Uzoho's one vs one save against Lewa was what Courtouis couldn't do vs barca. Same angle but funny he saved it with his blokos grin

Why has Aina not had a chance to play RB a position he was voted best RB in the championship.

For me Ebuehi is better going forward and Shehu is better defensively and Aina is somewhere in between. But I can't say for sure till he plays at least 45 minutes. Hopefully Aina willl play against Serbia.
Well from what l saw, defensively Ebuehi positions himself better than Shehu, and even though he attacks he is not easily caught out of position.

If Uzoho will be first choice, no need testing the other keepers, he needs a lot of exposure before the WC.

Moses India Iwobi could switch off for most part of the game but they mostly have their moment of brilliance which could lead to a goal

No one comes close to being a replacement to Ndidi and Mikel, they must be fit.

Confidence and team spirit is growing, the team believe they can win, this is good for the World Cup

I noticed some few issues in that match. Congratulations though to the Super Eagles:
1. Victor Moses is skillful but selfish
2. Joel Obi is talented, tested and trusted
3. Alex Iwobi does not tick in every physical game. Even that against South Africa, he was lost. The Polish team were too physical for him.
4. Wilfred Ndidi, Shehu Abdullahi and Troost Ekong are both rock solid.
5. Francis Uzoho needs more friendly games to boost his confidence. Maduka Okoye should also be drafted in too.

Admittedly I've never really watched Joel play until yesterday and judging by the hype here prior to the game, I had high expectations from him but I was left unimpressed. Didn't really see any world class moment. Just average.

Our interplay was poor yesterday but it was expected. We played away against a team 6th in world football. We had an impotent attack too. Overall, I think we were lacking confidence and needed someone to inspire that. That's where mikel comes in. We'll take the win anyways. Gearing up for Serbia. I hope for a Barca esque display in Hive.

In congo4ka's voice.

Coach Rohr's post-match comments

Coach Gernot Rohr: "We were lucky to have won this game against a very solid Polish side. They created some big opportunities to score and were dangerous from set pieces that we found difficult to cope with but I praise my team for their victory."

"This team is a young team but also a team of leaders. If we stay Humble& continue to work hard to improve our play we have huge potentials, but beating 2 FIFA top 10 teams in friendlies doesn’t mean we are now World Cup favourites."

I just love his choice of words. wink
this is the plan. Now I understand why he writes off nigeria atimes. wink

Idowu wasn't particularly great today, but I'd choose him over Elserson everyday and twice on sundays.

Ekong, Balogun, Ndidi, Joel Obi to me were the standout performers today.

Vic Mo was always getting on my nerves.

The game was a boring one, if I wanna be honest, but a nice win for us and a clean sheet for Francis.

London here we come!

Soar Eagles!
I can't rewatch it. Twas boring.

Better second half

Moses: selfish but special.
Iheanacho: ok performance
Uzoho: "Nigeria has found a giant in this young man"
Musa: should have got a goal off Onazi's clever pass
Onazi: better than J. Obi going forward ESP
J. Obi: showed his destroyer side
Shehu: past this test
Ebuehi: looks set for Russia
Ekong & Balogun: don't touch that pair
Ekong: my MOTM
Idowu. Not excellent, but soaked the pressure. Better than Echiejile still.
Iwobi: showed his Arsenal side
Ndidi: hard worker always. Untouchable

Who am I missing?

dis agree with joel obi.. Was probably playing to instruction as he was play A Cmf role..

Mikel Agu
Mikel Agu has been handed a late Super Eagles call-up as a replacement for skipper Mikel Obi, who is now no longer expected in London for Tuesday’s World Cup warm-up against Serbia.

“Mikel Agu has got a late call-up,” Eagles spokesman Toyin Ibitoye disclosed.

Mikel Obi has yet to finalise his work permit in China and that has meant he will not be available for the friendlies against Poland and Serbia.

Defensive midfielder Mikel Agu has shone for Turkish club Bursaspor on loan from FC Porto, but he has struggled to reproduce such form for the Super Eagles.

. I disagree with him on poland lacking energy. Infact poland was so energetic and brutal that i almost thought we were playing an African side, in addition they had too many playerd behind the ball and that affected our counter attacking football. Anytime Nigeria countered, the bulluish polish fouled us. tbh with you, both teams played well amd it was a great result for Nigeria. Poland was very technical despite not been blessed with so many world class players. Mikel would have been a spark for us, hope he will play Serbia?

to be honest Ighalo played below par yesterday...he was always missing in the opponent team yard box....and could not make use of the aerial balls...not really interesting for me...

I will want Gabriel and Ajayi to be tried out...in the serbia friendlies....and Ighalo rested

I don't think rohr knows...him....him getting invited for the Congo friendlies will be a plus...at least he can be left to play that match...so we can access him better.

see wahala....we really need scout for an attacking Midfieder....I don't want same problem that happened in the last world cup....where keshi had to play 3 defensive Midfieder....with no creativity from the middle....
this is really serious....

we just need Mikel available for the World Cup and we go dey alright.

I don't see why you guys are making such a fus about Mikel

Every team has a talisman, an irreplaceable one at that, and their back-ups are usually not very impressive. It's Lewandoski for Poland, CR7 for Portugal, Messi for Argentina, Salah for Egypt and Mikel for Nigeria.

How many of those teams are making a fuss about capable replacements?
