I ordered an uber for a friend and the driver came with a highlander, like I said earlier, it's not always about the size of the engine, it's about bin smart.

Talking about brand of cars, I see where people say only xyz cars will stand the test of time, they are right to an extent but not entirely, if you haven't driven other brands then it's wrong to ascertain that other brands won't, afterall I still see some rickety Volvo carrying tomatoes around Mile12. Some cars are problematic but with diligence and good maintenance culture it would serve you well and that's if you drive it yourself but if you ain't driving yourself then stick to xyz brand.

If I decide I wanna drive on uber and should I want to go for a 2.5litre engine then it would be a 2014 Camry or 2014 Honda Accord, yes i have class and I also know there are riders who also deserve such...

Like I said, it's all about working smart.

Like Gazzuzz has any earlier explained . That Highlander guy is probably not a 24/7 driver. He may just be trying to get money for fuel.

This can't be ascertained because there are several factors that influence or can influence it.

Bad driver will make your ROI longer to achieve
Brand of vehicle as well
E-hailing policies

koolg:

Please sir what's the estimate of ROI if I buy a car and give to a driver on Uber platform

I guess because Uber partnership is a very topical issue, especially among young Nigerians, the main Nairaland demography.

Am Thinking of being a partner...

Need more clarification...
I heard from a Uber drivers that Uber cut the driver offline if they don't meet a certain rating 1-3 is bad rating while 4-5 is good rating, and such driver would not be allow to use Uber again...as the drivers told me...So I think basically Uber his not protect the drivers, they are the one working- really hard to make money for the partners and themselves also...also such drivers would have a family to feed... If at all any of the drivers have 1-3 good rating, its the partners that need to query the driver and not Uber disconnecting the drivers without not letting the partners know about it...

If what these drivers told me his true...then if the partner chose to drive his car...same issue will occur?
I think that's quiet bad...(Not Protecting the drivers)?

Need more clarification on these please?
Hmm well said but if all this measures re not put in place, drivers ll misbehave and become arrogant towards d riders.
Fine its a service u re rendering but their must b different btw Danfo driver and cooperate driver.
Uber doesn't kick driver out just like that, d driver must have been given warning and if no improvement he get kicked out so he doesn't spoil d brand.
Remember we ve many others in d country right now.

Ogunvic certainly has scores to settle.

However as much as Romeo has sanctimoniously denounced Ogunvic here severally, he's just as complicit in the issues and deserted his 'once friend and partner' at the first sign of trouble.
A car under their management got severely damaged with fire while being driven by Romeo and he hasn't shown an ounce of concern about it. I spit out such a friend from my life

About Ogunvic's issue :
It is now very certain he lied about the number of cars he has on the platform cuz if truly he does, things shouldn't have gone this way. Don't know the rationale behind the buying a refurbished 406 for such an exorbitant amount.

Romeo, yes u denounced your association with Ogunvic but as it stands now you still have questions to answer cuz some of the transactions that was carried out happened when you guys were partners.

Drivers, before you sign an agreement, read the terms and conditions, if you are not okay with it, it is very simple don't take the car. [/quote]

hmmm,UBER. i am UBER partner, but the truth is that anybody that is given out his or her to DRIVER should give it second taught because, the business has a lot of partner now, which make us idle sometimes.and there is no way driver can help this because,if he don't get order there is no way money will come in. what I am trying to say is that driver find it difficult to meet up with weekly payments. due to number of partner that UBER has now. and UBER will take 25% for every trip, the remaining 75% for fuel, car owner and driver.some times we end up doing cabu cabu in other to meet up.

I am new to this thread and I noticed that you are quite full of ego. You own just 6 say 8cars and your shoulder is already so high, how much are those cars really? are they worth up to 30million naira?

Dude take a chill pill. so many people on this Nairaland are far more richer than you are, what you think you have that's making you high is what someone else is seeing as baby money.

Bragging on top 6-8cars that's not even worth 30m, GTFOH!

For a vehicle to be eligible for Uber in Nigeria, it must meet the following standards:

UberX & UberBlack vehicles must be sedan (no hatches accepted)

Vehicles must be 2008 or newer

Mileage should be a maximum of 100,000KMs when being put onto the Uber system

All vehicles require a working radio and air conditioner (electric windows preferable)

Vehicles must have a minimum of 1750mm width
No full-size (15 passenger) vans, Lincoln Towncars, Mercury Grand Marquis, or Ford Crown Victorias

No salvage vehicles. Must have a clean title.

To qualify for Uber, vehicle must have seat belts for all passengers including the driver.

Vehicles will remain on the Uber system unless complaints from riders about quality occur sooner

Only one driver per account, meaning the person driving the car is the one named on the account.

All drivers must go through a full background check initiated by UBER.

Driver must have a driver's license and lagos state driver's institute card.

Uber Nigeria reserves the right to refuse a vehicle that meets the above criteria, or accept a vehicle that does not meet the above criteria, as well as modify this criteria without notice.

Yeah, i totally agree with you. its all about working smart. But then we all know that if i was given a highlander for rental, i wont meetup no matter how smart I work. besides, that guy might be doing it for fun. He might not necessarily be doing it for money.

Some might just be bored, and feel like driving around. what better excuse to drive around, and then you still get paid the money you used for fuel.

Omo na 40k you should collect ... but most drivers na 35k or 30 self they want collect from you. Keep in mind you have to deal with the maintancing the car like oil change etc. Also a car with that high mileage is advisable to use synethic oil to avoid sludge in your car. A mobil 1 full synethic will cost you 16k or more to change the oil... keep all those in mind.. I collect 37k to 40 on some of my cars... so depends on the driver, please shine your eye before u give ur car out. I almost got burnt few times.... Goodluck bro
