My Current Research: Highly Flexible Supercapacitor Fabrication for Energy Storage

The rapid increase in the global energy consumption and the environmental impact of traditional energy resources has led to tremendously increased research activities on clean and renewable energy sources recently. As these new energy forms are intermittent or regionally limited (e.g., water), there is a pressing need to develop advanced energy storage systems, such as supercapacitors, for efficient storage of electrical energy at all scales ranging from solar through wind farms to wearable electronics.

My team: Myself (Supervisor), 3 PhD students, 6 undergraduate students

Funding: Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey and Cyprus Science University Campus Research Funding

Funding amount and duration: 10,000 USD (6 months timeline)

Electrode and Electrolyte Materials: Electrode materials will be fabricated from waste chewing gum and electrolyte from extracted cassava or irish potatoes.

Applications
The supercapacitor will be applied for energy storage in a small-scale in applications Including transport, stationary, flexible, wearable and micro-supercapacitors.

Publication: Outcome will be published in quality Journals of Power sources, Energy Chemistry etc and presented at international conferences.

Interested in Supercapacitor??

A supercapacitor is a device that can store a large amount of energy, typically 10 to 100 times more energy per unit mass compared to ordinary capacitors. It is preferred to batteries owing to its faster and simpler charging, and faster delivery of charge.

Regarding text books, i don't really know. But I believe there should be a torrent site where you can get latest books. Becareful with torrent sites though. I haven't had need for it, maybe that's why i don't know.

Welldone Prof,

Honestly, your contributions to this thread is highly significant, and your type is kinda scarce.
With someone like you on this thread, it give me(Upcoming scientists) a great hope that we still have some boss that can assist us.

Although, our specialization is so far apart, but I just must salute your good ways here.

I want to be like you when I grow up. I'm a very small boy. God's grace I'm starting my M.Sc by FALL 2018.

I'm a Conservationist, and have so much passion for research. (My interests is in Primate and Amphibian conservation).

I have gained a lot from this thread, and I thank you all. God bless

Thank you sir.

Although the research areas may be different but scientific research follows a similar pattern. We can always share ideas, support in looking at published work, mentor upcoming researchers, industrialist and academics.

Ensure your research has academic, industrial and business use in mind. All research needs to be designed to allow scalability and easy adaptation to the industries.

Best wishes and success in your MSc.

Please what do you think about this journal as regards indexing in SCI, SCI-e or Emerging source science citation index. Also, what do you think of it's impact factor? Any additional opinion of yours would be really helpful.

Thanks for taking your time to write this up for me. Really appreciated.

[s]I went through their website and did not see anything on publication fee. Where did you see that? I must have missed it.[/s] Never mind, seen it.

I also saw the journal indexed here http://www.scimagojr.com/journalsearch.php?q=21100469675&tip=sid&clean=0 so I thought it was a good journal. Is scimagojr.com not a good place to find indexed journals? Sorry for my numerous questions, I am embarking on this without any supervision or guidance from anyone.

Scimago is just a research group that takes most of its information from scopus to rank some journals. It's not an indexing database or coverage.

Take note: you don't need to pay kobo for any quality publications in standard journal provided you are not choosing open access (not necessary).

To find quality journals, kindly check major publishers like Elservier, Springer, Taylor & Francis, Wiley, British societies, IOP, IEEE etc. Just type any of above on google, then search for their journals you will find quality journals.

To check the index of any journals kindly visit the Master Journal List under CLARIVATE ANALYTICS and to check their Quartiles (Q1-Q4), visit web of science.

You can easily google PhD scholarship in your field of interest, you can google universities in specific countries you wish to go and search information regarding scholarship on each university website, you can register on researchgate website and under job search for Phd in field you want. As a prospective PhD student, you must be be able to individually utilize the internet and search engine technologies to a high level.

Fully funded Phd: before you can consider yourself as a recipient of a fully funded PhD in a standard university, you need to see if you meet the general and specific criteria:

1. High bachelor and master CGPA (>3.3/4.0)

2. Verifiable or documented fundamental competence in laboratory and analytical Works.

3. Documented experience in communicating scientific results in reputable journals and conferences (publication history).

4. Special skills in your field related to the open positions like adequate skills in signal processing, ANN, circuit design, microprocessor development etc.

5. Proved independent ability to carry out research and deliver results as scheduled.

Above are just common requirements. Below are two open positions for you, see if you can apply or fit to your interest. I just googled I found those..so do the same don't let people do your homework for you.

Am researching on " Sustainable Model for Carbo footprint "

Suggestions for you:

Some of the top-quality journals that publish works on Carbon footprint:

a. Science of The Total Environment
b. Journal of Cleaner Production
c. Ecological Modelling
d. Energy
e. Resources, Conservation and Recycling

You may have a look at the following recent high-quality publications relating to your research:

1. A Dynamic Quasi Comprehensive Model for Determining the Carbon Footprint of Fossil Fuel Electricity: A Case Study of Iran
DOI: 10.1016/j.jclepro.2018.03.274

2. A carbon footprint simulation model for the cork oak sector
Science of The Total Environment, Volumes 566–567, (2016) 499-511.

3. A hybrid fruit fly algorithm for solving flexible job-shop scheduling to reduce manufacturing carbon footprint
Journal of Cleaner Production, Volume 168, (2017) 668-678.

Upgrading of Pyrolyzed oil is a nice research focus. I have substantial experience with that. Specifically, I use catalytic upgrading route via fluidized cracking reactor or esterification.

If you are very interested then you may need to have some facilities to test the pyrolyzed and upgrades bio-oil like checking the flash point, viscosity, pH etc.

You will need to prepare catalysts and one of the emerging and robust catalyst is MOFS ( metal organic framework). So if you are ready to work I can pass you procedure to prepare various MOFS or send u some of my published works. Also, to support you, I can help you with characterizations of the prepared catalysts but then you must be able to check your upgraded oil at your own end.
very grateful looking forward to your assist on the procedure. thank you (bilal4riid13@gmail.com)

Do you have access to science direct articles and where are you based?
