That boy owns that position. Shehu (sorry to say) looks slow. Not good enough for this level

To be honest ebuehi shld cement that position going to the world cup, shehu is good against african opponent.

Perspective: Poland was at home. We practically played and defeated a Lewandowski-led Polish side in front of a 42,000 polish crowd.

Not a small deal!

Sometimes we miss that.. It is easy to look ugly playing away from home especially without our talisman.

The result is a big deal..

i think Moses needs a partner in crime that understands him in the team, like the Emenike-Ideye pair.

I noticed that after he dribbled, no one came out to receive him pass, no one. I have a problem though, he is selfish. and we don't need this at the mundial where we would be punished for that.

good angle, our defenders have improved in their comfy kinda passing and accuracy.

Balogun is low on confidence, he would have made mistakes if he was at CB. He did well at LB though.

Sorry bro, if I may understand you correctly, did balogun play as a left back in the match?

So far so good for Uzoho, 1.5 games against two solid opposition and he is yet to concede.

Commendable for a teenager. Games in the La Liga would do a great deal to his confidence and skills though

Think we should play with a midfield 3 against Serbia. I like what Rohr did when he brought Ogu on and pushed Onazi to a more advanced role. We can play Joel Obi in an advanced role with Ndidi and Onazi behind or Ogu - Ndidi with Joel Obi in front.

We really missed Mikel obi, dere was no balance in d midfield. Iheanacho can't play in dat position. Wished mikel played, dey could have make some couple of good passes from midfield to attack. Dey really did not play badly. It was just few times in training together after some months of playing together, believe dey will gel more & more when dey camp for world cup

Super Eagles Player Ratings Vs Poland : Victor Moses, Uzoho, Balogun, Ekong The Standouts
Published: March 23, 2018
A penalty goal from Victor Moses was just enough for the Super Eagles to see off Poland in their friendly encounter at the Stadion Mjejski in Wraclow on Friday evening. But how did every one of the Eagles fare?

Goalkeeper
Francis Uzoho: Made a hoax of a cross which nearly allowed Krychowiak to prod over the line but for Balogun's clearance. Looked tensive in stretches though his point blank save to deny Lewandowski was phenomenal. 8/10

Defenders
Shehu Abdullahi: Pushed up from right and looked to instigate attack. Came off for Tyronne Ebuehi after some discomfort. 7/10
William Troost-Ekong: Marshalled the backline with his sturdy challenges and always put his body on the line. 8/10
Leon Balogun: Failed to track down Robert Lewandowski who struck the woodwork in the opening stages before making a crucial goal line clearance. A satisfactory performance though. 8/10
Brian Idowu: Did his fair share of defensive contribution but offered very little going forward. 7/10

Midfielders
Wilfred Ndidi: Was full of life in the midfield battle though passing was erratic. 7/10
Joel Obi: Added a physical edge to his game and always looked to connect with the attackers. 7/10
Alex Iwobi: Showed flashes of brilliance and tricky footwork down the left flank but final balls came to nothing. Came off in the second half for Ahmed Musa. 7/10
Victor Moses: Went on a few mazy runs but failed to break down a resilient Polish defence. Picked himself to convert from the spot after he was felled in the area. 8/10

Attackers
Kelechi Iheanacho: Was largely kept quiet and drifted backward to pick up stray balls. Was replaced by John Ogu in the closing stages. 6/10
Odion Ighalo: Always looked to get in behind Kalil Glik and Kaminski and held up the ball on occasions. 7/10

Substitutes
Ahmed Musa: Went on his trademark runs during his short time on the pitch though nothing spectacular was carved out. 5/10
Ogenyi Onazi: Helped shore up middle after coming on with keeping passing simple. 5/10
Kenneth Omeruo: Brought on to help curtail the Poland attack. 5/10
Tyronne Ebuehi: Helped the defence to hold onto their slender advantage though had very little to do.
John Ogu: Merely added fresh legs after coming on.
Moses Simon: Spent very little time on the pitch to be scrutinized.

Don't know if Polish defenders are just too bad, or Moses has really improved. But I'm eating my words, he does know how to dribble.
Then you don't know Moses really well before now. How could anyone argue about the fact that V. Moses is our X factor alongside Mikel??

Rohr should try a 4-5-1 formation against England. With etebo, ndidi, onazi, mikel and moses in the middle

Ogbeni, calm down.... our WC preparation is still work in progress.... improvements and corrections will b made as preparation continue...

BTW,what make u think we won't do well at the WC if we play like this? is there any guarantee that our opponents won't make mistake or flop against us?

After serbia game, then i will believe we are getting it, anytime mikel didnt play, we play unattractive football. If we play this same thing against serbia then penalties may not save us.

For real bro, the guy fine eh.. grin ..I feel he could have displaced Shehu if he had accepted the first call up he got.. Shehu doesn't play at RB a his club and I'm afraid it's affecting his performance in the role..or maybe he was just playing to Rohr's instruction tonight....

Well sha, there is still Serbia to play.maybe Ebuhehi and Aina will start ..

As for Uche Agbo,I'm beginning to pity him ooo
. grin Na so Agbo just dey use style style get WC ticket without playing any game sha. Maybe he'll play against Serbia.

Better second half

Moses: selfish but special.
Iheanacho: ok performance
Uzoho: "Nigeria has found a giant in this young man"
Musa: should have got a goal off Onazi's clever pass
Onazi: better than J. Obi going forward ESP
J. Obi: showed his destroyer side
Shehu: past this test
Ebuehi: looks set for Russia
Ekong & Balogun: don't touch that pair
Ekong: my MOTM
Idowu. Not excellent, but soaked the pressure. Better than Echiejile still.
Iwobi: showed his Arsenal side
Ndidi: hard worker always. Untouchable

Who am I missing?
Good ratings.

We were poor at counters today. I think we were actually lucky several times in the first half.

Ekong is the new Marshall of our defence. Its there for all to see.
. I'm glad both are living up to expectations. At least we know those positions will be well taken care of. We just have to focus on our midfield for now. Meanwhile how did Ndidi fare? Almost no one has spoken about him.

He is quite right.

We lacked creativity. I'm happy we won but I feel it would've been better if we lost. If that'll make our creative deficiencies glaring.

How many clear cut chances did we create. In the WC, we might not be able to soak up pressure against the likes of Spain, Germany, or even Croatia for a full 90mins

I mean, it was annoying watching guys that play in Europe struggle with making simple passes.

If there's only one thing Rohr should strongly work on, it's our passing and creativity.

Our opponents may decide to target Mikel at the WC and give him the matuidi treatment (Onazi, 2014). If that happens, what next??

Common Super Eagles, I know you guys can play far better

Shehu needs to start from bench henceforth
For most part of the game; he was slow and unstable.. We can't afford to start him in world Cup.. The guy na African football fit am.

A combo of Moses seems
Victor et Simon

They seem to connect well

Iheanacho needs to step up or kiss the bench

Thank you sir. Take away the penalty and u will see that we created nothing, we were just playing the ball into the air, no creativity. I want to see us play more without mikel, we still dont have replacement for him.

He's not as bad as you think he is bro. He wasn't the only one that had a bad game. For your information, He's now in a bigger club in Bursaspor, Turkey.

But Ebuehi is better nevertheless

oga, join us in March please, Shehu plays in Turkey, alongside Ekong in Bursaspor

That being said, I obviously cannot even comment on the rest of your post if you don't even know where Shehu plays.
