No Group D Team Will Win 3 Games

Speaking to reporters at a press conference on Friday, March 16, Iceland coach Heimir Hallgrímsson has predicted that no team in Group D at the World Cup will win all their three group matches.
The Nordic country, who are set to appear in their first World Cup, will do battle with Argentina, Nigeria and Croatia.
''These are strong opponents, everyone knows. We are convinced that there will be no team in this group that wins all the games and there will be no team in this group losing all the games, " said Heimir.
"We think our potential is fine. If we have a good performance in Russia, we have a good chance of getting out of the group. ''
He added : ''Another advantage of a strong group is that if we get out of it, the next opponents who are waiting for us are no stronger than our team.
"The biggest challenge is to get out of the group, there's no point to stop us.''
To prepare Iceland for their World Cup fixture against Nigeria, the Football Association of Iceland have organized a friendly with Ghana on June 7, fifteen days before they tackle the Super Eagles in Volgograd.

NPFL clubs are a bunch of flashbangs; Can cause temporary show of greatness and then when you least expect, they just
wound down on expectations. haba

I guess we have good teams but very very poor tacticians and technicians handling these teams?

Cos over the years, we've rarely focused on that aspect of our league. Can a coach just get a tactics right for once?

Is Intel availability an issue?

Talented Midfielder Released By Tottenham After Pledging International Future To Nigeria

English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur have parted company with talented Nigerian midfielder Moroyin Omolabi.
According to the English Football Association’s official website, Omolabi's registration with Tottenham Hotspur has been cancelled by mutual consent, paving the way for him to try his luck elsewhere.
Championship outfit Reading are believed to be in pole position for the services of the versatile midfielder.
The 18-year-old has been training with the Royals for more than one month and figured for their U18 team in their 6-2 loss to Arsenal in the U18 Premier League and was an unused substitute for the U23s against Aston Villa in the Premier League 2 Division Two just five days ago.
Omolabi celebrated his maiden competitive goal in the colours of Tottenham Hotspur against West Ham in October 2017.
That same month, he committed his international future to Nigeria, and sources close to the player informed
allnigeriasoccer.com that he was queried by Spurs for choosing the African powerhouse ahead of his country of birth.
Before this official announcement, Moroyin Omolabi had planned to depart Tottenham Hotspur as he had fallen out of favour with the powers that be after making a big career decision without consulting the club and last represented the U18s five months ago.

Chai oga, you were waiting for one slip-up from him just to type what you have had in mind.

Do you know how many errors balogun has made so far?
Same with Awanzie and Troost?

The 3 names I listed have tasted red cards this year alone, some caused goals (balogun and Troost), how come you didn't ask Rohr to replace them with the "German born"?

So far so good, Omerue has been one of the most consistent defenders this year and you want to sentence him just for one "not so good" performance as evidence against him?
tbaba1234:
Omeruo has been quite good this season but his last game reminded us about the other side of Omeruo. He was at fault for all 3 goals in my opinion.

Rohr appears to be focused on getting at least one of the german CBs to join the team. I won't be surprised if we have one for the final camp.

Unfortunately, Omeruo will most likely be the one to be dropped. Rohr has already dropped Omeruo in a few recent invitations.

Where have I asked that Omeruo be replaced?? Stop misinterpreting my statements...

I simply said that He is down Rohr's pecking order below Ekong, Balogun and Awaziem and he is the one that is most likely to be replaced if it comes to it

That is clear to anyone, who has followed the team

I used to tell you some of us are really foreign freak and we intend to be biased when it comes to sensitive issues.

Think of it we lowered the standard of goalkeeping to division three even regional league just to absorbed the FB but truth be told it's absurd considering a youth keeper with no experience for super eagles even if keeper like Akpeyi is not convincing.

Now to Bundesliga trio,i specifically watched Uduokhai and Akpoguma this season and of late Torunarigha. No doubt they are good guys that will add value to our team but not on automatic slots especially for WC.

Uduokhai,Akpoguma and Torunarigha are normal footballer like what we have presently with no clear distinct except having real fundamental basic knowledge of football which cannot be taken away from them but without sentiments attached ,it would be a huge task for them to displace any defenders even Omeruo

I see some criticising Omeruo for best reason know to them forgetting this is a young lad with WC experience and is doing well for his club though tbaba1234 said he should be blamed for his side three goals but we forgot that if we want to base it on weekly performance some of our players would not smell national team

They cannot be having outstanding weekly performance always,so normal to have one or two matches that they failed to live upto expectations but that should not be a yardstick to judge them or to make us believe they are not good enough cos of some foreign born players who turned us down but seeing WC as an avenue to explore.

WC slot to Torunarigha would be a greatest mistake from Rohr and NFF cos it can destabilize the unity of the team and they should take a cue from Cameroon national team who did similar thing for the likes of Assou Ekotto, they paid dearly for it.

Let these FBs come to camp and prove that they are better just like Ebuhei,Idowu and Aina did recently and the team would be better for it.

Not against the German guys but they should prove to us that they are better and convincing
Baabu automatic slot. The bolded is the word!

Sir Chriskels.... This Jordan Torunarigha rumor. Reports say the NFF have approached him and have offered him a slot in the WC team as part of our defence. I know you had something for us and you said you didn't wanna play spoilsport.... Well, I just dey ask in a whisper... Could this be it? Or your undercover news na another matter entirely? wink

My personal Opinion and fantasy: wink I really hope we can land Torunarigha ahead of Russia if there is a chance at all. That lad is impressive and is at least ready to step into the GWG colors based on his quality and Bundesliga exposure.

So without him being tested in a one or two friendlies he then has an automatic spot to Russia. Is that Fair-Play and a level playing field

Is he a stand out player in the Bundesliga

let him stop using that excuse.

Were Iwobi and Moses not playing for English teams too when they pledged their international future to Nigeria? Were they sacked by their clubs?

They released, sorry, sacked you because you're not good enough. period.

this is very bad.

This morning, Someone emphatically said MFM are out and will chop 5 unreplied goals. He said those MC Algeirs are weaked at home. They lost a match away only to return to spank the same side 9 goals to nothing at their base.

I hope MFM's case won't worst reach this.
