uzoenyi Kunle Odunlami Ramon Azeez Uche Nwofor And I can go on and on. So it wasn't just one player. The entire bench was useless - sold to the highest bidder. O pari Kog45: 4 Likes 1 Share |

Icon79: i am not convinced on that ... yes mourinho for whatever reason preferred him there and conviced him to start playing there and national team coaches also followed suite..however if i remember his exploits as attacking midfielder in the under 20 championship in Holland and his performance also in the eagles in recent times where he has played as attacking midfielder then i begin to doubt if DM is his best position..i hope he is fully fit in this world cup rest this issue. at times that a player has played in a particular postion for most of his career and done well there might not necessarily mean that is his best postion eg lothar mathaus at italia 90 |

Icon79:Yes O pari master but specifically Reuben was mentioned being a clubless player. I think others are not clubless,so possible they merited it and tell me players that are supposed to make the team. I remember Elderson Echiejele was dropped due to injury, Obiorah Nwankwo couldn't meet up,Fengor Ogude lost his place due to his performance at afcon 2013,Nosa Igiebor had a woeful afcon 2013,Uche IK lost out due to indiscipline, Sunday Mba after Afcon couldn't reproduced the same form and Brown Ideye had a very woeful performance at confederation cup. These are the member of Afcon 2013 that were dropped. Outside this Obafemi Martins was recalled but failed to impress,Joel Obi too couldn't meet up cos he was just coming back from injury, also Bright Dike had injury prior to WC Oh for highest bidder, pls can you prove it. 2 Likes |

If u have a heart, then u gotta feel for this kid. I just hope Ebuehi no follow wicked him brother Loanee Sadiq Umar Cries Out For Referee Protection After Another Stellar Performance For NAC Breda On loan Roma forward Sadiq Umar has cried out about defenders unfairly kicking him in their bid to stop him after winning another penalty in NAC Breda 2-0 win over ADO Den Haag over the weekend. For the second game running, the Nigerian won another spot kick after he was roughly brought down in the box, and a week after his coach was sent off for protesting the decision of the referee in their win over Feyenoord, before he was finally awarded one, the striker has now voiced same worries. Big, strong, quick and skillful, the 21 year old who has taken the Dutch Eredivisie by storm since his loan move in January feels he is not getting enough protection from referees during games. ” I have to be very clear with you, I am feeling pains all over my ankle region and also around my shin. The kicks I get from defenders is not helping me at all. Some protection from the referees will help me a lot”, Jololo as Sadiq is fondly called by friends told Owngoalnigeria.com. ” Defenders are there to stop the strikers from scoring, that I know and the whole world knows it as well but it has to be fairly done. I am seriously battling with not enough protection from the referees “, he concluded. 2 Likes |

realpoacher: Komekn can be a little too biased at times, but where I wouldn't fault him that much is when he asks that our players be standout performers for their teams and leagues especially when they find themselves in the 'backwater leagues' How many of our players are in the French, German, Italy and Spanish league compared to the EPL. This alone gives Komekn enough ground to praise the EPL to high heavens and his involvement with the league itself makes things worse. And again, most of us here are just passionate fans, not analysts really, so you shouldn't expect much from us. hahahaha! 1 Like |

Opponent watch Everton’s Gylfi Sigurdsson may miss World Cup after damaging knee joint Everton’s Gylfi Sigurdsson is to see a specialist amid concerns his season has been ended by a knee injury which could also put his World Cup participation in doubt. The Icelander played the full 90 minutes of the 2-0 win against Brighton at Goodison Park on Saturday but it has emerged he may have damaged ligaments. Sigurdsson is to have the problem assessed on Monday evening but could be out for the rest of Everton’s campaign, which would throw into doubt his chances of featuring in Iceland’s first World Cup, in Russia this summer. His brother Olafur Mar Sigurdsson has spoken to Icelandic media and claims the joint of the player’s right knee is damaged. “It is anticipated the 28-year-old Icelandic international could be sidelined for several weeks but it will only be after consulting with the specialist that a definitive time frame will be known,” an Everton statement read. The £45m club-record signing endured a difficult start to his Everton career having moved from Swansea in the summer as his struggles were matched by the team’s. |

Humility017: Lol! What do you want me to say I've stated my position already and it was plain and simple. Majority of our best players are in England or have at a point in their careers developed there and by saying that Komekn has enough justification to ask for more of our players plying their trades there to be considered for the eagles team, is that a wise decision or not it's a different case entirely. It's not as if we have players in the other top leagues performing week in week out. And again, that you're not one of those who runs down the quality of the EPL time and time again doesn't mean others don't, and I can't remember mentioning anyone's name. And about music, so you've forgotten how Awilo with his Makosa music stormed Nigeria in the early and mid 90s, kids rolling their waists, throwing their hands in the air with excitement to lyrics they don't understand? All the artists I mentioned earlier take musical tours to Asia, north America and the Scandinavians with very little or no English speaking population and we've seen fans in come out in thousands filling up the venue and you tell me music is geographical and lingual. One of the most popular songs currently on earth is a Spanish song 'Despacito' and many of its listeners don't even speak the language. Since you only listen to a genre of music, I guess it's best we leave things at that. |

Truidstar: And that's good enough an excuse when he can hardly execute his primary assignment which lies upfront? As a winger, ur primary assignment is an efficient attacking input followed by defensive contributions which is secondary. I av bn seeing Gent matches lately because of Esiti, and can tell u Moses hasn't been contributing more defensively to Gent than Kalu. Initially, Moses's fans pride themselves over his unofficial appointment as the free kick taker for Gent, lol, guess who has assumed that mantle now and has been delivering... Your guess is as good as mine and if he wasn't better than Moses, he wouldn't have been assigned that duty after it was strapped off Simon. Just as Moses was once Gent's golden boy, Kalu is their present golden boy and he is highly celebrated by Gent's fans. He is wanted by a host of clubs in the top leagues and I expect him to leave by summer. Until Henry's unfortunate injury, he was the only Nigerian winger better than Kalu amongst the players plying their trade in Belgium. Stat wise, the likes of Olayinka and Bonaventure have even done better than Moses this season. We need to tell ourselves the truth... 2 Likes |
