Hi, pls which hospital and doctor did you use? Also do they accept non residents without insurance ? Pls help , I have been searching for doctors that accept patients without insurance. We also need to get accommodation as well, but we want to get a doctor first, as the doctors location will determine where we'll get the apartment dazzing: |

[Hello dazzing, congrats on the safe delivery of your little one. Pls can you help me with the doctor's contact? Do you know if they accept international patients without insurance? Because i called dr Kayode and i was told he no longer accepts patients without insurance and i have npt been able to get any doctor that will accept patients with no insurance . Patiently awaiting your response. God bless you and kisses to your little one. quote author=dazzing post=64917505]Dear forum contributors, thank you for sharing all your experiences. I have been a silent follower of this thread since July 2017, and I benefited greatly from the forum. I would like to share my own experience so others can benefit and particularly shed some light on areas that may not have been adequately covered in the forum. First thing is that I read the entire forum discussion from page one until the fifties. I got my visa some years back, I was given till the end of my passport. I have been to Canada before, therefore when I went for birthing it wasn’t my first time in the country. I had an interesting experience as the hospital I registered and went for ANC is not the same hospital I delivered at, as my labour came unexpected in late night. There was a mild snow storm (December weather so expected) so we couldn’t drive to far to my original hospital, I went to the hospital closest to me which was the famous Brampton civic hospital. My original plan was Stevenson memorial in Alliston. TIP 1: register in a hospital close to your house as anything can happen. I rang the doctors whose details was shared on this forum and true to what has been mentioned, both Dr Grace and Dr Abou, said they do not take non-OHIP patients anymore. Dr Kayode still does, but I didn’t use him. I also rang the Amma mid-wives services and their fees is CAD 4600. This excludes the hospital fees if you do decide to have a hospital delivery, also I opted not to use them. Below is break down of my expenses: Epidura – CAD 500 Doctor fees – CAD 2,350 (this is a combo of the doctor fees who did my check ups and the delivery fees on the day) Hospital fees – Brampton 2600 (i.e. 200 registration, 400 baby, 2000 my hospital day fee) Stevenson 500 (registration fees for non-resident) Baby check-up CAD 300 – (i.e. 50 for baby doctor fees after delivery, 200 full baby check-up at mother and child clinic, 50 for walk in centre baby check-up a few days after) Total for the above medical is 6250 Other expenses include several uber trips. I was with a relative so my costs on that was covered I also had a friend who gave me some free ride when opportune, but we did have a CAD 450 bill for uber hospital visit just as an illustration of that particular expense. Lifelab – CAD 107, tests for myself TIP: Please do not do any ‘out of your way’ tests in Nigeria, cause it’s so expensive as rubella alone labs in Abuja were telling me between 35 and 45,000 naira. Documents Long and short certificate – CAD 35 & 25 respectively Intl Canada passport – CAD 107 (hubby did go to Abuja consulate to sign a form) Nigeria ETC – CAD 137 (includes my express post and return envelope cost). I got good service with them; I rang a few times to tell them it was real urgent as I applied for all my documents two weeks before my departure date. It took them two days to process and post back. TIP 2: Clarification on applying long and short certificate on line. I wish someone had told me that on the website I should just go ahead and fill out the form and pay the fees as there is no option for payment for expedited service for a new-born. I almost made an error and wasted money, but thankfully that was averted. Pretty much what every other person has shared is the standard process for birthing in Brampton. I’ll say additional CAD 1000 for other expenses including documentation. It could be more for others, please note I stayed at a relative (so no cost for rent, feeding and Wi-Fi) and I had my phone line, so cost of that CAD 35 x four months (internet on this package was weak so you may have to get a more expensive option if you need solid internet for when you outside). Canada phone set cost CAD 80. TIP 3: a phone line makes your ‘ubering’ experience easier. Sorry this post is getting too long, I just wanted to put in as much as I could. I spent almost four months, and I just returned this early February. Also baby won’t get health card, expect resident in country for over 150 days. Best of Luck to other expectant mothers. [/quote] |

In addition, we just sent an additional bill from civic hospital. for 200 CAD for the infant care. we called them and they said the person who charged us made a mistake. so its suppose to be 600 for baby, then a separate 200 for registration. thats my own latest update. Geeagu: 1 Like |

Hi guys. Pls assist here. I currently manage my mums travel agency (no employment letter or anything). I am also a lawyer by profession tho on my own (business just registered this week). I intend to use d latter to apply for express entry. Process already in the works for this. But for the purpose of a trv, what do I say that I do and what supporting documents would i attach? If i use d agncy, since its mums business i dont have d usual employment contract, payslips etc. Also it will negate my plans to say i am a lawyer when eventually applying for express entry. At the same time if i use d lawyer with my newly registered business name wont it be as tho d business was registered simply for trv purposes? Also huby wants to send me 10k usd as pof. Will this be enough if i already have accommodation in canada? How do i package this money such that it doesnt look like a sudden lodgement prior to one's visa application? Should he send it to my dorm acct which hsnt bn active in forever or shld he send to me in naira into my personal account which is more active? Should we use it to get tbills as it appears thats wot most EE applicants do for POF, or he should just leave it in his account and i use hs account statement? Also will this money be enough for POF? |

Re: Giving Birth In Canada by dazzing: 12:23pm On Mar 20, 2018 |
dear funkymum. I am just hearing that Dr Kayode does not take non-OHIP again. Can you double check, maybe ask hotstepper cause this is news to me. if this is the case, then go to a walk-in clinic and they will direct you to a doctor that accepts non-OHIP patients. If this does not yeild results then I may need to call someone outside this forum for advise. Funkymom: 1 Like 1 Share |
Re: Giving Birth In Canada by dazzing: 12:25pm On Mar 20, 2018 |
dear superdoll. PR application automatically disqualifies you for temp visa. so get visa first before PR application or gamble it and born in Nigeria, then do PR then apply for your child if you get it. superdoll: |
Re: Giving Birth In Canada by Damysa(f): 1:51pm On Mar 20, 2018 |
Is your husband also part of your application? if so, he can leave the money in his account and you guys can submit both yours and his POF together. Eilenora: |

Re: Giving Birth In Canada by Damysa(f): 3:47pm On Mar 20, 2018 |
Which one is home tie Does express entry require home tie?? or is there something I dont know As far as I know, the most qualified person is to apply, one application covers the whole family. Eilenora: |

Re: Giving Birth In Canada by Eilenora: 4:05pm On Mar 20, 2018 |
So u guys hav advised that I defer my EE application til i get my visitin visa. So am saying il apply 1st and when mine comes out hubby will then apply. Du get? Cos av read through the thread and seen that people that apply together with hubby lack sufficient proof for home tie. Proof of funds will also be higher so better 1 after the other. I also noticed that most ppl advise 5m pof and above. 10k Usd is just about 3.7. Can this work? Remember I have accommodation already. Does anyone know any hospitals in London Ontarìo area? Havent seen any referrals in that area all through the pages. I am currently checking the ratemds website as previously mentioned though. Hopefully i am able to find something. Ds Canada ordeal is more stresful than yankee sha which is where I had my 1st. But am tilting more towards Canada now cos of the accommodation i have there which I dont have in yankee Damysa: 1 Like 1 Share |
