Three players I think Rohr should start from the bench against Serbia are Shehu, Iwobi and Joel ( won't be bad if he starts again though)

To be replaced by the following players in the starting lineup: Tyronne, S. Moses( to try once more his communication with v.Moses), and Onazi or Ogu.

They are a team of grandpas, I don't expect them to run around like youth players. Every good counter attacking team should capitalise on that.

Guys I think we should bench or not play Obi Mikel until the game with Congo. It would be a great experience for the team to learn to how to play in the absence of him.

We should not play the 4-4-1-1/ 4-4-2 formation, Midfield was thin today..

Iwobi was restricted to the wing but he does his best work when he comes to the center to link attack and midfield.

I understand Balogun picked a knock but should be fine in a few days..

Croatia need to be far better in the world cup..

Peru got a red card..

Croatia are not looking great in Miami even with Modric and Rakitic

Idowu wasn't particularly great today, but I'd choose him over Elserson everyday and twice on sundays.

Ekong, Balogun, Ndidi, Joel Obi to me were the standout performers today.

Vic Mo was always getting on my nerves.

The game was a boring one, if I wanna be honest, but a nice win for us and a clean sheet for Francis.

London here we come!

Soar Eagles!

Full time

Peru 2 Croatia 0

Peru were given a red on 75 minutes..

Croatia are vulnerable to fast counters and the defenders panic when pressed.

They love to pass the ball around though, sometimes overdo it in my opinion.

I love this win against them. Peru played with one man down from the 75th min but Modric and co couldn’t find an answer. Nice morale booster for us. May disaster fall on them when they play us in June.

Let’s watch Iceland.

I think it’s an interesting game. The boring bit there for me is the names. I keep hearing ‘Son’, ‘son’ everytime they touch the ball.

I'm watching the Mexico vs Iceland game also..my take..

They look like a very organised side playing a 3-5-2 formation but lack the cutting edge to their play. There is this bald guy on their team, he is just a good distributor just like what mikel does for us..

I think our speed, athletism and physicality might edge out iceland if we play to our full potential and I hope we don't underestimate them..we treat them like we are playing a world cup final, we should be fine..make no mistakes about this Iceland team, they seem to be very structured and disciplined..

Mexico 3-0 Iceland.

Tbaba1234 did you see that sweeeeet strike?
Do you still think Iceland could stratch Argentina?

Argentina would decimate them if this is how they play.

Mexico’s game improved lots since the introduction of Carlos Vela.
Iceland missed their chance in the 75th min. They scored but it was from an offside position.

I’m not impressed with their game at all.

My biggest worry is our first match against Croatia. If we can beat Croatia, we’d get some good result against this team.

I think Iceland would chase shadows against a team that keeps possession.

Beautiful goals especially the free kick goal and the third goal from Miguel Layun of Sevilla

Why has Aina not had a chance to play RB a position he was voted best RB in the championship.

For me Ebuehi is better going forward and Shehu is better defensively and Aina is somewhere in between. But I can't say for sure till he plays at least 45 minutes. Hopefully Aina willl play against Serbia.
Aina said he likes playing at LB. We should try him out again there.

We can surely get a good result against Iceland but we can't underestimate them, that would be our greatest undoing..

Croatia team is beatable also, they seem not to have enough energy in the middle of the park, I'm sure if we get our tactics right and luck rides on our side, we can sure get a good result against this Croatian team..

Nigerian team needs to sort out our ball transitioning, but the fact is, our team looks very defensively organised and this might be one of our greatest assets at the world cup..I doubt omeruo can replace Balogon effectively but you can't take away his world cup experience...Omeruo is just poor at slide tackles, he prefers doing standing tackles which might work sometimes but to be a solid defender, you need to be able make sliding blocks like ekong did late in the game..

Think we're going to have problems against teams that sit back i.e Iceland.
the first game at the mundial will determine who sits back the most between Nigeria and Iceland in the second game

If they need a win crucially, they must need come out

Thoughts on Balogun
His performance was good. Great clearance. At least that saved our blushes even though with VAR it might have counted.
