Poland vs Super Eagles World Cup warm-up sold out Poland and Nigeria will do battle Friday night in front of a sold-out stadium in Wroclaw, SCORENigeria has exclusively been informed. “The 42,000 tickets for this game have been sold out, the company responsible for this has announced,” top Polish journalist Piotr Kozminski informed SCORENigeria “There is high expectation around the team leading to the World Cup in Russia and it will be a major disappointment if they do not go past a first round group that also has Colombia, Senegal and Japan. “The Polish FA boss, Zbigniew Boniek, a famous player in his playing days, said he expects Poland not to lose their opening game against Senegal and for Colombia and Poland go through.” Poland will use Nigeria to test their readiness to battle in midfield against the robust-playing Senegalese. And four days later, they will take on another World Cup qualifier South Korea so as to prepare for their group game against Japan. WC Opponents Watch Croatia Coach Picks XI For World Cup Clash Vs Nigeria, To Monitor Eagles Friendlies By Adeboye Amosu Croatia head coach Zlatko Dalic says he already has in mind the starting 11 for his side’s 2018 FIFA World Cup opening Group D clash against the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Completesportsnigeria.com reports. The Croats who have lost their last three opening fixtures at the World Cup will face the three-time African champions on June 16 at the Kaliningrad Stadium. They will look to put an end to the poor run when they come up against Gernot Rohr, and Dalic admitted he already has the men who will do the job. “I have the first eleven that will face Nigeria in Kaliningrad but of course I will not disclose it to the media because the whole structure still depends on form and injury,” Dalic told Croatia online news outlet Sportske jutarnji.hr. “It is better to know three months before the start of the World Cup and not close to the game.” Nigeria as well as Iceland and two-time world champions Argentina, who are the two other teams in the group, will be involved in friendlies in the upcoming international window. Dalic confirmed he will send scouts to watch Nigeria in their friendly games against Poland and Serbia this Friday and next week Tuesday. “Ivica Olic will be in the United States of America to monitor Iceland who plays Peru and Mexico. Nikola Jerkan will follow Argentina in the games against Italy and Spain, while Ognjen Vukojevic will watch Nigeria against Poland and Serbia.” Source: https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/croatia-coach-picks-xi-for-world-cup-clash-vs-nigeria-to-monitor-eagles-friendlies/ Russia 2018 WC Countdown: 86 days 14 hours 37 mins to go 1 Like |

The Super Eagle who will hold the trophy aloft: John Obi Mikel Goal profile the Nigeria captain, and the player primed to lift the World Cup on July 15 should the West Africans achieve the unthinkable John Obi Mikel has experienced highs and lows during his Nigeria career, but could be primed to scale new heights as the figurehead of this talented Super Eagles squad when they head to the World Cup in Russia this year. Certainly, Gernot Rohr’s side will be targeting a national best for the African nation—a spot in the quarter-finals—while the talent running through his squad will surely make fans dream of Nigeria going even further this summer. Should they go all the way—breaking new ground for the continent’s sides, and indeed any nation not from Europe or South America—Mikel will surely have to play a key role, and would be rewarded for his service to the country with the privilege of holding the trophy aloft in Moscow on July 15. It wouldn’t be the first time that the Tianjin TEDA man has won international silverware with Nigeria. He was, of course, a key figure in the Eagles side that conquered the continent and ended a 19-year wait for African gold with victory at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa. Stephen Keshi had cultivated an exciting side, but they only truly came together at the tournament, with Mikel, then of Chelsea, playing a key role in midfield as the team’s metronome. By the time the final against Burkina Faso had rolled around, Mikel’s relationship with Ogenyi Onazi was excellent, with the latter offering the energy and the legs and the former contributing poise and precision with his passing. It’s a double act that Rohr will call upon again in Russia, where the tenacious Onazi and the efficient Wilfried Ndidi will provide the fuel for Mikel to play the kind of passes that will be counted upon to prise open some of the world’s sturdiest backlines. He may be 30 these days, and his peak years at Chelsea are stretching further into the past, but Mikel still boasts immense creativity, and offers the kind of technical prowess to retain possession effectively and split defences with a delightfully weighted through ball. Just ask the Tianjin Quanjian defence, as they were beaten 3-2 by rivals Tianjin TEDA on Sunday, with Mikel contributing two assists for the hosts. It was the kind of performance that will doubtless prompt optimism in Nigerian quarters that the Eagles will hold their own against some of the tricky midfields they’re set to come up against in Russia. Of course, while the 2013 Nations Cup and the 2016 Olympics—where Mikel guided Nigeria to bronze—were international career highlights, things haven’t always been easy for the playmaker in the green of the Super Eagles. As well as failure to reach either the 2015 or the 2017 Nations Cups, the former FK Lyn man has also endured some World Cup hardship, and therefore has to make up for lost time on the grandest stage of all. In 2010, at the cumulation of Mikel’s first Premier League-winning campaign, he appeared primed to play a key role for Nigeria at the World Cup—the first to be hosted in Africa. Unfortunately, he was ruled out of the tournament due to injury, with some reports suggesting that it was a knee injury—and others an ankle problem—that had cost him the chance to make his bow at the Mundial. He made amends—to an extent—at the 2014 event when he starred in Nigeria’s opener against Iran en route to the Eagles making the Last 16. However, there’s still a sense that Mikel has unfinished business at the World Cup, and with the tournament in Russia likely to be his last opportunity to make an impact, he’ll be targeting a record-breaking showing with Nigeria. Could the Super Eagles skipper be the man to hold the World Cup trophy aloft when the final rolls around on July 15th? There is a website I normally visit to watch live matches even though they are a betsite. You only need your username and password to login and watch any match of your choice. No need downloading anything. 1xbet.com. It will also save your data. I watched Nigeria Argentina on it. MetalJigsaw: Another is kwese TV, I believe they should show it. 2 Likes |

TheSuperNerd:these Croatians seem to be prioritizing Nigeria over Argentina and Iceland. Judging by the way they keep studying us and the bold statements they make, I'm beginning to see them as a more serious team(I'm afraid) and also putting them in the same bracket with Brazil, Spain and Germany which are my dreaded teams. 2 Likes |

Benching Busquet once a while wouldnhave been possible if Barcelona has got a capable replacement. The guy also needs rest. Dembele and coutinho has been seeing games even though they met others there. The coach has at least managed to give players playing time. If we are talking about Ndidi getting to becoming the best on time, Barcelona is one of the major clubs he should go to. Learning there is quick and top notch. Icon79: |
