Joebie:
Better second half

Moses: selfish but special.
Iheanacho: ok performance
Uzoho: "Nigeria has found a giant in this young man"
Musa: should have got a goal off Onazi's clever pass
Onazi: better than J. Obi going forward ESP
J. Obi: showed his destroyer side
Shehu: past this test
Ebuehi: looks set for Russia
Ekong & Balogun: don't touch that pair
Ekong: my MOTM
Idowu. Not excellent, but soaked the pressure. Better than Echiejile still.
Iwobi: showed his Arsenal side
Ndidi: hard worker always. Untouchable

Who am I missing?

Poland is actually very good. Today was a bad day for them. Either of two teams could easily have won it by 2-1. Nigeria just didn’t give up. They chased every ball and didn’t show signs of fatigue till the final whistle.

This match should not be used to judge either of the two sides.

when an African power house plays against any top ranking European opponent forget the FIFA ranking status. Cameroon did it, Senegal did it, Ghana at some point proved it, and Nigeria keeps on doing such. forget the ranking if you are a good footballing nation you can beat any team. not forgetting Costa Rica at the last world cup, a team from no where proving a point and didn't loose a match in 90 mins. until they met the Dutch side. Give it to them also for standing against high ranking sides like Italy, Uruguay and England

I had said uzoho needed a full game. Exactly what happened. This is to give him big time exposure and help build his confidence. Still work in progress. But he brought that Argentina performance in the second half

He wore that Captain's Armband with grace and dedication. He stepped up in a leadership position and took charge.

I'm glad we have him with us and he isn't out there in Netherlands, collecting goals from the Queen's boys

he single handedly cement Uzoho spot in the team

he performed well

I won't rate Joel yet, he deserves another Shot! We know he's a talented Lad, and gonna be a great Addition to the Team.

I hope to see him play along with Mikel in the next Game.

We played against a partisan home support.. Poland is a solid team.

Decent result and confidence boosting win. Was far from what I wanted performance wise but I liked how we were resolute to be honest we were a bit lucky during some passages of play but overall we stood strong. Lots of room for improvement but this is a positive first step shoutouts to francis, wilfred, shehu, ekong and v. Moses

Poland was a great test. They played their all and were very physical. Beating them in front a packed stadium of their home fans is a big big deal. Unlucky day for them though

I will rather prefer Ebuehi and Aina to replace Shehu and Idowu in the 2nd Half respectively! Idowu offered nothing positive attacking-wise, defensively he's also a suspect in the Match.

After Ebuehi came in, I realised Shehu and Brian-Idowu played to instruction.

joel obi is not near to be a replacement to mikel, he played rubbish today couldnt hold the ball or manage to keep it on the ground, the guy na big flop joor.

mosses has a mental issue, too selfish, doesnt pass and when he manages to cross na empty space this is unprofessional.

Who else noticed that we are good at soaking pressure? Who else noticed that when Ogu came in our midfield became stable? Who else noticed that Uzoho grew in confidence? He needs more games
Yeah, we have improved so damn good in soaking pressure. If that's the only positive from Rohrs, I'll call it a big big improvement. cos SE of the past times used to fall under pressure like a pack of cards.

J.Obi played as a DM today. I thought we didn't miss Onazi the destroyer. It seemed they both played to instructions as Joel rarely ventured forward.
I will score Joel a B on his return game.

Another lesson learned

A three man midfield is the way forward, especially against very good teams. Toady we lost the midfield battle despite the valiant effort of Ndidi and Joel. We were simply outnumbered in that part of the pitch. Throw in Mikel in place of either Iheanacho or Ighalo and the table would turn. We can't afford to cede possession like we did today in the mundial and have opponents create chance after chance.
I felt the lack of creativity from the centre. I quite agree with you.... But Joel's style of play will make a big difference against teams that like possession.

Same with the Poles. Nigeria should have wrapped up the game with more goals. Last 10 mins of the match, many times Nigeria went on the counter but couldn’t utilise the opportunities.
Musa couldn’t read Onazi well in the chance that he should’ve slotted at the back of the net.

I won't say very solid, but he did improve. If we meet a team that have a knack for scoring early goals, it might just affect team morale. Overall, glad that he improved. Wondering the kind yeye Ezenwa for Don play by now.
