Just imagine!! If Joel can have a bad day twice in a row when he fully know that he was invites to prove himself, then he's not good enough.

against Poland Joel was one of the better players, way way better than Iheanacho and Shehu, the team was bad. then he was played as an AMF today and of course he didn't give his best because he isn't an AMF

Joel Obi brings alot to the team in terms of playing different formations. You can see that over the two matches.

Maybe your expectation was for him to play like Maradona or as an AMF but not that kind of player. He is more of a CMF, LM and LWB than a AMF.

There was never a time on this thread that I said Joel Obi is an AMF.

I think he offers more than John Ogu can offer.
See them!!

I listened to some folks on radio during the match, they complained bitterly about joel obi and some folks are here still insisting the guy is still an asset, chai

but still we didn't get the ticket for afcon. Aluko has nothing to offer this team bruv, this is how we keep making noise for these players and when they get invited, they begin to struggle, we made noise for keshi to bring in martins then and nothing came out of it.

Oga, Aluko's last game showed that he has alot to offer.

We saw what he added to the team. He changed the whole game as soon as he came on. That is the koko.

Besides, Keshi never wanted to bring Sone Aluko to the team because of the same reason you are giving and that was why he kept inviting the mediocre Uzoenyi to the national team. But we saw that all those team cohesion, he can't offer anything where plain lies not to bring him to the team.

It's obvious, that's what we have for now, another thing about mikel is that he dictates the pace of our game, when the serbians were chasing us all over the place, mikel would have slowed down the pace of the game for the other players to regain themselves, we don't have any other player who can do this and the names branded here to play like mikel na wash.

Just like argentina, no messi, no party. sad reality, we only hope mikel is not injured or will dip in form this summer

The last time Aluko played for the national team, he rescued us from shameful defeat and almost secured us a ticket to the AFCON. Know what? He did all these coming from the bench with 38 minutes left.

So, you can't write him off like that because he never flopped in the National team.

So bro, if I may understand you correctly, this current name is very okay?

I don't think so.

Ighalo: wasteful

Ahmed Musa: don't even know why he keeps getting invited. When he was benched at Leicester, I was among those that cried foul. Now, we know why

Awaziem:looses conc easily

Bryan Idowu: can't help the attack. No wonder he couldn't make it into Zenit first team and was sold to amker pem.

Iwobi: good talent but small pikin dey worry am. Too much showboating

Joel obi: Don't even get me started on him

Mikel Agu: hmmmm. Them egbons for this thread know am sha

Ebuehi: I want to think he wasn't fully fit.

Ekong:Oga, go learn how to pass. Even if na to stalk guti and xavi go their house. Do am make you beg them to teach you. Same goes for Onazi. It will help both your ministies

No be to dye hair dey post for social media we want. In fact you can be absent on Twitter but command a presence on the pitch along with a good result in matches. We don't mind. Don't dye your hair unnecessarily if you won't use that same head to score goals via set pieces. We no send you go Russia to form Chris brown. what you guys are failing to understand is that this is a new generation super eagle who plays differently from the team we had few years back, the baloguns, ekongs, ndidi, iwobi, iheanacho and co have brought in a new dimesion that only experienced players like moses and mikel has been able to cope because of the depth of their personal talent. Musa is struggling to gel with these players, Echejielle too, even omeruo. This is why a joel obi can't gel or a martins or even aluko. They will struggle and struggle with players like Ndidi I saw displaying some great skills tonight.

you seriously think Moses is more talented than Joel? Bar injury, Joel would have been in a top top club playing his favourite position. Moses was a bench warmer until he got drafted into another position

You mean Obafemi Martins who was once nominated for a FIFA award doesn't have depth in talent? undecided

You mean Sone Aluko who was nominated for Championship player of the year just last season doesn't have depth in talent ? undecided

There is no player currently in the National team as skillful as Sone Aluko.

Since, they meet your criteria, I think they are perfect for the team.

