After serbia game, then i will believe we are getting it, anytime mikel didnt play, we play unattractive football. If we play this same thing against serbia then penalties may not save us.

Is that all?...

When we beat Serbia again, you will start gloating about

Honestly I don't understand you guys sometimes

Its like you people always carry scanner looking for our mistakes or error in every match undecided

Forgetting that no two matches are exactly the same

What we you all expecting?... That Nigeria Ranked 52 will just walz through Poland ranked 6 at home in wraclow in front of 42,000 fans where they haven't lost in a very long time?

Like seriously?... So na beans Poland come pick for pitch?

Una tire me for here walahi!!

Listen, we neutralised them and they neutralised us too, that's why we looked uncoordinated... But the difference was that we won. We fuccking won even when we didnt play well....we won and that's all that matters!!!! angry

I think Joel Obi played deeper.
He was playing too deep. Instead of creating, he was making too many rash tackles. At a point, I feared he would get a red. He eventually got a yellow.

I think Kelechi drifting to the 18-yard box affected Joel's connection with the attack. They were supposed to work together.

A question: For those who watch Torino's games, how much creativity does Joel pack in his game?

It was absent yesterday. I expected him to hold the ball, spray passes and generally dictate the tempo.

Onazi did drive forward and pushed the attack when he joined the foray at the latter stage of the match.

Aside the fact he was gittery in the first half. He still displays some school boyish goalkeeping tendencies. What's up with all those punches in the second half?
No doubt he is a good shots stopper. He improved in the second half. But men.... he is not World cup ready. I wish Rohr can look into Ajiboye again.

Hmmm Chief icon4s always happy to read your view and i need to bring this out from your post.

I think we have been in this business for so long i mean watching Eagles especially our goalkeepers and we should put sentiments and emotions aside and say the truth.

Sir with what i saw yesterday and with what we have presently in our goalkeeping dept,Dele Ajiboye deserves to be in Eagles squad to slug it out with Uzoho, Ezenwa and Akpeyi.

Hope to see better Uzoho against Serbia

All I want to say is Well done Super Eagles.... smiley I have no need going player for player... But Ekong was the best of the lot for me and Victor Moses still showed why he is the boss and livewire of the Super Eagles Attack. Amazing how we beat Argentina without him (Ofcos Mikel alone can make a decent attack of Nacho and Iwobi look like Magic).

Yes, VicMo was selfish, and full of himself at times especially on that freekick he should have left for Nacho buuuuuutttttt.... Live with it... That guy is our biggest gun after Mikel. #Fact #CaseClosedOnThat

Breakout star of the game.... "Big" Francis Uzoho smiley

Lord! That one-on-one save against arguably The world's best no.9 is gonna do something magical to Uzoho's confidence and mindset going forward. His morale is boosted after another fine shutout (another cleansheet) and he can only get better from here. He was jittery yes, but he is 19 and has not faced such huge crowd before with the whole stadium egging Poland on... Uzoho showed heart.... And I think this is the heart we need between the sticks. A Young lad with a Big Heart for the Grand occasions.
His scary face, big frame, super height and Big Heart... Hmmmm... Watch out for this lad. He is Nigeria's next number 1.

Iheanacho was kinda quiet today apart from a couple of fine interchanges/interplays and I was right to warn you all to not expect him to do even half of a Mikel... Despite that his shift on the overall was just moderately okay. I expect more from him (if he gets to start) against Serbia in the presence of Mikel.

The midfield combo of Ndidi and Joel did more tackling, marking, and ball winning rather than stringing consistently fine passes together to connect To Nacho and the other forward men. This left Nacho to come pick up stray balls deep in midfield sometimes.... Truly Mikel is the boss as I have always said.. The odogwu himself remains the best man for the no.10 role in this SE set-up.

With time, more will be said as we look forward to having a really solid 23-man squad for the mundial but I will end by saying, this win was massive and it is a big deal indeed. Beating a LewanGOALSki-led polish team (no.6 in the world) with our world no.52 team... *whistles** I say, this is huge mehn... After all we are not world class... But we have done it over two world class top 10 teams in Argentina and now in Poland. And this Poland result came in Wroclaw, Poland in front if their 48,000 passionate fans..... I say our young team deserve the credits. We can only get better.

