Fabihno = status quo ( perhaps slightly better under pressure), Yes
Can = utility player on a free? Sure. But he is probably not a great fit. Conditional yes.
Diawara = if you play in Napoli's system you can pick ours up in weeks. So if it's a Napoli player at any position, the answer is always Yes!
FDJ: Style, composure, temperament, technique, size, vision, skill, movement. He has it in bucket loads. Only downside being current competition. But his style strikes me as competition proof. An absolute Yes for me.
Ndidi: A no for me. An average passer, with average speed, great strength and fantastic tackling. What he is great at will be wasted here, and what he isn't so great at will slow us down. No on Ndidi. Post from a man city forum... Link http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/members/delphinho.80474/....... We should drop this gwg tainted glasses abeg...... Please don't tell us what we already know. Do u have proof that Keshi did anything that they are accusing him of? Nigeria is corrupt I get that but let us respect the dead for goodness sake. What does bringing out skeletons in this man's closet do for any of us? If u are telling me that all our footballing problems will be solved by this then by all means carry on.

I actually do not have proof that would stand up to inspection in a Nigerian court.

And I certainly would not make it public as for now the matter is over taken by events.

It's an Injustice to highlight only the faults and not the attributes. Keshi was an excellent coach RIP, did he have faults yes he did. But then which man is perfect .

Let the matter REST.

Ndidi is an excellent player world class not yet.

In my experience the tag world class is usually converges when the team you are in complements your outstanding attributes and starts winning trophies and leagues.

If Messi was playing for Sevilla and didn't win anything would he have any accolades, I very much doubt it.

So let's get matters in perspective. Possibly when Ndidi moves to Mancity, Barca, Real or Bayern then he will get the world wide claim as the best in the world that some have already crowned him with.

The question is... What does it take to be a top defensive midfielder? what is the primary assignment of a dm, and in this, how do you rate Ndidi in comparison to Matic?

Manchester City look to Bundesliga superstar after cooling interest in Fred – report
By City Watch 
Posted on March 13, 2018
RELATED ITEMS: FEATURED , FRED , JULIAN WEIGL Manchester City have cooled their interest in recent midfield target Fred according to reports today by The Times , Goal and Daily Mail .
The news comes as a surprise after City had
reportedly been in advanced negotiations to land the 24-year-old Brazil international, but Paul Hirst of The Times writes that the two clubs could not come to an agreement despite City loaning striker Larry Kayode to the Ukrainian giants.
While a deal isn’t impossible it is now rated as unlikely, and fresh reports claim that Manchester United could instead sign Fred, continuing their recent habit of signing City targets.
Shakhtar CEO Sergei Palkin told Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport today, “Fred isn’t already at Manchester City, but he will surely leave in June. If not to City, then Manchester United.
“He’s ready for the next stage, because as well as being good, he’s also very professional. If he asked us to stay another year, we’d let him.”
City are now expected to turn their attentions to other targets, with Julian Weigl of Borussia Dortmund listed as a primary candidate by The Times .
A host of midfielders other than Fred and Weigl have been linked with a switch to the Etihad in recent months, including Lazio’s impressive
Sergej Milinković-Savić , Jorginho of Napoli, and Liverpool star Emre Can who is out of contract in the summer.
City are in considerable need of a new midfielder who can play in a deeper role, with Fernandinho soon to turn 33 and Yaya Touré out of contract in June and leaving the club. The big question now is if not Fred, then who?

IF Ndidi continues like this , then the truth is not far from Guardiola grin grin grin

bros you do finish work.... N wety I de talk since... Ndidi is excellent yes.... World class no.. World class players play for world class teams and win trophies upon trophies and win accolades... Best player this best team that.... Ndidi can and will only get there if nd when he improves the attacking side of his game..... Padding tackling stats alone won't do it... Cos for top teams d best form of defence is attack.... Controlling the midfield.... Starving your opponent of possession... An average tackler with good passing stats can play that role.... Kroos n gundogan anyone...

Reread my post again, the key word there is PRIMARY. What are the primary qualities of a defensive midfielder? The primary criterion for a defensive midfielder in Chelsea or A.C Millan, may be different from that of Manchester city or Arsenal, but even at that the foremost characteristics of a defensive midfielder are ... the ability to Shield the defence, tackle and break up play.

wow and here i was thinking matic left because of bakayoko
and here i was thinking it was fabregas complaining of game time last season
kante is a central mid and matic is a dm
they can swap roles but these are their main positions from where they are most effective
oh btw kante was not upcoming when he joined chelsea grin
I thought Ndidi replaced Kante as DM at Leicester.

And before the arrival of Kante who was Chelsea DM

Hope you remember is either Kante start with Matic or Fabregas, are you now saying Fabregas is DM.

Last season at Chelsea Conte rotate Fabregas and Matics as CM and Kante as DM.

Oh Kante established before coming to Chelsea, fine now tell me who is more established between Kante and Matics

ndidi is excellent at these primary qualities, but having that alone limits him in the grand scheme of things.. That is my point.... He has to also excel at the secondary qualities of a midfielder, which are passing, dribbles, shooting, free kicks, assists.... Then and then alone will he be world class.... I don't think Ndidi is up against Rakitic if he goes to Barcelona. He's up against Busquet and we all know who will play and who will sit on the bench if that be the case.

It's annoying. That Argentina match, the viewing centre I watched was filled up with patriotic pessimists. They came to look for loop holes and then watch dem Dybala and co roast us to the ashes. They were so happy that after the first goal, they were already shouting. Sad laughter followed after the second goal.

We equalized and the usual talks of that Argentina go still score was everywhere.

Only me and an old man(Obviously a golden generation fan) were optimistic.

Then I discovered the reason why they are that pessimistic in nature, which is no excuse atall still..... Nacho's freekick entered and allllll the pessimists jumped up to scream goaaaallllll.

Why did they scream goal when they had no hope for the team?

Simple...... It's been long we scored such goal from set piece against a very big team.

So you see, they just wanted exceptional play. Some of them injured during the celebration cos they heeded not the ceiling fans that was above their heads. But they cared not.

Three more goals and we all left the place on a high..... They sounded like the Jews in the era of Christ..... Hosanna today, Crucify him tomorrow!!!!!

They were now the ones that were hyping Nacho, Iwobi, and Brian Idowu Asif they've seen Idowu play like 20games for any team sef. SMH.

The old man told me that these are plastic fans, thanks to club football standards as he zoomed off in his SUV. He looked wealthy but he forsook his big house to join others in a viewing Centre!!!!
