nuoladee:But you have never been in that situation. Even the masters in USA is not even all it is cracked up to be. I would even prefer him going to Canada to do it and can settle there much better. The relative left 20 years ago but returned to 9ja just a few years back. People like me have been in the diaspora system long enough to see how things have changed. Even for those coming to do masters. I always give the same advice I just did to my relatives and friends. About half of them half of them have come and returned to 9ja already. And they are glad they did NYSC. First things first. Other can follow. |

oshdam2015:They do accept HND without the yeye PGD sef. Straight HND. Just do a credential evaluation, preferebly with WES and they will evaluate your HND to a four year US Bachelors degree. That’s all you need. It’s about $300. 1 Like |

bonjelow: This is a very simple thing. While i was in service in year 2015/2016, i knew some fellow corp members who left the country then and still got their certificates sent to them when service ended. All they did was to contact the LGI and made arrangements with him and he was just taking their allowee and was signing their CDS and PVs for them. America is a nice place filled with opportunities. I am saying this cos i have been there too. I got the visa immediately after i finished service December 2016 and i traveled there January last year but returned back June endin just to sort some things here. I am still goin back there later this year and start my life there afresh. Just take this candid advice. 1 Like |

bonjelow: Go for your masters. You can serve anytime you choose to return to Nigeria even if you are above 30 by then. What the NYSC law states is that you must serve if you graduate from a full-time programme when you were 30years old or younger. If you refuse to serve now and travel out of Nigeria, it will be assumed that you evaded service. Anytime you are ready, you can always go back to your school re-fill the mobilisation form and get called up for service. Those obviously old men you see at NYSC camp are examples. They didn't reduce their age. I met a politician during my service year in same situation. He evaded service and had to come back when he was denied some political appointments. He was 45years old then and it showed clearly on all the credentials he used for verification. Don't let NYSC be an impedance to realization of your dreams. 1 Like 1 Share |

yemi15: I don’t think that accurate. Once you are above 28, you don’t need to do the NYSC thing, and don’t need to show proof of youth service before applying for a job. |
