I have learnt to stop comparing our players to their foreign counterparts. Simply because they're not on the same WAVELENGHT and so I can never judge them by the same FREQUENCY. The difference is clear and obvious. The difference is NATIONALITY and NATIONALITY ALONE. We're always trying to compare Nigeria players with those players from S.America, Europe etc when we all know that the FIELD OF PLAY IS NEVER FAIR AND EVEN. A certain coach came on board and gave a relatively unknown player from S.America a call and the next was history. If Ndidi was to be a European or a S.American, no one will be here discussing this. The Main Stream media would have pass their verdict on his quality. To those who never believe in the quality of our players, I say put other top DMs(the Kroos, the Casemiros, etc) in leicester and let's see if they'll churn out the same numbers Ndidi is producing week in week out. I have come to appreciate the work our boys are putting everyweek in Europe to keep the our flag flying. I know someday, verysoon, we'll silent every doubters. Those who never believe any good thing can come out of NIGERIA. I rest my case 6 Likes |

tbaba1234:For God sakes what was Kante doing? If it's our own a little star dust sprinkled on the player's head and people say '' heyyyy be careful, don't make him a god just yet' |

As africans we believe anything white is better than black, ndidi and matic needs no comparison because ndidi is far more better than him currently. Someone said matic pushed mikel out of chelsea, which signifies that he is better than mikel, this is pure falacy, in no way will matic be better than mikel both stats or by trophies won. I rest my case. 2 Likes |

AIG07:lol.... Quality is quality irrespective of nationality... Ask George weah or toure, Drogba, eto to name but a few.... If you don't measure yourself against international standard how do you develop.... We go meet for world cup na.... It is not rocket science why s. America and Europe dominate the world cup.... They are the best in terms of football.... Take it or leave it. . That is the reality.... To be the best you have to beat the best.... For ndidi to be rated a top quality dm he has to perform better than he's American and European counterparts... O pari 3 Likes |

tbaba1234:When Makalele redefined the DM position how many goals did he score, how many sublime passes did he thread through defences, how about dribbles? He was basically a defender in the midfield. Shikena and he excelled in it. That alone stood him out. 1 Like |

eterisan:Point is if his counterpart do so much as he's doing they'd get more than enough credit. I am not one for using terms like world class to describe our players. I don't see racism but then there's a reality you are not aware of. It's harder for black players. They have to be twice as good to get even their names mentioned. Drogba and the rest are the ones no one could do otherwise. They were not good. They were too good. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by eterisan(m): 10:51pm On Mar 13, 2018 |
Mujtahida:it all boils down to fifa rating, work permit issues... Bla Bla Bla... Probably Im going too far... But trust fifa standard they rule the game.... If we africans want to be the best... We beat the best... Besides we leave our country to go play there and you say they are not the best.... It's harder for black players because we are not the best... It's simple.... No inferiority complex here... Else why don't African teams run over Europeans nd Americans at the world cup.... We should change the way we think.... Accept where we are in the grand scheme of things and strive to grow from there.... 3 Likes |

LZAA:Attack the message not the nationality of the messenger. What difference would it have made if the assertion was coming from a French magazine. Does stats rule today's football or not. Forget about football trends in Italy, Spain or France. We will discuss that some other time. Question is what is the single and overriding consideration across the board in today's football? Stats! Pure stats. 1 Like |

AIG07:thank you for this question... We got different types of quality... World class, average, bang average, shhht etc.... The stats tells the story... Type of team, team contribution, trophies.. There are so many parameters used to measure quality.... Ndidi for me is just outside the bracket of top quality dm.... He is not there yet.... When he improves he's attacking qualities then we can talk.... You can't call him world class based on he's tackling stats alone.... I Pray he gets there 1 Like |
