Some governors have indicated interest in the 2019 senatorial election after their tenure . Currently , there are 15 ex- governors in the Senate , and political pundits are of the opinion that some of the governors only go to the upper legislative chamber to “ rest , ” describing it as a situation which has gross implications for the future of the country , JESUSEGUN ALAGBE writes http://punchng.com/worries-as-govs-turn-senate-into-retirement-home/ 2 Likes

If they reduce the money senators receive, the upper chamber will become unattractive to them. 32 Likes |

Same way Buhari is currently using the presidency as his retirement home. He has failed at every turn and does not even possess the minimum qualification to hold that office. On winning the election, first statement he made was to the effect that age will hinder his performance. So why bother if not for selfish reasons!!! 17 Likes 2 Shares |

And they will began to scream that the youth are the leaders of tomorrow. Any body that tell you that, abeg watch that person. Though everywhere in the world but Nigeria case is greediness and a way of safe guarding a political space of their next generation and those not yet born. 1 Like |

To chilax and enjoy cool pay On another note....was not surprised a whole Okoroawusa said this I have decided to run for the Imo West Senatorial District because if I don’t, bad people will take the position. If my name appears on the ballot paper as contesting for the Senate , it will boost the All Progressives Congress ’ chances in the state . And many from my zone have said they will not contest if I am interested , ”the 55 year - old governor said We steal because Nigerians don’t stone us- Amaechi Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, revealed at the weekend that political office holders steal state funds because Nigerians do not stone them. Amaechi, disclosed this in Lagos during an event organised to pay tribute to Nelson Mandela, challenged Nigerians to hold their leaders accountable. He said, “If you see a thief and you allow him to be stealing, what have you done? You have stoned nobody; that is why we are stealing. Who have you stoned? They came out and started dancing oil subsidy, oil subsidy. They told you that they stole N2.3trn, what did you do? “Instead you are protesting ‘bring more oil subsidy’; the oil subsidy that is not reaching the poor. A few individuals are going away with the money and you have done nothing. You are mourning Madiba, who lived up to 95, and he was very angry with Nigeria when he died. “You’ve heard that $50bn is missing and you have done nothing about it. In some countries people will go on the street until they return that money. It is N8trn, it can change Nigeria. “Me I want to steal only $1bn, let them bring it. You read Obasanjo’s letter and you are asking why is he writing the letter, is he a South-South man? In fact, when he was there what did he do? You, what have you done? If you don’t take your destiny in your hands, we will go and other leaders will come and continue stealing.” https://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/12/steal-nigerians-dont-stone-us-amaechi/ 5 Likes |

buhari is cutting a small cake.. because the military/police most administrate 24 states.. federal republic state have been reduced from 35 states to only 12 states. federal republic.. means no military, no police.. so the schools and hospitals etc in 24 states most be administrated by military and police officers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOEyykwSx1c https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aow1Z7TyX3M |

Let them kill Nigeria and bury it. The political structure and system is quite difficult for aspiring youths to emerge. In a society where money is very active in politics, where the emergence of a candidate is in the hands of few party delegates who collect money in exchange for party ticket/candidacy, the poor youths find it extremely difficult to engage in politics. The system has been hijacked. For instance, if I am interested in running for the governorship of my state with little money but sincere heart to serve, those rich ex-governors and corrupt politicians will use their money and buy the position. To fix Nigeria needs a revolution and not youths in politics only. We need a revolution by the youths exactly as it happened in former Yugoslavia. The best election we've ever had(June 12) was rubbished by one man. Instead of calling the youths to politics, call them for a revolution. The Nigerian youths are incapacitated as it is now unless there's a change in the way certain things are in Nigeria today. 3 Likes 1 Share |
