gbosaa:God bless you as you've said it the way you should... I wonder why some people are struggling to get my point. Learning to play without Mikel: Yes, good idea Testing potential replacements for Mikel in the present crop of players where there's not even anyone close: No, bad idea Rohr should also be more focused on building more cohesion and understanding in his squad going to the World Cup. That's my fvcking point! |

edi287: Not true, the right statement should be, The whole team ain't compatible without Mikel, the whole team flopped in that match. if I may ask how many matches have you seen Ndidi partner Onazi without Mikel, you don't come to a conclusion like that. 2 Likes |

Learning to cope without Mikel: yes... that's not what I'm arguing against Searching for a capable replacement for Mikel in the present crop of players when the coach should be working on teamwork, understanding and cohesion in the world cup. with the best personnel: No Got it?? |

You can't do that in the UK, the citizens decide not the "top guys". They citizens know how to deal with whoever is the "top guys" trying to undermine them. They don't run a military system of Government. To pull out, they must debate it and we know the masses in UK don't joke with football + a bit of adventure. So it won't work. Apart from world war 1 and 2, I don't remember FIFA stopping a world cup tournament from taking place because of one disgruntled country. daveP: 1 Like |

Martz101:I've seen enough to determine that both can't dictate play from deep. Both are the same type of player - press aggressively to win the ball. Ndidi's best games have come when Onazi isn't playing. Ndidi at Leicester plays alongside an Iborra or Drinkwater both whom are dlp why Ndidi buzzes around and breaks up play. Both Ndidi and Onazi buzz around to break up play. It's no coincidence that Ndidi's best games have been without playing next to Onazi. |

Kog45:If we're being realistic, that combo has only truly worked for us against Cameroon first leg. It was spectacular second leg or against Zambia. I understand why Rohr uses it because it leaves Mikel with less to do defensively but if Mikel isn't around, we should be trying something else. |

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has played down the chances of Nigeria qualifying for the knockout rounds of the 2018 World Cup, saying that the national team were in Pot 4 during the draw for the mundial. The German also pointed out that the Super Eagles are the lowest ranked country in Group D, with Argentina, Croatia and Iceland ahead of them in the latest Fifa rankings. ''We have a difficult group with Argentina, Croatia, and Iceland, to which we came from the fourth basket,'' Rohr said to Przegląd Sportowy. ''This shows that we are considered to be the weakest team in the group. Leaving the group will be a miracle. You can not expect the 52nd team in the FIFA ranking to win against the top teams.'' Rohr agreed that Nigeria have better players than Iceland but stated that it would be difficult to beat Argentina and Croatia. ''To get out of the group, you need to overtake not just one team. ''In November, we defeated Argentina in a friendly and everyone in the country fell into euphoria. ''But you have to remember that the opponents played without Messi. And it's like beating Poland without Lewandowski. ''On the other hand, we have the youngest team at the World Cup and with this youth you can do a lot. The outsiders role suits us,'' added the former Bayern Munich defender. Igho Kingsley SOURCE: www.allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=27026 1 Like |
