So according to OGN... Joel Obi will start ahead of Onazi..

So we will have a midfield combo of Obi and Ndidi.

seems joel impressed in training if this is true

somehow:
Whatever happens today, remember that this is a friendly match.

I expect at least 2 goals.

A PK might show up against us.

Apart from Mikel, the 1st 11 shouldn't have issues showing us what to expect in Russia come June.

I am very certain we will either win or come out tonight with a draw (bookmark this and quote me after the game).

Our wins against Argentina, Zambia, Algeria and Cameroun are no flukes. It is true that we have not played an European team (until tonight) which would proffer us the opportunity to gauge our tactical strength as European teams emphasize on technicality.
Albiet I have faith in the team and from what many have observed we no longer play our traditional style of football. We are technical. We play to our strength. We actually play European football now and we have fund a way to mix it with our traditional attacking threat and rawness.

We are at par at the moment with what technical capabilities many European teams may have to offer in the game and I can guarantee that in technique, we will cancel out most European teams. Our edge over them will be our raw attack (all things being equal).

Like I said, bookmark this and quote me after the Poland and Serbia games. We will do well in all five. (Poland, Serbia, England, Croatia and Iceland).

However with South American teams I admit it may be a different story grin grin grin

John Fashanu never rejected to play for Nigeria rather the coach rejected him. He was even on the bench in one of our friendly and it was after the match he decided to play for England because the coach didn’t like him

“I actually wanted to play for Nigeria and I came home thrice but the coach felt I was not good enough for his team. He only selected me for a friendly match against China but I was an unused substitute,” Fashanu said.

Dele Alli had his primary education in Nigeria.
Sir,pls can you tell me a coach that rejected John Fashanu

The same Fashanu was called by Manfred Hoener prior to Maroc 88 and opted for England.

Sir did Nigeria ever played China in the 80s cos i cannot remember such match, hope you can remember

Oh Dele Ali had his primary education in Nigeria does not make him a Nigerian.

SEAL was born in Nigeria and even had his education in Nigeria and he was more a British than those born in UK or what of Sade Adu that was born in ancient city of Ibadan.

John Mastroudes was a Greek man but at home in Nigeria and speak Yoruba language fluently and always see himself as a Nigerian than his country Greece.

Hell yeah

Mikel is the captain but is no where near the x factor

Maybe Onyekuru Moses Iheanacho and Iwobi but certainly not Mikel

There are many X factor players ahead of Onyekuru and John Mikel Obi is the head of them all. Maybe Moses is equally on the same page with Mikel.

Onyekuru is a very selfish. This season no single assist. Look up for the stats.

Not a surprise. Henry is an alpha in Belgium, he plays with total freedom. In Nigerian colors he beats one and passes, rarely tries to beat two.

You can compare him to:
Neymar a Player Under Pressure (PUP) in Barcelona, an alpha in PSG
Sanchez an alpha in Arsenal, a PUP in Manchester United.

So when Henry returns to Everton, he will feel the pressure and tone down showboating.

I never said Henry is the X factor, rather I said he has something which is currently not present in the team.

And I'm not musing over his absence from the team because that is obviously for to injury, but I'm concerned over the little opportunities given to him compared to others. It might just be his style of play doesn't interest Rohr.

But why would Ekong be the Captain when there's Balogun and Victor moses on the line up? i hope it won't be an issue cos it's quite strange, even thought it's only a friendly.

Good line up, if it pans out. I would've liked to see Ebuehi start ahead of Shehu, but for the injury.

It looks like Alex Iwobi is going to play the so called Mikel's role, just as some of us (spell: icon4s and icon79) suggested.

If Ekong is captain it all means that Onazi is going to start on the bench ... not to worry, guys, you're in good hands with Joel Obi.

Not surprised because, against Algeria, the armband was a little too heavy for Balogun. This has nothing to do with Leon .... some players, such as Harry Kane, just get weighed down by that responsibility.

That is not true. Onyekuru never scored hand full of goals in the CF position. In short, his coach emphatically said Onyekuru can't play as a striker.

Onyekuru is not a striker.

The first snapshot is the stats for Eupen and there is nothing like hand full goals. How many times did he play as striker there? How many 'hand full' goals did he score?

In Anderlecht, he failed woefully as a striker.

Let him fight for the LW slot with Iwobi, Musa and Simon.

Oga relying on a that graphic or picture don't hold water, yes he mostly play from the flank but also play upfront too

Sir possibly Rohr want to build up Ekong confidence against Lewandowski, remember the guy is not new to Balogun.

I think i love that decision.

Leon was rusty from not playing for his club. It had nothing to do with the armband.

It's funny you'd say that because on last few occasions Joel Obi had played for the Super Eagles, he played in a double pivot with Mikel. And based on my personal assessment and in the assessment of those who know better than I do (and I am talking about the legends of the game, such as Mathematical Segun Odegbami), Joel outshined Mikel each time. This isn't to say that Mikel didn't play well in those games, but it tells you how good Joel Chukwuma Obi can be when he's at his best.

But is he gonna outshine Mikel on current form, I doubt it. Why ... because injuries have affected his speed and impacted his game in other ways, but he's still a quality player.

O pari

we dont need any oushiner, all we need is 2 of them to compliment each other... every player is different and each bring different quality to the team
