Timi, did you see the report on the Corolla? Did she read the report and for one that claimed rip off has refused to name the dealer.

Why are you answering my question with another question?

Helpishere and Denn, please state why you shifted the point of argument to maintenance history/ culture from the fact facing us that cars45 presented 2 reports for same vehicle, they stated its 2011 when selling, but 2009 when buying...

Please sit down and have deep thoughts about all the OP and others who shared there experience have said and if you truly are straightforward state if you think cars45 was totally truthful in their dealings.

I appreciate your line of thoughts on this issue.

Permit me however to ask some pertinent questions.

Can the op or any other person provide evidence to show that the car had two different reports at the same time?

Is there any evidence where cars45 stated that the car as 2011 or accusations are just based on claims by the op? How about the VIN sticker on cars that clearly shows year of manufacture? Should the op not have logically checked that if there was any doubt before purchase?

The OP did not complain of any fault during uber usage on the first day and even prior during transport from cars45 to the OP's location. Complaint came on the second day (of which a lot of issues could have happened via driver neglect. Did the driver for example check the coolant level before driving out in the morning?, was there any drive where the undercarriage scraped bad road sections, was the radiator cover properly reinstalled after the morning check etc)

My argument is that the OP is being economical with the truth on some aspects of this transaction. It is very easy to claim a victim status.

Whilst I am not happy that the op suffered some loss and inconveniences on the vehicle transaction, I think this is a learning point for all parties.

A vehicle buyer should not assume a car is 100% fit to travel to Akwa-Ibom 15 minutes after purchase even after negligently failing to read the inspection report.

I am a reasonable person here. I am not a dealer nor a friend of cars45, maybe one day I might be and I am not currying any favour from them except that I admired a Range Rover sport in their yard which it is very impossible to be given to me free of charge. You asked a question about the two conflicting reports the op claimed was given to her. Maybe she sent the copies to you but on this thread, nothing like that. I have asked who she gave the car to, to put in order for Uber action and what they did on the car? All she could say was that she changed the four tyres and what if it was the negligence of the mechanic that caused the overheating? If we all want justice for her, let her paste the copies of the different reports given to her and let us see if cars45 are at fault.

Just look at this response angry

You just indirectly acknowledged that cars45 do buy a lot of junk cars. They then get middlemen (agents/dealers) to sell scrap to unsuspecting customers or people with no flair for troubleshooting automobiles on a commission basis. At the end of the day, they absolve themselves of any liability and direct you back to the middlemen.

Your case is beyond me
Naija used cars with wrong oil, tiny plugs irrespective of number, thermostat removed, fan permanently on, air filter clogged, using seahorse as gear oil, using abro for power steering fluid, using winter tyes and all season tyres on the same car and when the end result is giving the owners nightmare, they look for a place to sell. The used car dealers will put the car in their shop for months telling them that no buyer o and will be using the car in the meantime adding 6 litres all the time thus ruining the nozzles. Then after 3 months of waiting, the owner because he has been made carless, decides to sell the car and get his money instantly. Cars45 will evaluate and pay the seller instantly and will advertise the same car without repairing the defects, documenting all the pros and cons. Their strong online presence made afangsoup(now 4 days old soup) to leave his base to buy from their yard. That is the state of naija used cars and that is why we should make everyone follow the owner's manual for proper maintenance because our friends or relations might buy these crappy cars as their first car.

With your latest
response to afansgroup story, it's now that I know you people no well at.

You no well at all at all.

They took a car to mechanic who told them gear was gone and engine faulty and they sold the car just like that to someone who came from Akwa-Ibom not minding at where he may get stranded.

Car 45 is not just a scam company, it is one without conscience.

It's not just that they scam people, scam is their business model for reaping super profits from their auto-sales outfit.

These guys need to be shut down
Ask afangsoup if the mechanic claimed it was cars45 that brought the car to him or the previous owner? In Cotonou, which one of you is given the car that he wants to buy to take it out and test drive?

I am struggling to understand your question because the report you are talking about, it is only the lady that has seen it. Even the car is no longer hers, someone else has bought it. So where is the exhibit and why has the new buyer not commented once to support her story? If you have seen the report, show us then we will see and adjust our position.

You're def a fool...

Firstly, they sold me a car without custom paper... I asked for custom papers before making payment but they said papers will be brought out after I pay...

After payment, story changed... they didn't know it didn't have papers... pay extra 60k for the papers...

Engine is almost dead...

Gear is almost dead...

And so on...

So you in your shallow mind believe cars45 wrote these things on their report for me and I bought the car?

Someone should help me out here, I met this dude online and he showed me a car Toyota Camry 2000 and that the car is going for 300k. Just that the only problem is the AC. That it needs to be refilled.

Some questions I need answered by my professionals here

1)How much does a AC Camry cost
2)is there any possibility that I am going to be scammed. Because the dude sounded so genuine

The car is in Ogun State meanwhile I told him I was at Lagos. (Am abt Edo)He even insisted I come for inspection. I no wan waste money and time
Re: How Cars 45 Ripped Us Off by chibjohn(m): 1:31am On Mar 19, 2018
I will advice that you should be very careful. Don't believe that talk that the AC gas needs to be refilled. AC system is a closed one. Gas does not leak out unless there is a leakage somewhere in the piping system. Even if you refill it without fixing the piping leakage it will still leak out. Troubleshooting the exact leakage point is always tedious for old cars like that.
Also, its almost impossible to get a sound camry 2000 for 300k. So while going for inspection be very careful and vigilant. They may be after harvesting your head and not selling the car to you.
Don't send money to anybody till you physically inspect the car. I advice that if you are interested in going to inspect the car, make sure that happens in an open place and do your due diligence. Almost all car sellers are liars. Only believe what you see on the car and not what he/she tells you.

We are talking about cars45 making full disclosure on the state of the cars they sell and you are rambling about Nigeria car maintenance culture. We all know that most Nigerians dont maintain their cars well. If cars45 wants to exist for long, it had better start saying the truth on state of the cars that it sells. I dont blame you cars45 dealers though. I blame people that visit those 2 yards of yours and agree to buy those crappy cars of yours after seeing their state because you just wrote a whitewashed report about them.

Listen to youself, we all know that most Nigerians dont maintain their cars well. That is the truth. And so these cars are bought by cars45. They never claimed to have fixed the problem. They state the problems and the good part too. So that you are well informed before buying. They even tell the buyer to bring his mechanic. Mind you buying a naija used car does not mean you wont spend money to rectify the faults stated in the report, even tokunbo cars still need money to fix some issues like changing the oil but these buyers have admitted that they never read the report before paying for the car. That whitewashed report, no buyer has disputed it wasn't true. Like the guy from Akwa ibom that bought a car and never read the report and even proceeded to travel back without changing even the oil of the car. I know when people are traveling to their village, they put their cars in order so as to avoid embarassment on the way but someone bought a car that he did not read the report and proceeded to travel that same day with the car without even changing any fluid. That is cars45 fault abi?

If you are bold enough, share the car's internal code that was clearly stated on the documents and I would share your vehicle's report for all to see.