#SoarSuperEagles

Thanks TheSuperNerd... I've been waiting to hear from you and other consistent analysts on this thread.
I get nauseated when I see a lot of freelance writers bombarding this thread to condemn/criticise the eagles after a match, win or loose.
Damn it, this guys beat world no4 Argentina, they said its a fuke... Next they went to Poland's backyard and beat Poland world no6 in front of a 42000 partisan crowd , now they are saying its because Poland didn't play well blah blah...
We are here seeing things like poor transition between attack and defense. I hope they say that when man utd/Chelsea struggle to string two or three passes together consistently and still manage to beat the team that has all the possession? No? That one is tactics!
But when it comes to the eagles.. It's poor play.
No be everyone go fit play tikitaka... Pesin wey dey find tiki taka, make him go dey support Spain abeg.
Leave us alone.
I'm tired of typing....

his height yesterday Really made me not to panic much whenever Poland had a corner kick....
There were many loose balls during the crosses to the box, some of them were free headers. We were lucky not to concede.

We need to work on dealing with crosses.

But I'm very happy we were defensively disciplined. You would think it was an European defense, and indeed it was. Balogun, Ekong, Idowu, Ebuehi. All Europeans.

I have not really been a fan of Simon. I think he is not an intelligent footballer. But then he is in the team, so we might as well try him, even if it's to show Iwobi that he may be the poster child of the new Eagles but he is by no means undroppable.
yeah...and moreover iwobi I believe can also do well when introduced as sub....he is a technical player...

Coach Rohr's post-match comments

Coach Gernot Rohr: "We were lucky to have won this game against a very solid Polish side. They created some big opportunities to score and were dangerous from set pieces that we found difficult to cope with but I praise my team for their victory."

"This team is a young team but also a team of leaders. If we stay humble & continue to work hard to improve our play we have huge potentials, but beating 2 FIFA top 10 teams in friendlies doesn’t mean we are now World Cup favourites."

I just love his choice of words. wink

Super Eagles coach,Gernot Rohr, has reacted to the 1-0 win Over Poland In the international friendly match on Friday.

The coach called for caution in the wake of his side’s 1-0 win over Poland-the 6th best football team in the world.

He said his team have beaten Argentina and Poland because they are young and have remained humble.

The Franco-German said beating the two teams in top 10 in the FIFA ranking does not make the Eagles favourite for the World Cup, calling for more humility and hard work.

Victor Moses converted a 61st minute penalty to give Nigeria the win in Wroclaw.

Rohr said, “This team is a young team but also a team of leaders.

“If we stay humble & continue to work hard to improve our play we have huge potentials, but beating Two FIFA top 10 teams in friendlies doesn’t mean we are now World Cup favourites.”

Argentina Is the 3rd best team in the world while Poland is 6th.

The Super Eagles will travel to London to face Serbia on Tuesday.

This is how the boys must always think before they start feeling unbeatable and start misbehaving.

you're right with your first sentence..that could be after the world cup....maybe one young lad may spring up kelechi nwakali or even onomah could agree play for Nigeria...that's topic for another day.

but relating to the bolded...ajayi I think is a CF...not a Midfieder.
I have watched some of his highlights too....I will want nancho or iwobi to still be tried there....for now....and Ighalo seems not to be a perfect solution to our striking problem...I pray Henry recover on time prior the drafting of the 35 man list.
Henry has recovered, he may start playing again in a month's time.

Vic Moses... Sometimes you want to stone the guy, sometimes you want to Kiss the guy.

But the coach just sent a message to Nacho, sometimes you have to work for ya balls. Vic Mo is more important than Nacho, so Nacho has to develop his game to fit into how Vic Mo plays, although that diminishes the teams potential, but with the way Vic Mo can all of a sudden impact a game (like he did today with the penalty) I perfectly understand Rohr. He knows what he will get from Vic Mo day in day out.

Mikel Obi and Victor Moses are the most important players in the Super Eagles.

But men... this is the WC we are talking about. Uzoho is talented but..... he still keeps like a youth goalie.

He can easily get overwhelmed. It is so unfortunate that we find ourselves in this kind of situation.

Honestly, Ajiboye is better than that guy. Rohr needs to reconsider him.

i think Moses needs a partner in crime that understands him in the team, like the Emenike-Ideye pair.

I noticed that after he dribbled, no one came out to receive him pass, no one. I have a problem though, he is selfish. and we don't need this at the mundial where we would be punished for that.

good angle, our defenders have improved in their comfy kinda passing and accuracy.

Balogun is low on confidence, he would have made mistakes if he was at CB. He did well at LB though.
