Boko Haram Returns Kidnapped School Girls In Dapchi, Five Dead

http://saharareporters.com/2018/03/21/boko-haram-returns-kidnapped-school-girls-dapchi-five-dead

Let me ask a question.

Cc nemesis4u

Bokoharam returns the girls etc. Can't we deploy ISR platforms to trail them back to their location? There has been instance were bokoharam top leaders were released and pick up by BHT.

The only answer I have is that we do not have UAV that can fly in a silent manner except the CH3. altitude will also be an issue for the CH3 hence why I have been saying buy CH5 or wingloon.

Ok let me give this a go.

TTPs refer to technique, tactics and procedures.

In the hunter/killer world of counterinsurgency, this refers to the 3 Fs.

Find, Fix, some say Flank and Kill cycle.

So how is NA really performing Vis a viv these concepts.

NAF has invested in Chinese and indigenous drones to improve ISR which improves our ability to FIND. The US has donated our piloted ISR platforms we need to buy more at least 12 planes.

FIX: might refer to the precision targeting process.

Closing or flanking is NA's Achilles heel.
Our well trained/foreign trained special forces need the appropriate chariots to close in and take out the just spotted enemy.
Here, hilux trucks is not always survivable .

That's why reva mraps were used by 72 MSF to horizontally envelop the battle space. Accounting for the rough ambush and IED prone terrain.
We also need mi-17 helicopters to ferry troops vertically to their target.

Kill: neutralize with extreme prejudice .
US donated what? when?

Most times concessions are made in the form of ;
1) staying of the tempo of operations
2) cash
3) prisoner exchange

Now what bites me is how we can't track this people after their dropoff to wherever they hide. Perhaps they are quite mobile, viruses tend to adapt

Exactly. Heard they came into the town to drop the girls. So no federal troops in such community?

Fighting bokoharam still has a long way to go if we can police affected communities effectively.

Depends

1. Targets ability to hoodwink the observers/trackers or conversely the observers capability to keep tabs on the targets.

2. Patience / persistence of both hardware and manpower to slug it out with the delay and decoy tactics employed by the targets.

3. Availablity of target identification and discrimination capability via technical assets or HUMINT resources

4. Availablity of concurrent resources / assets to ensure fool proof tracking.

Etc
Etc

Note:Having UAV or ISR platforms is not enough, what matters is their onboard sensors, ie capability for detection identification and discrimination of human target or targets at stand off distance .

Detection of human targets is not a problem but identification and discrimination of human targets at stand off distance in my opinion is a tough ask.

However it can be done via HUMINT assets in support of UAV or ISR platforms.

Where do BHT want to hide with quite numbers of adopted school girls and unaccounted captured civilians.

Now the question his do we really think the military do not know where does girls are......?

Capital NO, they know team exact location. But there are some inderances or obstacle preventing them from carrying out a rescue mission.

Apart from the just freed 105 Dapachi school girls few hours ago, there are more innocent civilians Bokoharam are using has Shields with heavily fortified perimeter.

Secondly; conducting a rescue mission may proof very destructive for the image of the military if captured civilian used has shield dies during such mission. Don't let us forget the Amnesty international is always watching.

They are not helping matters at all. They are only good at destroying the image of the military. for me I see them has a watch dog for the western and European Lords.

We have drones that can track Bokoharam movement but there are more dialogue and less war-fare that is more productive in such issue.

On the BH camp used in camping innocent civilians his known to the military; the issue can be described; just like grain in the bottle and a chicken trying to pick them up, there is nothing the chicken can do unless if it breaks the bottle.

The consequences would be catastrophic .

NIGERIAN AIR FORCE COMMISSIONS WELFARE-RELATED FACILITIES AT NAF BASES IN ILORIN, ABUJA

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), yesterday, 20 March 2018, commissioned a Joint Airmen/Airwomen’s Mess and a 6 x one bedroom residential accommodation for airmen/airwomen serving at 303 Medium Airlift Group (MAG), NAF Base Ilorin, Kwara State. Other facilities commissioned during the ceremony include a 500 KVA transformer as well as 2 boreholes, each with 300,000 and 55,000 litres surface tanks, in addition to overhead tanks. The facilities were provided to further cater for the welfare needs of NAF personnel who operate and maintain the various platforms employed for medium airlift in support of ongoing operations in different parts of the country. It is also part of a deliberate effort aimed at bringing the personnel of the Unit, who were residing in different locations within the city, together for enhanced operational efficiency and optimized service delivery for the benefit of the nation.

