smiles...... I been wan hook the bros.... He dodge... No wahala.... We all wish ndidi the best.... Infact I am very happy for him and prays he earns a good move and wins trophies... But first he has to improve to that international, top quality dm standard.... U dig
There's always room for improvement. No doubt but currently he's doing something which if it were done by others red carpets would be rolled out. That's my point. This is the logic: if you are exceptionally good at what you do (as Ndidi is now at least in tackles ) and no recognition comes you will most likely never become the best because by the time you struggle to climb that hill, your strength is gone. Recognition will just go to the new shining boy in town.

it all boils down to fifa rating, work permit issues... Bla Bla Bla... Probably Im going too far... But trust fifa standard they rule the game.... If we africans want to be the best... We beat the best... Besides we leave our country to go play there and you say they are not the best.... It's harder for black players because we are not the best... It's simple.... No inferiority complex here... Else why don't African teams run over Europeans nd Americans at the world cup.... We should change the way we think.... Accept where we are in the grand scheme of things and strive to grow from there....
@first bold, how many Nigeria players were signed by top teams in Europe in 1995 when Nigeria was ranked 5th by FIFA and despite the 94 performance?
There are more to this things than the eyes can see.

I don agree with you On the second bold-A resilent mindset.

Attack the message not the nationality of the messenger. What difference would it have made if the assertion was coming from a French magazine. Does stats rule today's football or not. Forget about football trends in Italy, Spain or France. We will discuss that some other time. Question is what is the single and overriding consideration across the board in today's football? Stats! Pure stats.
first u say don't attack the nationality then u say forget other nations
stats may rule in england but believe me in the rest of europe only fitness coaches and club statisicians and gamblers care about that hogwash
there was something souness said about stats after man u's win over liverpool

for serious managers no
ancelotti had d worst stats as a player in milan yet sacchi signed him

oga you must agree for the first o... Cos me I knw say that 95,96 na we get players for Barcelona, ajax, dortmund, inter, ac Milan, come lead enter arsenal chelses..... Last last.... The time frame may not be spot on but it was a boom period... The domino effect of our top ranking was felt in our player transfers

Not with his long legs. He needs to cut it off and let’s see if he can still get those tackle numbers. Or better yet tall keepers get shorter and be tested.
grin
tbaba1234:

He is doing what DMs are there for... Disrupting play.

Apart from the limited experience at top level, Ndidi ability is world class.. He was playing under 17 in 2013.. Topping the whole of Europe with your tackling and interceptions is not an easy feat

I said forget nationality cos if that clip was coming from a an Italian magazine it won't change the message. Talking about football trends was totally out of the context of numbers ruling today's game. What rules in Spain? In France? In Germany? Numbers and stats. Mind you at a deeper level it accords with the mental frame of the white man. He thinks scientifically. So we are just scratching the surface yet as per the rulership of numbers in today's game. It's going to get deeper. You obviously not looking at trends in the game from a wholistic angle. Ever wondered the why and what of technology in today's football?

At the end of every game what remains is a harvest of stats - for managers, pundits, fans even the referees.

No more talk about the sweetness of a pass, a nod, a free kick. Instead it's the velocity, the speed, the power. Can you measure the sweetness of a pass? No! But the velocity, the speed, the power can be measured.

thank you for this question... We got different types of quality... World class, average, bang average, shhht etc.... The stats tells the story... Type of team, team contribution, trophies.. There are so many parameters used to measure quality.... Ndidi for me is just outside the bracket of top quality dm.... He is not there yet.... When he improves he's attacking qualities then we can talk.... You can't call him world class based on he's tackling stats alone.... I Pray he gets there
baba, how is stats generated? Or how do players churn out stats?
Let me help. Let me summarize in two words 'GAME TIME'.

You only know a player has quality when he plays. You can and should never assume that a player lacks quality without seeing him play.

Most Nigerian players are never given enough time to show what they've got compare to their counterparts. Yet, you want us to judge them with the same yardstick. That's unfair.

Give both parties same opportunity and see who'll excel.

On Ndidi, I didn't say he is World class. The guy's performance as put him at the top.

u do realise they are such tinz as pointless stats dont u?
liverpool had all d possession and lost to man u
barca had all d possession and lost to bayern
bayern had all the possession and lost to chelsea
yet if u look at the stats and use it as d main yardstick ur first thought would be that its impossible
football is about tactics and having the right players for any system
again stats are just used for records and fitness purposes

Let me ignore your first line cos what I wrote before doesn't necessitate such conclusion
Whether pointless stats or pointful stats I'm saying presently stats rule football. A goal is a pointless stats abi? The fact that the stat is pointless yet they still take note of it, they still record even the pointless stats to the extent you can refer to it makes my point. Stats rule football today to the extent that even pointless stats are recorded.

yes technology has entered football but the basics still reign supreme
no serious manager is going to buy a player on distance covered or number of sprints or sideway passes
hazard has the most dribbles in europe but can u compare messi and hazard's dribbles as per whose is more effective

Look at Etebo in Las palmas, Ndidi in Leicester... Those are players clearly in great form for their teams.

Azeez had a few good games but he was anonymous several times for his team. That said, I believe, he made the WC team on merit but he should never have been a first choice sub.

Aluko and Igiebor on pure quality should have been there.

Did you follow Ramon Azeez in the la Liga that season?

Keshi was not going to play Nosa in the DM role. He played Azeez as a deep lying player.

What I am saying is Keshi had his tactical approach to games that got him results. In the confeds, we matched the World Cup Champions Spain in play. Our finishing plus their quality tilted the results in the Spanish favor.

We did not have quality players then and Keshi relied on tactical innovations to match quality teams. Same goes with our 2-2 game with Italy. The highly criticised Ameobi was the man of the match.

When Oliseh came on board, he noticed the so called criticism was unfair when he found it hard rallying quality players for the Super Eagles.

Which game did he play Azeez as deep lying player??

good evening friend, we about launching nija first betting site with No odds, no cuts.

Predict score, totalizer, go head to head with a rival and win instantly.

Question: But i read that even if the ticket cut there is still going to be payment how come?

Answer: The site doesn't deal with odds or cuts, we simply pay you from those who lost the bet so if 5 people place a bet for example and 3 choose the wrong team we pay the other 2 from the money of the 3 people, simple right, this way you get paid daily.

With 300 naira or more you can simply place bet on different games, 2, 3 cuts, no problem, u simply get paid from the once you won.

visit www.betonnaira.com for more details

Sharing Formular Stalled Sunday Mba's Move To CA Bastia (french Ligue 2 club)

Goal discovered from a prominent contact who was privy to the contract and it was discovered that the sharing of the €150,000 involved as transfer fee was the major cause of the deal not materializing in the first place.

Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi allegedly demanded for €50,000 from the deal which Warri Wolves boss Amaju Pinnick perceived was too much and believed that the remaining €100,000 won’t be enough for him and Emmanuel Ibru, who was also involved in the sale of the player, to share.
