Abi ooo. For the people forming Arséne Wenger of 15/16 season talking about "Cohesion" and "team spirit" as an excuse not to try out players are seeing it. We need an AM. Aluko should be invited for the next friendly. I don't mind trying out Samuel Kalu and Dessers for flair and attacking options.
why don't you go invite aluko yourself for rohr....?
what has aluko played this season?

dude will come in now and play trash... then we all will resort to start calling for another average player somewhere...to come boss the midfield....

Why?

What wing did Joel Obi play today?

oga, all the additional players we have been rooting for to be included in this team have struggled so far even the likes of ebuehi, awazie, aina and even idowu are all struggling. We already know the players that are delivering and has been delivering. It's high time we stick to them and save ourselves the trouble. Rohr knows his team already, na experiment he just dey do and taking risks

The two games we have lost under Rohr had Ekong- Awaziem partnership... I'm not blaming them oo.. but Omeruo should b the one to deputize for Balogun.. Save for the costly blunders he make at times, I think Omeruo is still a decent player in the GWG
and you are citing the Zambian match...?
it's like you've forgotten that ikeme kept us in that game...had it been it was any of these other goalies....it would have been a different story...even omeruo gift the Zambians a goal in that match....

He has something to gain by being here.. certainly not for the love of SE. grin

Hmmmm food for thought.

You will not.

2 d Pure all tings are pure, 2 d impure - - - -

You didn't comment on the substance but the ambiguity in using the play on words, you read the negative and not the positive.

Nwa nem nwaiye only u can answer that 4 urself

Bro if you are a true SE fan, nothing stops you from driving 200miles which is just 2hrs drive to go watch a naija team play at your backyard..I had to drive 480 miles in 2014 to chicago to go watch USA play belgium, I wasn't even a fan of any of the team, I only wanted to watch the stars on parade..

I have always given you benefit of doubt regarding SE but that statement complaining of just 2hrs drive shows you are not really passionate for SE, you just like to pick on SE players flaws....if you truly loved SE, you would at least have done your best to make that game..rmbr i also had work the next morning and I still drove 480miles just to go watch ordinary US team!!!

Joel Obi having a poor game doesn't mean he's a bad player. Anyone who has watched him at Torino will agree. Still think he's better on the ball than Onazi.
Regardless, I wouldn't be surprised if Rohr drops him for the WC and uses him more after the world cup.
Excuses not accepted, let's stop this pls. Enough of the risks, we got away with it with Poland and paid dearly with Serbia, do you know how close we are to the world cup?

it's like you've taken your time to know him.

all he cares about...is the suppose invitation of the average players he has mulling over and nothing else.

On behalf of myself and family, i hereby tender an unreserved apology to my fellow egulians and generality of sports loving Nigerians for praising Joel Obi to high heavens, thinking he is a good replacement for Mikel Obi. I'm so sorry. Please Rohr, you can send him back to the zoo you picked him from. He's better of with Monkeys. sad

The summary of your post is this: stick to the team that qualified you for the world cup. As for the likes of the ajagun, aluko that you mentioned, they can do nada, it's all permutations and assumptions like we said of Joel obi

Joel Obi brings alot to the team in terms of playing different formations. You can see that over the two matches.

Maybe your expectation was for him to play like Maradona or as an AMF but not that kind of player. He is more of a CMF, LM and LWB than a AMF.

There was never a time on this thread that I said Joel Obi is an AMF.

I think he offers more than John Ogu can offer.

The purpose of these friendlies is not to change your first eleven, but rather to have a better replacement for them on the bench. That's all.

No worry. When we go world cup and GOD FORBID Mikel gets injured or suspended, what we saw in the last 2 games will come back and haunt us again.
We saw it against SA. Now we've seen it against Poland and Serbia.

Uzoho made some good saves tonight too but the defence let him down...and since the friendliness are meant to test the team, lets see Ekong-Omeruo partnership again.

The last time Aluko played for the national team, he rescued us from shameful defeat and almost secured us a ticket to the AFCON. Know what? He did all these coming from the bench with 38 minutes left.

So, you can't write him off like that because he never flopped in the National team.

we definitely need an experience goal keeper asap. Joel obi can't even take on a player, to pass the ball self na problem. I think we should have called up efe Ambrose, Samuel kalu and Bonaventure instead of all this mediocre ajayi, okechukwu, agu, agbo etc.
Rohr already knows his team and he is trying to protect them from serious competition from inform young players like kalu, Bonaventure Sadiq umar etc that's why he is inviting mediocre guys to fill up the invite list.

About the summary of my post, you're correct.
But Joel is not a natural AM. Ajagun is a natural AM and I think Aluko can do too.

Rohr should just search for some of the AMs outside. They should come and try

but still we didn't get the ticket for afcon. Aluko has nothing to offer this team bruv, this is how we keep making noise for these players and when they get invited, they begin to struggle, we made noise for keshi to bring in martins then and nothing came out of it.

bruv, let's not taunt ourselves, it's too late to search for new players now, do you know how many weeks we have to the world cup? we can't afford another set of uchebos, azeez, ameobi gate crashing into the world cup team with nothing to show for it at the end. it cannot work o
