eterisan: It seems I have to repeat the same point over and over again. I was captivated by Nacho's finishing and my stance has not change. Nacho is a more lethal finisher than Mbappe and Gabriel Jesus. Despite all the noise about Gabby, I watch him miss goals and sigh, Nacho will bury that. However, their other attributes, work rate, speed, skills and defending makes them a preference. I respect the technical managers like Emery, Guardiola etc. They want the work rate over finishing. Just like Klopp prefers Firmino to Benteke or Guardiola prefers Gabriel Jesus to Aguero. I will pick Aguero ahead of Gabby any day. The Spaniard (Guardiola) isn’t sold on the conventional striker, whose sole role is to find the back of the net and break scoring records, he also demands great off-the-ball work, technical prowess and tactical intelligence from his forwards. From Goal When I watched Mbappe and Gabby Jesus, I did not see that lethal striking force I see in Nacho and rated Nacho ahead. Until today, Nacho is more lethal but in all round play they trump him. Gerrit? |

Just a few weeks back, Ndidi played a midfield of Fabregas, Kante and Bakayoko. He was dominant and outshone all the big names. He was the man of the match with all the midfield stars on show. He just needs to move to a bigger club to gain more recognition. 2 Likes |

TheSuperNerd:1. He is playing as a RW. So yes he'll seem like a "Power runner" to you unlike some of us who watched him play in the youth teams 2. Thank you for mentioning a point which I forgot earlier - Ambidexterity. Mbappe is comfortable scoring with both feet and even the biggest Nacho fanboy wouldn't dream of comparing both on that. 3. Go watch all the goals Mbappe has scored. It's on youtube. Then tell me Nacho scores greater variety because he scored a freekick against Argentina. I do watch well. It's how I picked up his 2 main qualities which he's probably world class at - Finishing(alot closer to world class) and a final ball. His off the ball movement is good but nothing special when compared to the likes of Mbappe and G Jesus. That's why Pep sold him. That's why Pep played Sterling as a false 9 even when Nacho was fit. These are facts!! 1 Like |

Icon79: but Banega is a CMF na. You saw Ben Yedder yesterday right? He got less than 30mins and scored 2 goals, back then we used to say that 30mins cameo isn't enough for Kelechi to score for Mancity, but someone actually did that for Sevilla against Manchester United. It is of course very very possible that Kelechi if given the chance can bench that Muriel guy no doubt but saying that he will be a certain starter for Sevilla isn't true 1 Like |

tbaba1234: I really really disagree with this moving to a bigger club tag. Not every player is made for the big clubs, I gave an example of Krychowiak who is similar to Ndidi. I believe, in England atleast, Leicester is his best bet. It's not like Puel is a bad manager |

Mickael2: Kelechi scored from several cameos at Man City though. Anyway, i think we should allow Kelechi grow.. Mbappe is playing at a higher level than him now. Hopefully Kelechi can reach the heights of world football. But for now, let him grow. 1 Like |

tbaba1234: which is why I said it is very very possible that he can be a starter for Sevilla no doubt, his talent isn't in doubt. Meanwhile, can you confidently beat your chest and tell me that you can't recall when people were asking if I wanted him to score goals from cameos? |

Mickael2:The bolded is the recognition his stats has earned him and that's my point. Truth is tackling is not all there is about his game but thus far that is what stands him out and he deserves commendation. |

Mickael2: If he does not move to a bigger club, he would not get the desired attention. If he is churning these stats on champions league nights, his profile will grow. Bigger clubs can also help him improve other areas of his game. 1 Like |

Mickael2:Proven himself in a Ligue un and UCL too. Yet he's overhyped according to some. Same Ligue un that Bernado Silva came from and is finally shining. Same Ligue Un that Mahrez, Kante and Payet came from. Same Ligue un that produced the two players with the highest tackling/interceptions in their first season back in 15/16 ( Kante and Gueye). But hey... |

Mickael2:Oh no question about it. As a destroyer, he's right up there with some of the best. He needs to work more on his ball handling. He does that and we're looking at a world class DM. Other things like reading the game and interceptions, his pace and agility will always bail him out. |

tbaba1234: I think there was an error in what I said. He should move to a big club yes, but the type of big club is the issue. Is Valencia a big club? What I have a problem with is saying he should move to a barca type-possession dependent big club. At 21, passing still isn't his best trait, let him just continue what he is doing where he is doing it |

edi287:and that is why I said "come and join us in March", in football, you are only as good as your last game and in Nacho's last game, his first touch was pretty fine If you want to pull out the first touch argument, you're two months late. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mickael2(m): 6:16pm On Mar 14, 2018 |
Daejoyoung: that is the problem. What if he goes there and he doesn't perform? The European press would quickly tag him a flash in the pan, there really is not assurance so why not just stick to your guns? I totally agree with Roma but I disagree with Juventus |

TheSuperNerd:Yeah he was so hyped up he played well in the ucl in his first season. 6 goals. That's half the goals Nacho scored in 46 games for City despite Mbappe playing as a support striker. It's Mbappe facts that Pep benched Nacho for Sterling because of his off the ball movement It's Mbappe facts that when Gabriel Jesus signed for City, you were saying how he'd play as a winger and wouldn't be affected yet Jesus ended up benching both him and Nacho. Mbappe facts are true facts!! Majority of football fans love Mbappe facts. Heck even Pep loves Mbappe facts!! 1 Like |

Mickael2: A possession club will help him improve that attribute. Arsenal can do with a ball winner with his ability. Xhaka is atrocious defensively but he can pass. See, how porous Arsenal's defense is.. |