While speaking during the commissioning ceremony, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, who was represented by the Chief of Administration (COA) at Headquarters NAF, Air Vice Marshal Ibrahim Yahaya, reiterated that the NAF leadership would not relent in its efforts at ensuring better living conditions for personnel and their families. Air Marshal Abubakar also said that the critical role being played by 303 MAG towards ensuring national peace and security cannot be overemphasised, as timely logistics resupply is central to the success of military operations. Additionally, the CAS disclosed that the NAF had recently posted more personnel to the Unit to enable it contribute more to Internal Security operations in Kwara State and its environs. He therefore appealed to Kwara State citizens to continually give the NAF the needed cooperation to succeed in safeguarding the nation.

Meanwhile, the Kwara State Governor, Alhaji (Dr) Abdulfatah Ahmed, who was represented at the occasion by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Transport, Alhaji Yusuf Manjo, acknowledged that the presence of NAF in Ilorin had given a boost to the security of Kwara State. He therefore gave the assurance that the State Government would not relent in providing the NAF and other security agencies in the State with adequate support to aid the discharge of their duties. Governor Abdulfatah also expressed delight at the rate of infrastructural development at the NAF Base in Ilorin, noting that the visionary leadership being demonstrated by the CAS, Air Marshal Abubakar, was indeed worthy of emulation. In his welcome address, the Commander 303 MAG, Group Captain Patrick Obeya, expressed profound appreciation to the NAF leadership for the provision of the new infrastructure and facilities in the Unit, noting that the gesture would go a long way to boost the morale of the personnel and spur them to strive harder in the discharge of their duties.

In a related development, a Joint Airmen/Airwomen’s Mess was also commissioned for Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) serving in Abuja in a bid to boost comradeship and regimentation among personnel. While speaking during the commissioning, the COA who represented the CAS at the occasion, urged the NCOs to make optimal use of the facility and also maintain it in line with the standards for which the NAF is renowned. It is worthy of note that in the past 3 years, the NAF has tried to address the gaps in accommodation in all NAF units.

Insurgency is an organized revolt against a government or foreign occupation force. It is a mass movement arising from the civilian or Indigenous populations as a whole. Although insurgencies involve the organization of combat forces (usually guerrillas), these forces would be quickly isolated & destroyed without support from the population.

This video cant be true...
The girls were dropped off around 3am. Well, thats what the government said. And it is plausible. Given that the news broke out today as early as 7am.

Who release this video ? Is it the media or BHT ?
Because the govt was so clinical about the OPs. No media house was granted entry to area even hours after BHT dropped off the girls and left.

Anyway, in stories like this, there are always 3 sides. The government side, the Terrorists side and the real side of the story.

Not in that context bro.

The video was released earlier on today as a rejoinder to the story of the Dapchi girls drop off.

The video as released by Sahara reporters claimed that locals wave and hail BHT on their way out of Dapchi after dropping off the girls.

This claim is not true. And to this extent of untruthfulness, the video is false! Another failed propaganda.

The video clearly shows the locals waving to the group.

Very simple sir.

Look at BHT signature all over again sir. From the Buni Yadi massacre, to Chibok girls and now Dapchi kidnap... The kidnap and release were all done under the cover of night.

Today, the drop off news came out as early as 7am. Around 9am govt confirmed it. Saying the drop off was done around 3am.
This is very plausible sir.

The video is shot during daylight. 3am is not daylight. Not here in Africa, not anywhere in the world.

Now, the BHT came to kidnap the girls, shooting in the air causing terror and panic.
The following weeks, they drop the same girls off and then the terrorized and despairing people came out to wave them... Like seriously ?

How did the people know that BHT is dropping off the girls because the waving crowd seem well mobilized, informed and well organized ?
Some were even waving BHT flag like though BHT is a Political Party.

And lastly, if BHT were this loose in OPs like this, they would have been ended long time ago.

The purpose of BHT, just like every other terrorist organization, is not to win the people's affection, sympathy or respect.
Their purpose is to terrorize and make the people live in fear.

I dont know where or how this video came about, but I can bet my balls that this aint Dapchi scenario !
