How to get deployed to your state of choice

Another batch of service has arrived and many prospective corp members are hoping to be posted to a preferred state. However in NYSC posting, there is no hoping, there is only quick thinking and quick execution.

As a current serving corp member, I want others to learn from my experience so I am writing this little guide. There are 3 ways to get your preferred state (apart from your state of origin)

1. Choose a state that is in low demand. The problem with this option is that those low demand states usually have nothing much to offer hence the reason they are in low demand. States like Osun, Ekiti and Zamfara hardly pay in terms of state allowance.

2. Get posted to any random state then RELOCATE (what you know as redeploy) to your preferred state. Many guys use this option and relocate to either Lagos, Rivers or Abuja. Reasons for relocation include health grounds, marital status and insecurity(Borno, Yobe and Adamawa).

This option has the disadvantage of being uncertain, expensive and dangerous. After spending much money and risking one's life travelling to a relatively strange and far state, you may end up not getting relocated immediately after camp.
Many people try this method and many people get rejected! This means spending more time and money to ensure the relocation goes through eventually.

Again, by the time you are eventually relocated, all the best and juicy PPAs (place of primary assignment) will already be taken leaving you with PPAs rejected by corps members originally posted to the state.

3. Working your posting.
This is the best and most certain option. It has the advantage of you getting where you want, getting a good PPA and having an enjoyable service year.

The only problem with this is putting your trust on the wrong people like I did. I paid 55k in order to be posted to Abuja got disappointed. When I eventually found the right connect, it was too late. I got posted to Adamawa state instead of Abuja. I finally relocated to another state on grounds of insecurity (as they don't relocate to Abuja or Lagos except on very serious and verifiable health conditions.)

Regardless, when you pay the right people, you get posted to your preferred state without hassles. While in camp, I discovered 2 of my school friends got posted to Abuja, while another got posted to Lagos. They paid 48k each to a legit connect and got their preferred state with sweet PPAs. I paid 55k and got posted to Adamawa. I eventually got the number of who worked it for them and I can assure you it's perfect.

This guide is quite long but I want you guys to have all the facts. If you want to pay for posting (which is the surest way)

a) ensure you pay to someone that guarantees your money bavk if it fails

b) ensure the person has proof of posting others to their preferred state.

c) ensure you act on time before Abuja and Lagos gets filled up. Posting becomes difficult by the second week of registration.

A friend of mine told me they will bring it back, that it is just scope so that people will avoid those state. But I don't know how true it is
