Yes O pari master but specifically Reuben was mentioned being a clubless player.

Reuben was with Kilmarnock

Reuben was with Kilmarnock

He was in Belgium at the time of the WC and was released on a free after the WC

Reuben had barely played football for 2 years.. He played sporadically after his injury but was far from WC form.

You're right. I remember how we celebrated that move to Belgium. It was thought back then that his coach at Kilmarnock had personal hatred for him. He always questioned Reuben's continues invitation to the National team even with him being inactive in his club.

Lol it’s just that Osimhen didn’t score on his debut. That’s only what separates them

grin

Mujtahida:

Hahahaha hahahaha. I just realised I didn't hear about him again after those debut goals. Wish him well still.

18 year old center back, Shawn Adewoye of Genk in Belgium.. Potentially, one for the future.

Will surely keep an eye on this one, Genk have a reputation with producing talented youngsters.

Yeah he had a few good games for Almeria that season.

Keshi had too much faith in him. He always insisted he was talented and would prove people wrong.

Alampasu inactivity is costing him big time.. I wonder why he did not seek a loan move when other players were moving.
Sir did you believe this story by ANZ.

I know the two will not make it.very glaring and we cannot take both Ezenwa and Ajiboye to WC and Alampasu being inactive narrow his chances but can Rohr made such declaration at this stage.

He was like Keshi's adopted son. Too much faith in the boy even when he was not playing.

For purely footballing reasons, there is no way Reuben should have been in the national team.

Yes Keshi believe so much on Rueben and i remember when he came into the scene a lot of fans believe a star has arrived before injury sidelined him.

Any updates on Ebuhei injury

Yeah he had a few good games for Almeria that season.

Look at Etebo in Las palmas, Ndidi in Leicester... Those are players clearly in great form for their teams.

Azeez had a few good games but he was anonymous several times for his team. That said, I believe, he made the WC team on merit but he should never have been a first choice sub.

Aluko and Igiebor on pure quality should have been there.

I thought Nosa Igiebor had a woeful performance at afcon and later replaced by Sunday Mba at afcon.

Spot on Aluko but i would have preferred Mba making the team at the expense of Azeez.

This was a regular occurrence with those who repeatedly criticised Keshi's selections. Keshi got criticised on people's yardsticks and not on the yardstick of the manager.

For instance, the criticism of the inclusion of Azeez and suggesting Nosa and Aluko when Azeez can play as a defensive midfielder while Aluko and Nosa do not play that role.

Some criticised the inclusion of Shola Ameobi, forgetting that Keshi liked big strikers like Bright Dike, Emenike, Ideye etc.

Keshi liked to make gambles. Lot of times came out right. Like the case of Mba and Babatunde that drew criticism but showed quality in tourneys they played.

Keshi deserves praise for impacts for instance despite the lack of quality players was able to match a star studded French side and the French resorting to injuring our players to get Keshi's team knocked out.

Igiebor played as a DM for Betis and as seen in the first game, Keshi played Azeez in an offensive role which could have suited Aluko, Igiebor, Mba...etc.

Keshi was great at getting the best from average players. He was a great motivational guy but determination without quality can only get you so far. The overall selection was not great. The same thing happened at the confederations cup. Poor selection.

With a little more quality on the bench, we could have taken the France game to extra time, maybe even nicked it.

Actually, it wasn't just Reuben alone. We can excuse him if he had fumbled on only one or two players, but Keshi fumbled on:

Michael Uchebo
Shola Ameobi
Ejike Uzoenyi
Kunle Odunlami
Ramon Azeez
Uche Nwofor

And I can go on and on. So it wasn't just one player. The entire bench was useless - sold to the highest bidder.

O pari

Remove Ramon Azeez from the list. Except you believe Etebor and Ndidi are useless and don't deserve to be called up for this coming WC.

Quality?well it makes the difference sometimes but generally not cos despite our quality we lost to Denmark 4 goals to 1 at France for 98.

I think Keshi team lost to a better side and those two goals really exposed Enyeama especially first goal,a good keeper on air would have no problem with first goal.

The second goal,Enyeama supposed to stay put cos Yobo was already on but Enyeama came out and we conceded own goal.

I think we lost to a good team.

Keshi was not going to play Nosa in the DM role. He played Azeez as a deep lying player.

What I am saying is Keshi had his tactical approach to games that got him results. In the confeds, we matched the World Cup Champions Spain in play. Our finishing plus their quality tilted the results in the Spanish favor.

We did not have quality players then and Keshi relied on tactical innovations to match quality teams. Same goes with our 2-2 game with Italy. The highly criticised Ameobi was the man of the match.

When Oliseh came on board, he noticed the so called criticism was unfair when he found it hard rallying quality players for the Super Eagles.

We lost the midfield battle immediately Onazi was injured. From there, we were under serious pressure and it was only a matter of time.

The game would have remained balanced if Onazi stayed. We could have had a chance to equalize if they scored us. Immediately he left, there was only one winner.

With a quality replacement, the game could have remained balanced.