First off, can the NFF please change those lemon jerseys we played with today?
1. They were very offensive to the eyes
2. They make the team look uncoordinated and unbusiness like
3. They make the team look childish and so ordinary
4. That jersey does not make a bold statement.

Can the NFF please make a white copy of the darker green as our away jersey while the darker green becomes the home jersey.

Peeps may wonder why I take this jersey issue this serious. I take branding and image making serious. Your national team jersey is your first medium of branding. I always make reference to the bigger brands in football and what their jerseys say about them. Nuff said on that.

Today's game, though we lost but we learnt some additional things that will help strengthen the team.

Some observations from our last 2 friendlies. I will drop more as discussions proceed:
1. This team has lost its passing and ball possessive abilities all in a bid to play more of counter attacking football. Rohr needs to do something about this as this has been a major strength for us especially when we play against European teams. Poland and Serbia totally dominated us.

2. Mikel is the heart and soul of this team

3. The oyinbo wall is the best CB pairing

4. We are going to the WC without cutting edge strikers.

5. Idowu's performance over the two games may have given Rohr reasons to take another look at Echiejile

6. Ebuehi is second choice to Shehu. Ola Aina: I fear for that lad. He may be the sacrificial lamb.

7. Uzoho had a better performance today but we are still in a crisis situation in that department. We may be watching the WC with our hearts in our mouths each time there is enemies incursion.

8. Alex Iwobi is the closest replacement for Mikel in that AM role. But when Mikel is in the team he may operate from the wings.

9. Onazi clawed his way back into a vantage position in the team. Presence of Joel Obi could be responsible.

9. Ndidi is the engine room of that midfield and should be handed the CM role while Ogu and Onazi should battle for the DM position.

10. Joel Obi's inclusion into the team, contrary to remarks on here, is value added. He has brought more steel to the midfield as he combines his skills with physicality. He may not make the first 11, though, with Ndidi as the CM and Mikel as AM.

11. We don't have business like wingers. Simon is not imposing enough, Musa never makes one perfect cross. Moses stands out but often plays to the gallery.
Iwobi some times does one trick too many and may occasionally get lost in the game

12. Odion Ighalo. I think we need to tell ourselves the truth. Once Mikel is back Iheanacho should take up that CF position. What do you call a CF that could not even test any goalkeeper over the two games?

13. We are most comfortable with the 4-2-3-1 formation with which we qualified for the WC. The other formations may just be back-up options that may be employed depending on the dynamics of the game.

14. One major positive: We have a better bench than that of the 2014 WC.

I am not shaken by this defeat even though I had wanted a 100% record in our build up process.
The team building is continuous even after the WC.

Over all, quality friendlies and quality oppositions. Yes we were tested.
Let's see what the team offers us in the May and June friendlies.

The truth is this we are only going to go as far as Mikel Obi takes us. Shikena. Aluko and anyone can not do what Mikel does for this team, Mikel is the chairman of this team. Until we go back and pick from the last Under Something team that won, we can not get a good AM replacement, because foreign club coaches have refused to pick Nigerians to play that role for them, so we are presently and will continue to be talent short in that department.

So our option is to use one of the "rejected" 3rd division playing in a back water league AM or develop our Junior teams' AM ourselves, just as we have continued to use Mikel even though he now plays DM in his clubs.

Ighalo is the only forward that offers any hold up play upfront..playing with Iheanacho means no proper holdup play..it would be hard playing nacho as the lone forward..he doesn't play well as the only striker..

Ighalo is not clinical but I'm just hoping he hits form b4 the world cup..

I doubt Echiejile can do any better than idowu..idowu was more energetic in the left back position, he just doesn't know how to take on players..I watched all our WCQ games again and I can tell you, echiejile would be exploited to the fullest by the Europeans..he plays like an old man now, no energy left..he offers nothing going forward..his pace defending would be a liability, now add Balogon to the mix..

I think our passing game has a chance when Mikel gets back so we could fully exploit our energetic fullbacks..
